You're quite right, it wasn't ideal and in my case by the time they got round to sending the information about Rogues, I was no longer so keen to get one. I'm not justifying it at all, just saying what I think likely happened.

Whenever I contact Salix I get the impression that demand is always greater than supply and that they are very busy trying to keep up. I had a similar experience when asking about Rogues, but it is pretty obvious that what they did was wait a certain amount of time, then send out a mass email to everyone who had enquired. Much quicker than replies to individuals. I see they are no longer offering Rogues from the factory this season, they will be available from dealers though.

£45 is a high price, but I have quite a few Salix bats from over the years, so when I get them all refurbed I will get them done by Salix as they have a stash of older labels.

you correct Jon there demand far out weight there supply some shops are not happy about it either

I suppose that is why they are taking on a trainee. We must remember they are only a small band, one batmaker, one finisher and a secretary. Can't think of any other brands with such a small workforce who are so well known. I guess it shows they are doing something right. I'm certain to buy one of their new innovative shapes fairly soon.

I agree the finish on a salix is top class shame the price is also out of this world

It could well have changed, but when I last checked there was Andrew the maker, Ian the chap who could well make but I got the impression he was doing more finishing etc and Victoria who runs the office.

I'd stand corrected though. They're certainly not a big operation.

no worry Jon i agree a good operation and a top place to get a bat from wish he just brought his price down a bit but if demand is out weighting supply then no need to i guess

They are certainly not cheap but I do think their price is overplayed somewhat.

Can't comment on this years prices but last year they were on a par with Newbery and far less than GN GM etc.

Quite right, it looks like a great bat and they have done a sterling job.

Doesn't Victoria make the odd bat too? Think I read that in one of the cricket mags a while ago.

No, pure publicity, they do a lot of sanding, a friend of mine was tapped up to swap to them but didn't stay long, he could not put up with working there.

GM looks a belter.
