Virat Kohli's bat
« on: February 20, 2011, 01:58:33 AM »

This is the biggest bat I have seen anyone using in the international circuit.

http://www.espncricinfo.com/icc_cricket_worldcup2011/content/image/501948.html?object=381449;page=2

it is huge....

I am very sure he does not use a heavy bat, so this bat has a lot of woog for a 2.10 or even a 2.11 (but i think it will be more of 2.9/2.10)

do we know who makes the bats for Nike players?
or could it simply be absolutely anything and he stickers them up?
what did Kohli use before Nike?

pads are SG but his bat doesn't have the SG stamp on the edge (ala Sewags bat) so BAS is probably a good bet.

It could be anything, Nike are having bats made in England and India and we all know these players use any brand of bat they want plus sponsors stickers.

The bat looks big, very dry but nothing impossible as the Indians still favour a big edge coupled with low spine in their bats.

Off topic, but why do Indian players tend to have a mismatch of kit? Most other international players from the other big nations are tied to one brand (although we all known the bat isn't necessarily the same brand)

i don't think he is related to the family. Taruwar Kohli who opened for the winning side in the U19 WC2008 is part of the BAS family.
