It does not matter who they play the result will be pretty much the same as the mindset is wrong we play with fear especially the fear of being dropped for a bad performance when other sides don't as they are backed so until that changes our results won't

As its been said no Trott????  He has been Mr Dependable since he has come into the team.  He should be opening to give all the time in the world to bat the way he does.................no fuss and productive.  He knows that even with a ton on the board he has never got enough runs.

Trott hass been the best batting discovery for england in a long time in all forms.

Cook to come in and like the idea of Woakes and Briggs

Give Keiswetter a go why not

Time to rebuild time for some to be given a good chance

Still reckon Kieswetter should be picked over Davies as keeper as he is more of a power player to bat at the top of the innings with Cook

pre world cup a lot of people had a rant at me for saying prior is not a world class cricketer, and now i have not seen him in one prospective team, because of one bad tournament?
Title: Re: what next for england player changes
Post by: procricket on March 27, 2011, 10:05:40 PM
he is world class at first class level of that there is no doubt

It may be a poor vintage for world class all round keeper batsman but he up there in the longer format of the game

sorry procricket, a world class player covers all formats for me, you dont see sachin only turn up for test matches.

for want of a better word, we need a meathead... 7 foot tall, built like a brick shithouse, 4lb bat, good eye for the ball... we just dont have anyone who can do it consistantly

We are not taught to bat with freedom that's why so rarely a player comes along with the balls to do it the last real one was banger oh how we miss you

If you want a big hitter then Davies out and Kieswetter in! I know he does have some bad innings but he can certainly hit a big ball!

have to admit give keiswetter a chance he can hit a big ball

Not sure I rate him too highly bt was discarded pretty quick, but brought in too soon.

I don't really rate kieswetters keeping I'm probably old fashioned but I like a good keeper behind the stumps

i have no attachment to him, if someone came along and could do a better job id have them in, i think he is weak mentally and has never played for sustained periods with the positive instinct he was gifted. he is worth his place in the test side, but as i have repeatedly said, i cant give him the tag 'world class', hopefully someone else can put a case forward to replace him

everyones given up on him as a one day player so far though, calling for kieswetter, the world cup debacle should provide an oppotunity to rebuild ODI wise, its time to freshen up and give someone else a chance, i.e. davies or smith

Bresnan
Tremlett
Title: Re: what next for england player changes

agree but as other have i rate buttler as a better batsman than keiswetter and i suspect he might push on this season.

Ben Stokes is another one i would like to see given a chance as with Woakes as well.

There a few out there worth y of a chance for sure.

As long as Luke Wright is sent packing

Bopara should be given a chance but a last one i hate his arrogance but think he has talent.

Big summer for Bell time to move up a gear again for me i think he has it all but needs to do it now in all forms and score big not just look good.(yes i know his mentality has improved but he could be world class in my opinion)

Who are they???

Biggest hitters on the county circuit - Napier, Andrew, Stevens, Hamilton Brown, Buttler, Foster, Maynard, Berg, Shah. Players I know who can hit a ball a long way but most no where near england standard. Napier has got to be up there can bowl 90mph and hit big ??

Biased, Napier's had 2 good innings and that's it. His bowling is woeful as well!

Shah is a classic- all the talent in the world can absolutely smash it- saw him get that brill ninety then got dopped i think.

BUT big BUTT he has the fear of failure in a massive way, and his chance has gone.

Buttler is a good shout for the future, too young at the moment. Did you see him in the T20 semi finals. Stuart Broad? no problem!

Will be interesting to see what somerset do with him and Kieswetter over the summer. Last season Kieswetter took the gloves with Buttle playing just as a batsman and keeping when Kieswetter was with england.

Never too young maybe

James Vince as well if he gets a bloody good start to the summer

does it matter? is he not meeting the demands of cricket matches as he is? or is it just the england management trying to play big brother, you will do as we say?

Lyth is a bloody busy cricketer another with a chance possibly

shows how much talent we have, lots of players knocking on the door - gale, taylor, adams, bairstow, harris etc. Some great young players to look out for !

Ian Bell is getting in alot of these sides and i am a big fan of him but hes never seem to get the big 100's we need , gets a very good looking 40 and gives his wicket away hes had plenty of chances now .
Also i think shah was pretty unlucky to get dropped , he hits a long ball and has had some brillant knocks in a england shirt .
Lyth hlidreth and Bulter are my top 3 to come in for the batting , players like luke wright that arnt international quality need to be dumped .

Nobody has even mentioned the CB Forum members for England!  Most seem to have more kit than a Test match player on a 5 month winter tour; the best custom made bats, top of the range pads, gloves, thigh pads, the latest fashion statement boots....what more do you need?  Ability.....pah....over-rated!

C'mon Mr Flower, time to stop being a Forum Guest and stealing all our ideas as your own, join the CB Forum and start a post on here appealing for new talent......there's Buzz, Peplow, Colesy, Canners, Talisman, Leo, Liam, Roco, Simmy, Johan, Golders, 19reading87, Yash, JonPinson, Ayrtek, Tom, Jimba, how many do you need........oh, and don't bother with Punter_Legend, he's got homework to do  :D
