Title: CustomBATS to close down
Post by: Howzat on April 01, 2011, 07:39:13 PM: It is with great regret that I have to announce custombats will be shutting down with immediate effect as of tomorrow. Thanks to everyone who has posted.

I think that is a common name for the forum in several households. Certainly Mrs Buzz doesn't speak of it in glowing terms that often.

If for whatever reason you have decided to no longer be part of a forum fair enough, but why not just slip away, stop posting and not log in? Why does there always have to be a 'I'm leaving' thread or in this case, a post? Is it in a vain hope that when reading it everyone will reply 'please don't go we love you'? Because I don't get it. Never have.

Just say it like I see it, rather than saying what the voices in my head tell me to say.

To me that is a bit like the kid in the park who, when upset by something, makes a big deal of picking his football up and storming home. When I look at the goodbye post above, all I see typed is 'lookatmeyouwantmetostayreallyhowwilltheforumsurvivewithoutme'.

Typical and justified response which I find humourous:

Careful the door doesn't hit your (No Swearing Please) on the way out.

Edit: The only way something similar can be more pathetic/funny is when the thread/post is followed up by a pm/email to the mods asking that their account be deleted. :D
