Given the concerns that some people have had with their boots, I thought I'd undertake a little survey.
I use Asics Strike Rate and I've never had any trouble with them.
-
Some cheap GN and Mitre ones from Intersport. £15 each, been brilliant!
-
Asics Advance 3's and have been brilliant
-
always wanted some Aussie Asics ones but got Addidas cobolt blue's
-
Adidas 22Yards low. Instant broken toe with impact, and a lot of pain using them today and yesterday after breaking my ankle last year... Been meaning to buy some new shoes for ages but just haven't got round to it.....
-
Spiked up Adidas trainers with extra protection on some areas. They're for batting.
And for bowling I have Asics Gel 452 Not Out.
Never had any problems with either, the spiked Adidas trainers are absolutely superb!
-
Got the gold Adidas Twenty2yrds and they're lush, so comfortable. Before them I had some Puma Iridium rubbers which were a little narrow and seeing as i have wide feet it wasn't a great match - looked great though.
-
Asics gel 8 for 64 i bat, field and bowl in them if you can call it that lol!!! lovely boots very comfy and lots of protection. Only problem is getting them on and of, though i have heard a lot of good things about Puma bowling boots lately as Asics have stopped making a boot now and a lot of guys have switched to these.

I wore my asics gel advance 3 for the first time this weekend, and when i put them on i thought these are the best things ever, they honestly felt so comfy, but after about 30 overs of chasing leather they started to rub on my heel (the right one) and ended up with a nice blister..... has anyone else had this problem?
-
Could this just be new shoes

This appears to be a recurring theme with the Gel advance shoes. My 2009 set gave me blisters, but since buying 1000 mile socks I've had no discomfort!
Plenty of other people have the same problem with them.

Could this just be new shoes
possibly but have never suffered with this before
-
i have used adidas and nike and had no problems with either, nikes are far more confortable for me though! Never ventured towards asics due to the amount of people who get blisters!

Had some adidas boots a few seasons ago - were the most comfortable boots I've ever had, but I got really fed up with getting wet feet through the ventilation holes in the bottom of them (major design flaw for english club cricketers!!)
Either side of the Adidas I've had pumas, which have been superb, apart from the fact that on Saturday, I though I'd change the spikes in them. A team mate wished me good luck, as he said Puma's were notorious for seizing up and then ripping the thread out - he wasn't wrong, so if I want spikes longer than about 3mm I'm going to have to buy new boots rather than just replacing spikes every couple of seasons.
I'm yet to try Nike or Asics (I'm a firm beleiver in buying cricket boots from specialist shoe companies) - my experience with Asics running shoes is that they're a bit too narrow for me, though I guess cricket boots may well have a different fit.
Nike are my preferred running shoe, but from a cricket point of view, they've always seemed over-priced, plus they've been in and out of the market, which makes finding older models at bargain prices a bit harder

adidas 22 yards and pumas, always been great
-

-
I have some nikes available
-
what the deal with Nike are they any good never had a pair
-
Best cricket boots on the market in my opinion, the orginal versions were superb however the version 2 have gone to the next level and wouldnt buy or sell any other brand.
-
I use Adidas 22 yrds Low (astro version) and they are lovely, very comfy and not had any issues.
Still waiting to give the Asics Gel Advance 2's a run out, not looking forward to them now! Although I only keep and bat so should be OK
-
My 22yrd gold adidas boots, haven't ever given me any problems, with a bit of gold bling to boot!
-
Using puma iridiums at the moment and are fab after transferring from kook big quick which were excellent
-
GM Multifunction boots and they are tops
-
Gel advance 3's combined with 1000 mile socks, absolutely love them no problems now.... although i had a few blisters early on
-

flats? thats what the missus wears to work lol......... :)

Haha well apparently I'm a girl according to Nick Nack so it makes sense lol ;)
You know what I mean, just trainers, in fact I think they were old spikes which I'd lost the spikes for and got worn away etc etc.. :(
-
hahaha only messing bigman
-
ive still got the original adidas red stripe spikes( 22 yds ones) from about 6 years ago. still comfy and still in one piece.
-
I've got the Puma Tricks and I haven't had any trouble with them at all.
-
Asics strike rates - haven't caused me any trouble, great pair of shoes!!
-
Puma iradiums which were like an old pair of slippers from day one and replaced a pair of kooks that finished their life by the tops detaching from the soles mid game 3 mins and a fair amount of tape and I finished the game ( and the Sunday friendly that week lol!)
-
Another strong advocacy for the Nike Air Zoom Openers (mine are last year's). I had cycled through various models of Adidas and Asics before that but I would definitely buy Nikes again when this pair wears down. Fantastic for both comfort and support.
-
Have to say Nike as well! Had some Puma Iridiums that were great but didn't last too long and the lining fell apart fairly quickly, recently bought some Nike spikes from a forum member and they are much, much better made and having worn them last week as comfortable a pair of shoes as I have ever worn! Hate the new orange ones though....too bling for me...
-
I'm tempted by this spiking service to normal trainers
-
Had some readers and GM's and they've all lasted about a season. The rubbers in particular due to the use they get in and outdoors, but I also prefer to play in them as long as it's not really wet. Had a pair of asics bowling boots for 5 years and they show now signs of wear plus they are comfortable. I use to get shin/Achilles problems but the asics seem to have sorted it. Getting some rubber asics for my birthday, which I'm hoping will be equally sturdy!.
Asics seem to be the best boot on the market imho in terms of comfort and durability. Cheap boots are a false economy on your wallet and feet!
-
I have had Puma signatures, Adidas 22yrds, Asics 452* and this year I have the advance 3's. None have caused me any issues and the advance 3's are the comfiest and lightest I have had yet out of all of them.
-
Have speed menaces for bowling and 452s for batting. both great. Speed menaces so light i cud use them as a batting shoe lol :D
