Ca 10,000 plus.
Amazing, sadly only lasted 3/4 of a season!
-
MB Malik Custom. Still to try a few bats i bought over the winter...
-
Considering the fact 95% of my bats are new so the best is Black Cat Shadow and Puma Iridium 3000! Both are deadly!
-
Never hit anything like the Paradox LE I scored 150 with the other day. One of the sixes was just plain ridiculous.
-
My old Gray nicolls powerbow,

Paul Collingwoods Slazenger fantastic bit of wood suited me perfectly

Explain? :)
-
Best is hard as ive had some great bats so many of them but possibly it would be the old Kook Alan Lamb bat which was top of the range in its day but cant remember the model name as it was a long time ago lol, the worst is very simple it would be all 3 warsop bats ive owned absolute planks.
-
was it not a sovereign rich or gold crown or the ridgeback
-
TK Lam defo

Explain? :)
Pull off their quickest bowler - was about 20m above the ground as it cleared the boundary. Next thing we heard was the crash of the house tiles. Was by far the longest I have ever hit. Must have been well over 80m.
-
Don't think it was the Gold Crown but certinly wasn't the ridgeback as it wasn't scooped in any way, Sovereign mmm possibly bud but i cant remember for sure and it was a long time ago but i do remember my brother borrowed it and smashed it as i was only around 15 at the time and he didn't ask to take it.

Wow, sounds a cracking shot mate! Saw the article, guessing that was photoshopped otherwise I was seeing things..! :-[ In light of your score I'm a bit gutted I got retired on 110 when we had 7 overs left, would have backed myself to have gone mental (controlled, obviously ;)) and scored a fair few runs... :( - But that's Sunday cricket at times :(

Not photoshopped, no. I was fortunate enough to play at Lords last year in a Lords Taverners charity day. The sports editor of the paper just used that pic as it was one of the few he had of me.
-
Best was an Mjolnir LH. Beautiful bat. Beautiful ping. Bought a few years ago. Handle had a lot of 'whip'- too much as it turned out. Died last year - handle broke...
-
Bulldog ;)
-
TK Lam defo
Do u still have it?
-
Same for me...now got 2 of them tho after a 9 month wait and she's a beauty too!! She will be referred to as "the baby" hence forth ;)
-
Definitely my instinct custom Zenith.
-
M&H Solution
-
Custom made Talisman which was true low density not over dried
-
Dukes Pro-Century Test Selection - according to others I had never it the ball so hard. Remember charging this trundler and he bowled me a wide long hop. It would normally be cut but as I was on the charge I lunged and sliced across the ball in an effort to reach it. Flew straight over the sightscreen 70 yards away. Gutted when it snapped in half :-(
-
GM Hero 808 - amazing for so called Grade 2 willow...
-
Love reading this i had a purple batch when i was around 23 and scored a truck load using a grade 3 Indian thing made i think by Robinsons and to be fair it hard to say which is the best ever.
All bats i have used bar the odd one has had quality and it depends on my form to determine how good a bat is..
Best bat for me is the right pick up and the biggest middle possible in a bat
If i'm not in form even the best bats sound crap
-
I have found that as well Dave! Was doubting my H4L's as I haven't found the middle in 2 weeks, sounding tinny and hollow. God knows what I'm playing at! Usually they sounds like rockets...
-
I wonder how many people have sold there bats on this forum due to poor form...
We all look at bats but it always the tradesman who is wrong..
Most bats i find are a s good as each other there a few and i mean a very few which in truth are miles better than any other in terms of performance..
-
Saying that I got caught pulling on wednesday night, went miles, just straight up ;)
Then went back to the changing room and got the mallet out and realised it was me, not the bat as it was responding very well!

My Kippax sounds similar, been told to bash it around a bit and the willow will get better. Seems to gradually improving, sometimes the case with the best willow.
-
Bloody hell my Pb after 3 and a half years is sounding tinny and hallow but tell you if i hit it it stays hit willow is so good but so deceptive indeed..
I wonder on this forum how long do people give bats before there consigned to good or bad bats.
I have herd people calling bats plank off a mallet and i have had to rollock one youngster at the club who was given a decent bat by his granddad but after getting out slammed his bat down i told him after it is not the bat son it is you...
People will tell you having more grains and nicer looking bats will make the bat better i think most of that chat is about the selling of a bat.
-
Well the Monster has been played in over the winter in nets and was knocked in when I got it. The Hattori still needs a little more work but I hit a couple the other day that weren't coming back in a hurry.
You just get that horrible sound that puts you right off. It's me not timing it though. Bats do tend to get better over time don't they?
-
Do u still have it?
yes
-
I see it as this people nowadays are all plug and play and i do not care who knocks my bat in i will do it in the end.
I know how to and i know what suits my bats and me..
Think about any catching bats that that are years old they get the really hard laminate type face due to compression if the compression has not gone to far they act as a natural laminate
-
H4L Excel ;) accidental 6
-
Newbery TT
-
Salix praestantia select about 6 years old. Amazing Ping
-
RNS "pro" bat, I am hoping my new Mike special will beat it.
-
Toss up between GN Elite LE and GN Ultimate 1000 LE. ( In my younger days all I used was GN )
-
Without doubt my PInk perfect storm, i hit a monstrous six yesterday over long on that just keep going, i also nearly killed the umpire.... i smashed a half volley straight back past the bowler that was heading straight for the umpires face luckily the bowler deflected it past him for 4... I also got the much talked about riffle sound from a one bounce four that crashed into the fence....
This bat is a big deal
-
My current Redback Allegiance Premier for sheer all round brilliance! A number of people have commented on the noise the bat makes and one has asked me for the contact details for Gary after seeing the bat in use.
Possibly a DF Graham Hick 405 I was lucky enough to have as a junior, it still sticks out in my mind as being awesome but that could be rose tinted spectacles....I remember hitting a very rapid 86 not out with that in one junior game a senior player was helping to umpire and wanted to inspect the bat part way through as he couldn't believe how far the ball was going off it. Bearing in mind most kids were using those horrible plastic coated bright white SS things at the time it was a lot better than most bats on display.

Kookaburra big Kahuna before it broke at the end of last season, followed by a Kookaburra big Kahuna this season which has just broken again.
