Love reading this i had a purple batch when i was around 23 and scored a truck load using a grade 3 Indian thing made i think by Robinsons and to be fair it hard to say which is the best ever.

All bats i have used bar the odd one has had quality and it depends on my form to determine how good a bat is..

Best bat for me is the right pick up and the biggest middle possible in a bat

If i'm not in form even the best bats sound crap

I have found that as well Dave! Was doubting my H4L's as I haven't found the middle in 2 weeks, sounding tinny and hollow. God knows what I'm playing at! Usually they sounds like rockets...

I wonder how many people have sold there bats on this forum due to poor form...

We all look at bats but it always the tradesman who is wrong..

Most bats i find are a s good as each other there a few and i mean a very few which in truth are miles better than any other in terms of performance..

Saying that I got caught pulling on wednesday night, went miles, just straight up ;)

Then went back to the changing room and got the mallet out and realised it was me, not the bat as it was responding very well!

My Kippax sounds similar, been told to bash it around a bit and the willow will get better. Seems to gradually improving, sometimes the case with the best willow.

Bloody hell my Pb after 3 and a half years is sounding tinny and hallow but tell you if i hit it it stays hit willow is so good but so deceptive indeed..

I wonder on this forum how long do people give bats before there consigned to good or bad bats.

I have herd people calling bats plank off a mallet and i have had to rollock one youngster at the club who was given a decent bat by his granddad but after getting out slammed his bat down i told him after it is not the bat son it is you...

People will tell you having more grains and nicer looking bats will make the bat better i think most of that chat is about the selling of a bat.

Well the Monster has been played in over the winter in nets and was knocked in when I got it. The Hattori still needs a little more work but I hit a couple the other day that weren't coming back in a hurry.

You just get that horrible sound that puts you right off. It's me not timing it though. Bats do tend to get better over time don't they?

I see it as this people nowadays are all plug and play and i do not care who knocks my bat in i will do it in the end.

I know how to and i know what suits my bats and me..

Think about any catching bats that that are years old they get the really hard laminate type face due to compression if the compression has not gone to far they act as a natural laminate

Toss up between GN Elite LE and GN Ultimate 1000 LE. ( In my younger days all I used was GN )
