For anyone watching the Durham Warickshire game could they tell me what happened off of the free hit when Muchall got bowled? They gave it as a run I think but I heard someone mention it should have been a bye if he had not hit it. I was just wondering why it would be a bye? There's nothing the keeper could do

Davies kicked Gloucs ass. 14 off one Murali over.

Have to say that Oval organisation was shocking. 20 mins to get to the bar before the match. 35 during the first innings. The guys in front of us took 1 hour 10 mins over half time and early second innings. Really, really awful. I have no idea what surrey  management were playing at but it pi**ed off 3/4 of the crowd.

Foster has just taken 2 brilliant takes, how has he not got more of a chance in international cricket? He is probably the best gloveman in the country, I can understand that the selectors want the best batsmen as well but its not as if Foster is rubbish with the bat. There may not be a place in the test side for him any more but surely he deserves a go in the 2020 or ODI team?
Title: Re: Friends Life t20
Post by: Burdy on June 13, 2011, 06:10:44 PM
Might find it may be more to do with his behaviour previous tests abroad, I know in New Zealand he was ermmm quite vocal and think he had a 'to do' in India.

I agree, best gloveman standing up and he can hold a bat, but seriouly, cannot understand what the England selectors want in a keeper? Maybe someone with a 'Glazing' background? :D

Bopara bowled a filthy wide full toss and De Bruyn creamed the ball through point thus hitting the pidgeon.
Then Foster, of all people :o , dropped it.
But it was taken off and should be fine... :)

154 is sub-par normally at the oval, but our bowling line-up has the potential to win this for us, should be a good game!

Yeah well Styris is out now, run out by Dernbach :)
But Ansari was a former U19 England player, possibly a current one. Something about him coming from Cambridge but he batted blooming well and just bowled a tidy over.
Though I reckon Tendo will target him. Almost another run out here maybe... ???

THat's odd cos that's where I'm watching it. I find that if you disconnect internet and then reconnect, it sometimes works. Mind you Johan is giving a pretty decent commentary on here. Not only commentary but punditry and analysis as well.

Another 6 from number 7. 64 needed from about 6 overs. Umpires telling the players to keep the ball up when they
throw it in too.

This should be interesting! Spreigel got smashed, shouldn't have bowled and a mistake from H-B.
That could cost us.

Was a bouncer though. As the first bouncer above shoulder height in the over it couldn't be a no ball. Because he hit it, it couldn't be a wide. Good bit of bowling, desperate batting.

Dernbach (Spelling) has just highlighted why he should be knocking on the door for selection in the limited over teams

@johan95 just went about it all wrong really and lost to many early wickets, Shah tendo and Ravi not contributing hasn't helped. The Surrey bowling was brilliant though

Yeah fair dos. 3 guns didn't really fire and Napier was crocked by that point.
Dernbach did really well the over with 3/4 slower balls was class :)
Surrey have put themselves back into it, really.

Good performance by Ansari I reckon he could be MOTM... :D
A good game though it could have been way closer. Delighted with the way we fielded it was really good. Shows why there was a lot of youth in the side.

Oh, clueless me lol - Missed the actual wicket so I only saw the slow motion replay as napier hit it infront of his chest so thogught it was a beamer!

Haha no worries lol, thought that might have been the case. Was a case of not building partnerships at all.

LOL I was genuinely doing it for Alex to be helpful and as a kind gesture at first. Then when he said he'd got the feed I stopped a bit but was more commenting as it was nearing the end...

If it offends you Jon.. ;) - I can delete the posts. Just for you :D

Mind you, looking at the last two televised games which have featured essex and somerset (which may have something to do with it) and the p*** poor performance that each have put in, there might be the opportunity for a decent game. The last two certainly haven't.

Great match Tom, all of the Bears fans thought they had the game in the bag with Worcs on 96-6.
I honestly expected to see Worcestershire 30 or 40 short, but Andrew far exceeded any expectations I had for the side.

Was at the SLG tonight for Kent - Middlesex. Was all doom and gloom at 21 for 6 but when Jones and Tredwell got the recovery going we thought perhaps a score of 110+ could be defended if we bowled well, which thankfully we did (especially Tredders).

The new floodlights in action.

Hole in a Kent Uni hoarding caused by a Tredwell six!

He's batting brilliantly! Hampshire haven't fielded well though. He's never scored a FC hundred, I think you mean his 77 on debut.
