Hello all.
I used to be sponsored by there two companies as a junior player, been trying to look them up and get in touch as i'm after a few bits of practice kit and fancied some nostalgia!
The PS website i found was last updated in 2008, and Centurion aren't answering their phone or emails. Anyone know if they still exist/have gone under?
Cheers!

PS were selling through sports direct or someone like that I believe, no idea who makes their bats now but their rubbish compared to the ones i got from them around 10 years ago.

I love the fact PS have a pad with the red stripe logo on lol! I know a few west indian batsman used the brand but think thats taking it a litle far.

RED STRIPE and Centurion Bats remind me of a player i used to play with Clayton Lambert...... west indian dude that used to reverse sweep opening bowlers in the first couple of overs!!

Brilliant, thanks for that!
Used to have a Centurion Heritage bat that i got for my 16th birthday, im 30 next year and it finally died last summer, was an absolute gem of a bat. They were excellent sponsors too.

Just found that Centurion are selling all their stuff off cheap on eBay, i mean like the Pro bat is reduced from £200 to £60, only got a few sizes of everythign tough so i guess they might be relaunching their range.
The bats do seem to come wrapped in sellophane however. I'm not sure i could trust a bat wrapped in sellophane.

Centurion emailed me back, basically offering me about 10 seasons worth of kit for £300. I'm going to give it a miss and order some proper kit :-)

Centurion bats from what i remember used to be decent bats and can be quite heavy. I used one many moons ago and it was a propper weapon.
I am sure a player from Hadleigh & Thundersley cc has bought into the rights of Centurion, not sure if it is the same bloke who is the CF consultant/salesman at the club

My Centurion bats were 2lbs 12oz and were brilliant. Really durable and a great middle.

Everything you heard about clayton lambert was true no matter how amazing they may seem. The bloke was an animal on the cricket pitch! He would blast boundary after boundary but somehow could only ever hit a 1 on the ball of EVERY over. His style was like chanderpauls, his only weakness was early on he could get lbw walking across his stumps. After he was set, sit back and watch the fireworks. Unbelievable shots. He always used to tell you what he was going to do and for comedy value he would tell the bowler where he was going to hit the next ball. He used to talk a lot about batting and the one piece of advise I always remember was that you must play % shots, the ones with the least risk/reward. He would reverse sweep opening bowlers into a big space and continually go aerial over the ring fielders usually out if the ground. He allowed himself to play these type of shots because he was hitting into safe areas. When I was keeping he would make me stand up all the time. Forget byes "1 is , keep the man in his crease boy" was what he would say. Great advice for keeper but not when he would bowl bouncers! Legend of a cricketer. Now high up in USA cricket.
