Centurion and Peak Sports
« on: September 16, 2011, 01:39:47 AM »

Hello all.

I used to be sponsored by there two companies as a junior player, been trying to look them up and get in touch as i'm after a few bits of practice kit and fancied some nostalgia!

The PS website i found was last updated in 2008, and Centurion aren't answering their phone or emails. Anyone know if they still exist/have gone under?

Cheers!

PS were selling through sports direct or someone like that I believe, no idea who makes their bats now but their rubbish compared to the ones i got from them around 10 years ago.

Surely the only piece of cricket equipment with an alcohol logo on???

I'm sure they used to do a Red Stripe bat too.

Used to have a Centurion Heritage bat that i got for my 16th birthday, im 30 next year and it finally died last summer, was an absolute gem of a bat. They were excellent sponsors too.

Just found that Centurion are selling all their stuff off cheap on eBay, i mean like the Pro bat is reduced from £200 to £60, only got a few sizes of everythign tough so i guess they might be relaunching their range.

The bats do seem to come wrapped in sellophane however. I'm not sure i could trust a bat wrapped in sellophane.

Centurion emailed me back, basically offering me about 10 seasons worth of kit for £300. I'm going to give it a miss and order some proper kit :-)

Centurion bats from what i remember used to be decent bats and can be quite heavy. I used one many moons ago and it was a propper weapon.
I am sure a player from Hadleigh & Thundersley cc has bought into the rights of Centurion, not sure if it is the same bloke who is the CF consultant/salesman at the club
