Hi all
We at blank bats hope you had a wonderful Christmas and would like to carry on the festive spirit by offering some top bats for a very good price. These bats are based on some of the most expensive bats available in the world today.
we are offering these bats at a 'SPECIAL' one off price of £150
Bat 1....
completely handmade by our master bat maker. One for the big hitters, with edges exceeding 45mm, minimal concaving, made from the best performing oversize clefts available. Weighs in at 2.12 with thick oval handle, toe guard and grip. I think you'll agree this is a pretty special bat....

can we have a pic looknig down the spine? to see the no concacving and spine height?
-
It does look like there is a slight bit of concaving...
How many bats will be on this offer?
-
Looks a cracker and a steal at that price!
-
Looks good. 2lb 12 40 + mm and no concaving? Sounds impossible. Looks like its concaved to me. Be good to see the toe up profil pic. Must be one hell of a Batmaker to do that.
-
to be fair, he probably is one hell of a batmaker, but looks to be a tad of concaving.
-
Still looks very nice!!
-
Where would you say the middle is on this bat look like a newbery b52 xl
-
The concaving is very minimal, I've seen bats up for sale with more concaving than this described as no concaving.
Sir Peplow, I will get some pics ASAP
-
Where would you say the middle is on this bat look like a newbery b52 xl
I would say this is a mid middled bat, but a very large middle
-
PMd you about a possible swap deal... 8)
-
Looks like a laver untra to me :p
-
I think there's plenty more where that came from Fletch :)
-
I think so too Johan, looks lovely though
-
So do you guys just have the one batmaker? Are they UK based?
-
Could always get the Lion Revolution stickers put on a bat :D
-
Could always get the Lion Revolution stickers put on a bat :D
That's what I was thinking
-
Looks great, best I've seen for a while, would bite your hand off tho id need the middle a bit lower
-
So do you guys just have the one batmaker? Are they UK based?
Yes we only use the best. All our bats are UK made
-
THE best?!
£150 does seem like a good price for English made g1
Is this your stock shape or will you be getting a variety?
-
we have a few shapes in mind that will be released in 2012.
Decisions are still being made as to what our stock shapes will be but i have a feeling this one may sneak its way into the lineup.....
-
Does it have a name?
-
Does it have a name?
You can call her whatever you like.........
I think 'Beyonce' is quite apt :)
-
more like a serena if you ask me... ;)
-
more like a serena if you ask me... ;)
haha it certainly has some meat to it :)
-
Got to be some concaving as I have a bat here with 0% concaving 40mm edges and is 2lb15 made by one of the best as well
Looks nice though

so you have a 2lb 15 Newbery Tour?
-
Kind of tour slightly different shape as bigger toe and shoulders than the tours I've seen
-
Didn't think the Tour had any spine to it as such, just a rolled profile ???
-

It is exactly that, no concaving whatsoever....... :)

So does this bat have concaving, or less concaving or no concaving?
Looking at the pictures, it does seem to have some concaving. Definitely does not like the Tour.
Possible to post a picture of the bat from the toe up?
-
Original post says minimal concaving.
Bat looks very similar to those that Canners posted a pic of in the 2012 kit topic.
-
Original post has been edited to say that so fair enough looks nice stick though if a little light
-
Just to add, the bat looks good, obviously it is graded on performance rather than on looks. Which is good.
The middle is a bit high for my liking (more a mid middle bat) but then that gives the batmaker the room to play with the size of the bat and the edges.
I am sure it will have a decent middle low down as well due to the amount of wood on it.
How is the pick-up with a single chevron grip?

I think these two pics answer the question - we don't want to get mixed up with Roco's bat - the bat on sale clearly has some concaving, but it isn't a classic indian shape - for me this is nearer an Ultra shape - where is Canners' Girlfriend to confirm when you need her?
-
Welcome to the forum. The bats look great and at £150 for UK made that sounds a great deal. Only quibble I have. It states edges exceeding 45mm but in the second picture it looks as though the tape measure isn't on the edge of the bat at all. Looks as though you've stole 5mm there!
-
Original post has been edited to say that so fair enough looks nice stick though if a little light
thanks mate :)
-
if we have a toe profile shot then all the concaving questions would be answered.
-
Personally think it's a great looking bat and a good price. Sadly too heavy for me.
Canners = Blankbats???
-
Here is what I have.
Very similar to yours. It is under 2lb11oz with 40-42mm edges and minimal concaving. Pretty big bat.

The trick is the flat face (like on the 2012 GN, SS KP, Bradbury, LW etc). The flat face makes the edges look bigger. If the same bat was to be pressed like a Newbery or a Salix, then the edges would shrink by 4-6mm.
But these are too many fine points to look into. As long as it plays well and picks-up well, who cares whether it is a flat face or small edge etc.
-
We are currently using the one batmaker- who i regard as the best. This may change in the future but as far as im concerned we will be sticking with the current one due to the quality bats we have recieved. If this changes you will be the first to know :)
-
I#d say those edges in your pic looked to be 34mm Yash?
-
Could they not have a small bb logo branded on the bat somewhere to show it comes from blank bats. :)
-

all in good time my friend :)
the initial concept is to provide people with the best quality bats at a top price. These bats would cost double if they had stickers on.
-
So is there going to be other bat offers in the next few days?
-

How would they cost double? A set of stickers doesn't cost £150, and a small edge one would be about £3 if bought in bulk.
-
I don't see where BlankBats ever admitted that bat has no concaving, the OP says 'minimal concaving' so that does not mean bat does not have concaving!
-
I#d say those edges in your pic looked to be 34mm Yash?
Exactly 40mm mate.
Anyway this is BB's thread, lets stick to the bat they are selling.
BB/Leo, please feel free to remove my posts if they are creating any problem.
-
Maybe they'll get the New Year offer out ;)
Could you get a bat custom made to one's specs BlankBats? If so how long would it take? Cause I think a couple of people may be interested in that service, given this price is a REALLY competitive one for "the best" willow :)
Cheers :)
-
As said the op did say no concaving but has been edited so all good as one persons opinion of concaving is different from another's
-

I think he's suggesting that the same performance bat from a well-known brand would cost around £300 - maybe M&H is a suitable comparison..
-

I hear you, just think it would make word of mouth slightly eaiser when a new blank bat owner is showing there new monster off. Bat looks great thou.

Thank you Johan ;)
Regardless of what BlankBats has said, I reckon if a couple of people bought bats and reviewed them for the Forum's good (a la Instinct this time last year..) people would have some accurate views about the performance.
£150 is a steal if the bat performs as well as billed in my book.
So want one of these but a bad time to have no money :(
Are prices going to be this cheap - what's the usual price for these? Sorry if this has been asked :(
-
Any lighter bats?
-
Beautiful bat and stunning price, shame about the weight.
-
Any lighter bats?
Good question :(
-
If I knew exactly who made these bats and where then I would possibly part with £150 for a 'best' willow bat. I don't like the idea of buying one without knowing anything about it other than it's shape!
It is tempting though. :)
-

Thankyou Tom and from a man who truly knows his bats :)

Is this the only profile you are selling atm, or do you have any others..? :)

good luck and thanks
-
Have photos been taken yet? Or could you elaborate for us please? :)

Get your cheque book out Johan, I reckon your gonna buy something tonight. ;)
-
Err...how much is shipping? In the UK and of course, overseas.... :(
-
From UK to North America it is from £30-£40, that's standard rates.
Obviously I doubt BB would do that for free haha
-
Very interested to see your other bats Mr BB :D, when will your website be up and running?
-
i want one!

These bats are based on some of the most expensive bats available in the world today.
Hi BB and welcome to the forum.
This bat 1 looks very nice with generous proportions, and I would imagine is based on a Laver & Wood (Ultra). As the statement above mentioned offering bats based on some of the most expensive bats available in the world today, I would guess that a Screaming Cat profile may be a second shape on the cards? If so, what series could it be similar to? Also, what would the 3rd shape be similar to?
-
Hello Mr Hosk, thankyou for your warm welcome :)
You seem very clued up, when i put pics of the next bats up i will let you guess accordingly- i think you will get them though ;)
-
Rob I'm going to resist purely as I don't need another bat lol! BB will be my next port of call I feel!

GLad you have seen the light :)
-
I've been fortunate to see some pics of the bats in stock and the bats provenance and for £150 this bat is a steal. Surely we can't all be bat light weights?

Bat 1 is an Amplus through and through imo ;)

I can see why you might think that but this is a completely custom bat made to our specs, but appreciate you think it looks like a £300+ bat :)
-
I recon that's a belter. If any of you guys are heading down here to play (esp Perth), this is the profile youll need, although 2.12 would be considered heavy (assuming a good grade of cricket), but you guys seem to use much heavier bats, as long as you can hook & cut quicks.
-

Well, owning a Porsche and a car that looks like a Porche are 2 different things.
Would it perform like one as well i.e. Like a £300+ bat?
What grade willow is this?
-
From where this bat comes, it will be a good one for sure. But as good as a SPS or similar grade?
-
we have a few shapes in mind that will be released in 2012.

I might be wrong, but you may struggle to sell many in this profile in the UK due to the nature of the wickets (at least up north).
Also weight will be a concern mate. This is a good big and heavy bat (2lb13oz)n but most people will be looking for a 2lb8oz to 2lb10oz or thereabouts and for that weight you will have to sacrifice a lot of the stunning profile/size.
I have been to quite a few retailers in the past weeks and most of their stock of senior bats in 2lb7oz to 2lb10oz followed by a very small percentage in 2lb12 and above.
Most companies are now trying to offer big and light bats, so maybe you are rowing against the tide.
But for £150 you will find a lot of takers as this is a very competitive price point.
Btw, what grade is the willow and the grading process?
-
totally agree - 80% of people won't be interested in this bat due to the weight, however good it is.
-
Whilst admittedly this bat is heavy on the scales, its pick up more than makes up for that. Agreed this weight will not be everyone's cup of tea but we are all different. We have every confidence in our bats, and believe they perform as well as any. Thank you for comments we will take these on board. it is our aim to provide a good quality product at a very competitive price.
-
You're on the right track BB, the same bat in 2.8 -2.10 is gold

Was watching fox sports earlier, where the pinacle of English athleticism was being showcased in televised darts.

no it's because we play on puddings against donkey droppers with an outfield of knee deep grass, where only a tree will get the thing off the square. Quick bowling on hard bouncy decks and we'll all be dropping bat weights in search of bat speed.

Most would drop weight I play on some quick decks and against some very sharp bowling with the county lot but I'm the low % that still feels comfortable with a heavy bat must be my svelt figure
No takers on this yet then hmmmmm
-
There has been plenty of interest, but no takers yet
Isn't this a bit light for you Roco?
