Desperate for April to come! Been netting but its just not the same as a match
-
yeah same, cant wait for the season to begin :D
-
Haven't been netting either due to family, school commitment and I miss it like no tomorrow.
I shadow bat everytime when I get a chance haha
-
I had a net outdoors this morning. Grim.
On the bright side there's only 4 months to go.. :)
-
it cant come quick enough!!
i bet you were freezing johan! did you net on the astro?
-
Been netting indoors since October but missed the last 3 weeks due to a dodgy back. Starting again January 9th. Looking forward to the new season now that we've moved to a different league.
-
Haven't even had news yet of when our club nets start :(
-

Haha it was cold and muddy :( - Was in our nets which are usually pretty bouncy so they play well in the Winter. Was batting for most of it anyway so happy days :)

I have been having a few bowling machine sessions which have helped. I have also been teaching my son how to knock in a bat, he loves loud noises and the shiny stickers (especially the new saf ones!) so a relatively dull job has been more fun!
we also went to hamleys today too...
-
our winter nets start this sunday :D 10am though, i really don't want to get up that early!
-
I haven't even been able to play much indoor cricket due to injury! And all my indoor training for Dorchester starts a week friday and I can't do it :(
-
I think the crazy winter spending spree some of us have been on has been to reduce the winter depression!
-
not wrong there buzz!!!
im really looking forward to the season!
had two nets now with my club on a sunday and i have been batting pretty good tbh!

I have to agree with that -.- 6 bats, a pair of pads, thigh pads, 6 pairs of gloves and a pair of spikes later, I can't wait for the season to being

Well guys you are all welcome to come on a pre season tour to Malaga,Spain. We have played matches the last 2 Sundays(20C) and it hasnt rained here since November last year :D. You would be surprised how cheap it is and we have had plenty of interest or this year.
-
We are Touring 'Sunny' Blackpool in early April this year but I think my club will be interested next year for sure !!!!
-
I never got round to doing a topic on the tours we do. Have a look at www.spanishcrickettours.com.
If anyone wants a pre season or after season tour I will make sure you are looked after.
-

i think we're playing two mixed games, yeah judging from the pics its a beaut doubt there will be much of a crowd tho lol, could be lively in early April as well. Do you recommend any clubs, decent restaurants, breakfast bars? think there's around 20+ going so should be great!!
Below is the biggest 'Stadia' we have in Cornwall so cant wait lol

Have to admit I've never been to Blackpool to socialise - my missus works in Blackpool, but if we go out we tend to stick in Preston.

England women are playing India at this ground (Truro) this summer, there will be a temporary stand on the boundary this photo was taken from I imagine. The boundary to the right has permanent seats along the fence and the boundary to the left is a grassy picnic area with a river in the background.
The other team we're playing on Tour is Bac/ee preston if thats makes sense to anyone who plays up that way!
-
BAC/EE is British Aircraft Corporation / English Electric; 2 Aircraft manufacturers who merged in the 20th century. They were later known as British Aerospace and are currently part of BAe Systems, my current employer. The BAe factory in Preston was shut and knocked down in the 90's, but the sports and social club it left behind is still going strong.
Be careful on the way to the ground, as there is another Cricket Club on the same road, Preston CC (my old team) - people often get the 2 mixed up, including a Times journalist who was supposed to be doing a feature on Preston CC but inadvertently ended up doing a piece based on the wrong club!
I can't recommend highly enough the pub next door to BAC/EE, The Continental. Not really a party pub, but serves great food and definitely the best beer and cider in Preston, quite often accompanied by live music
