Does anyone have any pointers or comments about Ishan 950 batting gloves? Seen a good deal for some..
Comments welcome!

I have and have used them for a while, they are very good gloves for the price tag they carry. They are comfortable and have got brilliant protection and they are quite light too!
I'd recommend them to you (assuming you are getting a good deal as you said)

Asad was meant to be getting them in i think so he is worth a shout

I was very tempted by the price on here.
Tried a friends on and they are very nice gloves for the money

My mate ordered off there, and they had pittards

They have Indian Pittards.
-
So they don't have pittards then......

true not genuine pittard

sller seems ok. he had some terrific offers on bats a few months ago

Ihsan gloves are certainly worth a go, considering them a number of players not sponsored them have used em (afridi, Pollard) speaks volumes of the quality.
-
They have Indian Pittards.
the are piitardsisque leather palms. Pittards to my knowledge is a brand and the texture of the gloves is basically achieved via some process. To my knowledge the textured palms are made locally, you need a few hundred pairs as a minimum to get it done though.

Seems my experience has been the complete opposite to others... Bought these recently on the basis that they're Ishans top range gloves and task sports on eBay are selling them for middle of the road money...
They're certainly light and the protection seems pretty good, however they don't 'look' to be that well put together or with the use of quality materials... But the worst aspect is comfort. Although regular men's size they're very tight and the cupping for the thumb protection is really uncomfortable...
So despite having bought them as a second pair of gloves to use in practice, they'll more than likely be going back.

I can't believe people still trot out such crap, god knows how many times I've typed it on here. Pittards leather involves water resistant and ceramic proofing of the leather, they also cut a variety of patterns into the leather. What you get is people copying the pattern and nothing more but claiming it is the same. Every time I see it I see someone looking for a cheap trick.
-
Pittards comes from Yeovil so needs to be bought at source and shipped out to the manufactuer to cut it out for use in the gloves.
Genuine Pittards will carry a tag stating that its the real deal
-
Presumably there are some who make copies but just not form Yeovil though?
-
Pittards never patented the designs in the leather so people can copy the pattern, but thats all they do in inferior leather. You should think what kind of company wants to fake a product and what that says about them.
Having spent half a day with them in Yeovil I learnt a lot about what they do and have forgotten most of it but the best leather comes from Ethiopian Sheep as they kill them once fully grown and so you get a strong yet soft hide. We don't eat mutton here and so lamb leather is too soft for the job.

But nobody has copied the full process, was what i meant?
-
No, they are the only people who can do what they do.
-
Mike, I know what you mean etc however M&H Distinction gloves have same type of leather palm as Inferno 950, they don't have 'Pittards' tag either but they claim it (on website etc), so they are wrong right?
-
I know who makes those M&H gloves and they are fake Pittards, I've made the point to M&H directly and thought the claim had been removed from their site.
-
Cheers mate, good job in making them aware :D
Even side of gloves say Pittards if I remember correctly haha
Mind telling who makes there? RS?
-
The real ones tend to have a Pittards tab sewn in.
Trying not to disclose who does what any more, sorry.
-
Cheers pal, no worries :)
I can always PM and ask ;-)
