Just fancy seeing scores that you guys have made over the season thats just passed.
Highest Score I had was 91, which came in the last game of the season.
Also had a side that knocked up 333 from 40 overs. Luckily I didn't much of the bludgeoning, managed to survive with 8-0-32-0
-
My highest was 158, out of 307-4. Was out off the last ball of the innings.
-
321-3 Ackworth v Old Sharlston
highest score in league was againts us doh!

Scored 109, the local paper ran the headline 'Sparrow flips St Minver bowlers the Bird' lol
Team had 260/4 at home not a good year for team totals :(
-
Good going. Wonder if anyone reached the 200 mark!
Here are my Dorchester Stats if anyone wants to read them.

Personal high score was 116*
Team high score was 333-0, the innings i got my seasons high score in lol
http://www.boxmoorcricketclub.co.uk/scorecard/fixtureID_187306/Sunday-1st-XI-v-Flamstead--11-Sep-2011.aspx
Their bowler Greensmith turned up in an EDL shirt and got a rather ironic black eye when one reared off the deck into his face, added to 4-0-60-0 i dont think he had a great day!
-
My top score was 32 :-[
-
91 off 63 was my highest, best was 60 off 27, and 56* off 34 though. Can't remember the highest score team wise, but I'm sure Bucha will revel in telling you all lol :D.

Firstly, it was only against the Isle of Wight lol ;) Secondly, I thought you were australian
Edit: I'm quite the detective lol, I get it now. And seeing as it wasn't Christian being big time lol, it was a bloody good innings hehe :-[
-
I seen Christian play last year in a County Youth match at Newquay and believe i'm right in saying that his first 5 scoring shots were 6s

you saw him play at newquay? who do you play for and where are you from?
-
Yes your right in saying that! And your right isle of wight are awful but a hundred is a hundred, I was intact using a BAS blank bat that awards son had lent me whilst I was waiting my 2 months to get a GM back from the factory, did you enjoy the Newquay innings alba caerulea?
-
Asads son*
-
Very entertaining. As was the talent on show in the bar
-
I also forgot to post, that 3 or 4 seasons ago, I saw a team-mate rack up 199, some of the cleanest hitting I've see in village cricket. However unfortunately for him, he was runout on 199 going for 200th run.
-
i hit 112 in a total of 292 in 40 overs. However we lost the game which was a record as both their openers got hundreds and chased it down with ease!
-
Christian, I'd love to have your talents mate, played fella :) - What did you get when you opened in the 2nd innings it doesn't say? ??? I presume about 40!!
Highest individually was 110* and our team's highest score was 320/6 (Sunday game though lol..)
-
My highest score last year was 101. No idea about team scores though
-
My highest was 114, team highest was probably around the 280/290 mark.
-
Anyone else like that Christian's initials are CBF?
-
my highest was 117*... team highest was 284-4 off 48 overs
-

Yeah, nice little coincidence - like it was meant to be :)

I reckon the highest score of Chard's 2nd team season was against us? In this thriller of a match...?!
http://chard.play-cricket.com/scoreboard/scorecard.asp?id=11122114
Christian, first of all top effort on that ton! Also, how is that Hamza guy doing for Glos? Played against him at our place this year and he looked pretty sharp.

31 wides!!! Is it legside wides?
-
Yep! Everything down leg... a few harsh calls that game as well if I remember correctly! We did our best to lose that game.
-
great game by the looks of it! i hope that matt sully guy got motm!!?!!
-
Haha! I reckon so, fair to say he was pretty knackered afterwards!

Will be playing against him this year (assuming he has not moved on) as Stapleton got relegated. Is he any good??
-
Ahh of course! He was quick to be fair, but erratic against us and went for a few. If he was more accurate I reckon he'd be dangerous!
-
If he is with Glos I wouldnt be surprised if he moved on to a higher standard, although we played against a Glos lad last year (against Lansdown) and he was rather sharp.
-
Ah Jordan Price? I don't know the story with Hamza? Maybe Christian can help us out? Lol
-
Yep - Jordan Price. He had a shocker against us but was rapid - believe he has moved on to Corsham, but not 100% sure....

Love that match report - classic sooking "if only we'd been given the LBW"...
...One wonders what they expected St Andrews to do - it was their first XI, are they really supposed to turn players down for being too good?
-
That match report is embarrassing. I wonder if people writing them sometimes forget that people outside of their club will have access to them as well
-
Indeed - I mean, I've written plenty myself and sometimes you have to give a one sided account for team morale - there was a game over at Caversham that springs to mind when their umpire failed to give the plumbest LBW I've ever seen and the lad went on to get a ton. Fact is, we got an extra 50 for the last wicket after one of the batsmen failed to walk for a thin edge and there was an element of "revenge" involved...
Of course, the all time classic was written by our league secretary, who simply wrote "the spirit of cricket died on Kew Green today" after one of his players was given out handled the ball! :D
-
Haha amazing stuff coming from the league secretary!
-
I think there are circumstances where certain players just shouldn't be taking part in games. I played a midweek works league game here in Sheffield and we went for 300 in 20 overs as they had a south African pro playing who got something like 215. He was pretty good but was helped by really short boundaries and us having most of our usual bowlers out.
To me he shouldn't have played as the league rules prohibit pro's but I think because he wasn't a pro for the team we were playing against he was allowed. Just a bit daft really him playing against us, nothing against him as he was a good bloke but doesn't really feel right to me and stopped some of their other players getting a go.
In proper league cricket where pro's are allowed no issue at all, play your best team.

Reminds me of playing against Ijaz Ahmed (the Pakistan international) in the Hawke Cup. Now, the Hawke Cup, for those not raised in the wilds of North Yorkshire, was a 20 over competition before they became fashionable, and was played on a handicap basis so that small village sides could compete with decent club sides. My club were on +45 for the game in question, and ran up 161 on the back of a couple of late cameos (I got a punchy 8 off three balls!) so went into the field reasonably confident of defending 207 given our bowling attack had three lads who had played Yorkshire schoolboys, one then current first class player for the Combined Services, a West Indian who was far from slow and a wily old spinner. Fourteen overs and four balls later Ijaz had 171* and it was all over...
-
We had a double ton hit against our 1s in 2010, he was dropped on 6 too.
-
My highest score was 78 which was hugely disappointed to get out on considering the pitch, bowlers and match situation.
Highest teams score was 313, of which I got 6 before being caught with a wonder catch in the second over before the the run rest begun
-
Highest was a guest appearance for my mates college in Cambridge - 138* in a total of 339-3. Club, a meagre 84 last year :-[

played at Kew several times, normally doesn't require that much to bowl teams out. Up there in my top 10 worst places to play - people walking across the pitch on the public footpath, no parking due to pubs and churches, horrible deck (we were once 1-4 there), dog poo on the pitch and crowd chirp you, even though they possess no cricketing ability whatever. That said, haven't had any problems with their players, good lads and cricketers.

They've improved quite a bit in the last few years as a club - they've got a Saffer called Bruce Friedrichs who gets a thousand league runs a year without fail and a Barbadian called Kidron Thomas who is sharp even if most teasm think he chucks it. The ground is still a bit average though - my biggest complaint is the abuse from passing cars!
Should state for the record that the match report referred to was not one in which I or my club played by the way!

My father called him for Chucking in a league game I think (he's an ECB Premier League Standard Umpire) or had words with the captain. They were improving when I last play them in 2006, had an aussie in the 2's who hit the ball very hard straight.

Think I know who your Dad is then. Bloody good umpire for what its worth.
-
Ian- yes it is hamza and from what I know he's always improving, and yes it's Jordan price as well, he was contracted on a scholarship programme for us last year. Very very quick!
-

Short dark haired guy. loves to give an LBW (when it's out - not a dickie bird type) and probably fairly chatty. If that's the one you are thinking of?

Yep. Nice bloke; one of the few umpires to trigger me when I didn't overly mind (it probably was out and the bowler was seriously sharp on an awful deck!)

I remember playing a school game against this Oliver guy the week after he did this, one accidental beamer from my friend right on his bicep did the trick, and i got him out cheaply next over! My friend actually printed off quotes from his newspaper interviews, needless to say he was probably glad to get out after receiving a lot of banter about what he had been saying to the papers about turning pro!
-
Holy crap-balls. 329 off 144 balls and more sixes than fours

i can safely say he scored that in a terribly poor standard, sunday 3rd team, he got more runs that innings than he got last season playin 1st team
and hes a (No Swearing Please) aswell
-
oh and 17no off 7 balls my highscore last season
best is 130no
-
If your scoring a triple century in a 50 over game the bowling has to be complete and utter pies, or your Ex-pro. Think the highest in Cornwall is 300* in Div 7 west. I think the biggest challenged is keeping your concentration and not get bored lol, nothing to do with talent imo lol
-

will have been dog bowling, a lot of juniors play 3rd team in the aire wharfe so i imagine a few junior bowlers
and the ground it was played at isnt very big either
can only bat against whats in front of you,but it does take some of the gloss off it
-
I agree with it must had been alot of dross. Still really got to do it though aswell havent you?
I bet he still goes round saying he has a 'triple hundred' to his name.
Is this bloke alot better than 3's cricket?
-
yeh fair play to him needs some credit
but yes most definately, hes moved clubs since and plays first division 1st team
not sure why he was even playin in the 3rds
iv seen him out and about a few times at games, hes got a bit of a swagger
look forward to playing against him next year, can assure you i wont be very nice to him from behind the stumps
-

For sure it's a great achievement and if he still plays at that level I'd imagine all the youths around him hear about it every game lol. Can't be good for those poor bowlers
I'd've made him retire at 100 lol
-
he was playing because he played school cricket on the Saturday.
