-
Stroud CC, Lisvane CC, Calne CC, Corsham CC. First few that spring to mind.
-
i will have a look at there websites now :)
-
lullington cc and ticknall cc
-
Broadhalfpenny Down.....Lovely ground, lovely pub and just about as historic as you can get! The 'cradle of cricket' I think it's called?
-
Bishopston CC too
-
played at Elvaston a few years ago in a national cup thing ... always remember it as a nice enough with a massive tree inside the boundary rope
-
Cleethorpes, Scarborough, Castleford, Headingley, Blackpool, Barrow
-
baileys bay CC
my favourite ... but a shcoking pitch!

-
Top Five:
1. RAF Vine Lane
2. Bledlow Village
3. Hovingham
4. Scarborough CC
5. Bank Of England
-
Love a bit of North Marine Road!
-
What defines the best ground? My favourite ground doesnt have amazing facilities, but the pitch has something in it for the bowlers. As opposed to my home ground is fantastic, but is a bowlers graveyard

that tree is annoying, placed right in cow corner to the right hander 2 runs dead ball when it would've gone for 6 :(
-
Richmond CC is probably the best I have played at....

Depends really, doesn;t it, in that my five are favourites for different reasons - Vine Lane because it has such a lovely atmosphere and a really nice batting wicket, Bank for that bit more pace and bounce and the cream teas, Scarborough because I remember giving David Bairstow throwdowns on the outfield when I was about nine and have loved the place ever since, Hovingham because its lovely and there is something so "English" about taking tea in a Manor house, Bledlow because of the steam train and red kites....
-
Bledlow also use to do Sunday lunch prior to the game if you turned up early enough. Don't see the point of this thread without pictures ;)
-
Ticknall CC is a nice ground.
-

Quite agree on the pictures. Bledlow is also one of the few places left where you geta crowd, and the last place I've been clapped off by home fans!
-
I always enjoyed climbing the hill at Londesborough park cc during our batting innings.
-
lullington cc and ticknall cc
Both awesome grounds but in that neck of the woods id say dunstall is the best
-
What with the oval velodrome round half of it
Got to agree the setting at Richmond is special
-
Just to re-enforce what a good deck it is at North Marine Road, here's a match report for my former team
http://www.thisisgrimsby.co.uk/Meggies-lose-final-game-thriller/story-16881705-detail/story.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
500+ runs in September!?!

I played at Old Brentwood's for 16 year's beautiful ground, sporting wicket. Though the best I have played on I must say is the ground at John Paul Getty's home in Buck's. The wicket is county standard, but the scenery around it is awesome, absolutely beautiful.

Interesting you say Stroud.. I'll be playing there this year against them. Look forward to it now

A mate played for Richmond for the last year or two. He's at my club this year but will be back there next year. he said its awesome

I play for Corsham, but it is the best ground I've played at. A lot of other grounds don't come close.
-
Chesterfield CC, Queens Park great ground :D
i always like playing at blidworth CC in notts (always get runs) and ashover cc in derbyshire (hit maiden and only 50 there)
-
have to say, I think the best ground to play at is: Stowe school 1XI pitch, absolutely awesome
http://static.cricinfo.com/db/PICTURES/CMS/52300/52343.jpg (http://static.cricinfo.com/db/PICTURES/CMS/52300/52343.jpg)
doesnt show it off fully, but Northamptonshire 2nd XI play there, and it is amazing

My memories of Ashover was snow on the ground and it being bloody freezing! Enjoyed Blidworth last year with a quick fire 40 odd not out in a run chase after a nice little 3 for 20 odd from a 13 over spell, but it's not very picturesque but a nice ground all the same.

that reminds me of papplewick and linby a little
and the grounds i said above arent the prettiest of grounds but they were decent grounds for me personally except queens park which is really pretty and is derbshires out ground
-
Liverpool CC is a lovely ground to play at!

Long walk for a duck would be old brentwoods ground. Need to call a taxi from the pavilion to the square. But yes, a sporting wicket.
We have been drawn against Windsor in the conference cup, shame its at our ground as i would not mind playing with Windsor castle as a back drop

Love going to Liverpool! Unfortunately they're not in our league this season :(

Never get tired of playing at home

I think they shot a bollywood movie there it was called Patiala House, which starred D Gower, N Hussain and A Tudor, some of it shot at Stowe, looked beautiful.
-
Yep
Made my gf drive round to it when I went to Cadbury World, spotted it when going in and looked like a cracking ground. The pavilion was very old school!
-
If anybody has played at the Royal Hospital School, that is a lovely place to play cricket. Great pitch with a background to match!
-

It is an odd ground Windsor - the second and third squares are better than the main one!
Excellent teas mind!
-
Best ground I played at in England was Sidmouth, Brilliant ground right on the water.
-
Colwyn Bay CC Looking after a young Tom Maynard whilst his old man was plundering runs
Cholomendy CC With its castle overlooking the ground
Neston CC always a good track and especially now the redevelopments have been completed and can sneak out for stunning ice creams from the nearby shop
like a lot of grounds that have good views especially of mountains trying to work out the names and where they are as mountain hiking are another of my hobbies
-
Lynton cc
Stunning setting and nice short boundaries
-
the Parks in Oxford. Childhood memory of Ian Botham hitting the ball over the pavilion.
-
North Perrott. The ground was levelled by the Americans after the war so they could play baseball there. Lovely pavilion with balconies off of the changing rooms.
-

The first time i played you guys i was gutted you only really had use of the basement at the pavillion. I felt cheated
-
Yep
I must play here!
-
Though the best I have played on I must say is the ground at John Paul Getty's home in Buck's.
My mate is one of the grounds staff a Wormsley. we have the OCA league groundsman courses at the ground. wonderful place, the pavilion is just so quaint.

Bridgetown Cricket Club, Devon.
Magnificent ground. You have to walk across a small foot bridge to get to the ground.

Grew up not far from Neston and have played at all those grounds. And you're right the Ice Cream from Parkgate is very good especially if you visit the chippy before!

If any of you are in the North East - check out Raby Castle CC.
Probably the best I've played at for scenery.
-
It is picturesque but not a great track
Deck was ok the 2 times I played on it.

Only thing spoiling this is Square Leg umpires socks.

Probably the best I've played at for scenery.
Sheep graze on the outfield between games or they used to, played havoc with the whites.
-
Best ground I've played at Hong Kong CC
-
Richmond CC is probably the best I have played at....
Where Middlesex play a T20? If so, I was a bit disappointed when I visited.
-
Not the best ground in terms of pitch quality, but easy on the eye nevertheless; Englefield in Berkshire.
