Please post your Top 3 Iconic shots, the shots that will always live in your memory and you get goosebumps seeing them back!!
Here's mine
Nathan Astle - the 3rd one is the best for me
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNPCUqCCii4
Eoin Morgan - Just Incredible and easy to forget
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDcgElEcO3M
Vaughan in his pomp

-
Nothing is close to Micheal Vaughan's that is absolutely fantastic! Perfect!
-
flintoff smashing the ball into the crowd and being dropped by his dad.
Brian Charles Lara pulling the ball for four to to reach 366
-
IVA hook shot. Never wore a lid And played against some of the fastest bowlers of all time. Was lucky enough to watch him live on many occasion. He's was 20 years ahead of his time.
Just have a look on YouTube. I could watch him all day.
-
Second would be beefy hooking lillie out the ground at headingly in 1981.
-
Third and a bit more upto date. Chris gale pumping bret lee out of the oval a few years ago.

^ Best ever by a distance.

flintoff smashing the ball into the crowd and being dropped by his dad.
I remember where I was when that happened. Sat on the sofa (should have been revising) watching channel 4

These first two games I was at which is why they stick in the memory
Eoin Morgan hitting a straight 4 off a seamer to bring up his ton and win the game for England V Australia at the Rose Bowl in 2010. Unbelievable innings
Any one of about 5 pull shots from Michael Vaughan off the bowling of Brett Lee at Edgbaston in 2004. Trescothick was quality aswell but I was sat square of the wicket and Lee was rapid at the time. Vaughan was a lovely player to watch when in form
3rd one for me has to be Mark Butcher playing on the rise through point during his 173 at Headingley in 2001. I think this is still, all things considered, the best test innings I have seen from an England batsman. I think the stroke at around 4.15 in the video below is the pick
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPEpkMTArww
-
My first ever test match was 1993, England v Aus at Trent Bridge. We were sat square of the wicket and the clatter that the advertising boards made when when Robin Smith smashed a square cut into them off Brendan Julian is something that will stick with me forever
-
The first shot in this vid.............I used to love watching Sir Viv but it was always this guy in that WI team that excited me the most...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2o7rCre5FjE
And in this video the shot he plays at 1 min Serious power from Beefy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQ4FzJLWhYc&feature=related
-
I'll never forget Viv Richards at Lord's when he moved across his stumps, Mike Hendrick bowled a full toss headed for middle stump, and Richards flicked it for 6 over square leg, last ball of the innings .. I think he had 189 n.o.
-
At the Oval this summer with M77, watching Chris Gayle launch England's best out of the ground. The flat six to square of Bresnan (I think, or maybe it was Jimmy) that hit the scoreboard before bouncing, and the other on to the pavilion roof. Incredible power...
-
I remember that day so well Arvind as well I scored my first ever 50 playing for Somerset u13's. Remember going home and watching the highlights. Richie benaud commentating when Derek Pringle bowls and Viv hits him for a huge six into the confectionary store and back out again.
-
it beggars belief what these guys might've done with the bats they use nowadays, Sir Viv with one of Gayles clubs would be proper carnage.

Love this. This video also leaves me with a question that needs answering. With the recent surge in demand for retro cricket gear, when will the mullet-and-tache combo come back into vogue?

Tache- only in November
There was the old England top on ebay a week or two ago like in the clip
-
Just thought of another. When beefy comes into bat in an ashes test match and smacks Craig McDermott for 6 first ball and the another and the a couple of fours and then out. Just incredible confidence and self belief.
-
Keiron, that's what 12man posted
-
Ah sorry missed that.
-
Yuvraj hitting Broad for six 6's, after being given a mouthful by Freddie.
-
All hail Viv Richards , The coolest batsman ever to grace the earth.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EKVdAwsyYxM (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EKVdAwsyYxM)
Tendulkar,the king of straight drives.

How to start
Best bit of this video is Thomson taking the catch and sticking his fingers up at the crowd. They'd be an outroar nowadays.
-
Watch some of the Damien Martyn vids on YouTube; that guy was one seriously good timer of a cricket ball. Some of those push drives are just ridiculous! He was very unfortunate to have such competition during his time...
-
Ashley giles turning shane warne into the leg side to win the 3rd (i believe) ashes test in 2005 was excellent.
K.P Smashing Glen McGrath back over his head at Lords in the same year was pretty special as well

Wonderful off the back foot with a straight bat, the best ive seen. He had a decent run in the Australian side from memory

i love kallis's face in this
-

Not quite. Viv scored 138 that day off 157 balls, Collis King scored faster 86 off 66 balls. Viv's 189no was 5 years later and at Old Trafford.
-
Gower. Pulling, so effete and graceful, a symbiosis between him and willow. An air of dismissive ease. Perfection.
-
That Vaughn shot is stunning.
I love this one of Eoin Morgan:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tuB4lstPbIs
The reverse reverse sweep.
Talent, great eye, amazing think on the spot ingenuity. not the biggest shot or important game, definitely not textbook but up there for cheek and improvisation
-
Second would be beefy hooking lillie out the ground at headingly in 1981.
I thought that Beefy hooking Lillee for repeated sixes happened at Old Trafford not Headingley
-
Only mcullum has the balls to play those shots against Tait!

-
This just sticks in my memory

-
I've always enjoyed Sanath Jayasuriya in general, but this shot has always been my favourite: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jDWtRRg5GY
I'm also a big fan of Kumar Sangakkara's cover drive: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5wTck0Hslg
-
Here is one of my favourite, first shot of the video by Saeed Anwar.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ks9zcsJLQJE
Impeccable timing!
-
has anyone got any poetic shots of Inzimam he was another of my favourite players!

The 6 he hit in the semi final of the World Cup in 92 against NZ was rather special!!
-
Quite a few spring to mind. Robin Smith's square cut was one from my youth - a thing of utterly certainty and brutality. Also Tendulkar's shimmy down the wicket to loft the spinners. Virgil's cover drive, also.
-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SwIznDhXRs this has to stand out as something rarely seen and so iconic but a MV cover drive or ponting pull for me
-
actually thinking about it, Jim Love hitting David Thomas repeatedly onto the roof of the football stand at Headingley has to be up there too.
-
Here's six pretty iconic efforts

With that big Kippax bat! ;)
one of my earliest cricketing memories - he id it first on the telly in the B&H Cup semi on, I think, the Wedneday - I made my parents stay in on holiday in Scotland so I could watch it. Then on the Sunday Dad took me to the game and Love made 118* including four huuuuuuge blows.
-
One of IVA...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0VROvuMY6mA&feature=related
-
Steve Waugh back foot drive still sticks in my mind - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFrfaCodRAs
-
i think my back foot forcing shot in my living room narrowly missing my brothers head and shattering a fish tank was pretty iconic lol.
on a serious note i was always a fan of Martyn and obviously as mentioned some of Vivs were amazing.

Here is rather a good pull shot;
