Smith's looks very GM to me.
Clarke's very Asian made with the big swell. He must really like it with all the face tape he has on it at the moment

Not convinced of the Asian made but anything is possible got the flat toe look of the maker I referring too but guess the Asian boys now can churn out any shape

Never mind Clarke's bat, Hussey's was going like a rocket on day one!
The six he hit to get to his 100, bullet off the bat.

I always got an impression that Hussey bats are made by Julian Millichamp. I don't know what make me assume that.

I think Clarke's bat looks like an older style bradbury.

Always liked bats like Smith's with the more parallel, less tapered edges. Think it just feels more substantial in my hands.

Looks very similar indeed!

People always seem to comment on Brendan McCullum's bats, especially sometimes on commentary. I know they are made down in Coventry by the batmaker at V Sports. Unbelievable the look of them..

His Spartan profile has a hint of the old Kookaburra CCX about it - or is that just me? Think it's the shape of the toe....

Great share mate thanks, interesting that he appears to use the same bat for every type of conditions..

No worries - It would have been brilliant if those numbers were at least visible so we could depict his profile. It is a lovely profile really.

I think that is wisest move because by doing such you're wholly used to the stick and know its perfect location. If you change your bat every series then it can rather take time to get used to it.

love the bradbury theorists i suspect he has his pick though

Clarke said that his bats are made in Australia - said it while at a Kingsgrove sport centre a little while back.

Surely all the top end ones are made there though? Or am I missing something? :-[

If Spartan are making bats that are made exactly to his spec and feel, then wouldn't it be kind of odd that he uses from someone else? Or maybe he finds that a different batmaker makes them better or something. Whoever makes his bats is doing a fine job of it! 8)

The same could be said for a lot of players' bats though. But it is always fun to speculate!

I have a Spartan CG Authority and it's a 100 per cent Aussie made and not an Asian rip off, and yes it was purchased from Kingsgrove sports. Only thing i would say is be prepared to pay about 100 quid to import it and that hurt a little bit as mine was stuck in customs till i paid up.

Are you sure it's Australia made? Never heard of them being made over here.

So if we order a Spartan CG or MC then we will get an Australian made stick? More specifically same shape as players?

From speaking to the guys at kingsgrove yes all Spartans are made in oz, and mine ended up being made from the best of the best willow as the first one was a little blemished so i had to wait another 4 weeks but have to say i love the profile and its a belter in the nets and also when i play 20/20,

The guys at Kingsgrove tell little white lies then.

“The MC 329 is made from quality sourced English willow and made in our factory in Jalandhar in northern India,” Davis said.

Yeah, Indian made, but don't hold it against them, they're nicely shaped bats!

The speculation is so much fun I tried once over to pinpoint many bats and where they where made I found out there so much outsourcing and dark arts it just mad.

I think a few have told so many whoppers like the mg 2 bloke who randomly turns up and offers tendulkar a bat low and behold a camara man there.

Myth busters

" HARRY : For all those wondering how much it weighs - It only weighs 2 lb 8.5oz. The bats were magical and certainly not concaved. Like Michael Clarke, he prefers the fuller back. This is easy to do when these players are two of the best in the world! Believe it or not, I have seen Michael's Spartans and Sangakarra's SS and they both wanted their bats lightened further to 2 lb 7.5 oz. Miraculously, our Bat repairer Simon managed the job well. He is an absolute marvel!! These players swear by him not to mention players such as Shane Watson, Steve Smith and Brad Haddin amongst others."

Says Kingsgrove Sports. Super light bats.
