As the topic suggests i could do with another bat as everyone at my club has at least 2 bats of more, At the moment i have a Spartan CG Authority i got from Australia no indian rip off, My dilemma is i want to spend about 200 notes on one as i want it to be a good very good spare, i like the idea of a highish middle as i like a good drive, i have been thinking about the new Maverick from GN and also the new V1200 from Slaz,
anyone have any other options i would be glad to hear

Our BOMBORA has a high middle, thick edges and profile is balanced towards a lighter pick up. The MP+1 is premium grade 1 willow and priced at £200.00
There's a few forum owners that will tell you how pleased they were when they got one this last season. Have a peek in the BlueRoom section, I'm sure there's images, reviews there mate.
Good luck with the bat hunting.

Salix have some very nice offerings this year, new flat faces, exceptional workmanship and good prices, all have mid middles. This is just my opinion.
With that amount of money you have an amazing choice with all the forum brands plus sales from PDC and alike.

Pics of the cg authority are required me thinks

The V1200 is definitely not a high middle! Very asian profile aside from the double spine.
Menace could be a good bet as Paul said, we picked out some lovely Menace 700's a couple of weeks ago, 16 grains!
Flares have a high middle, we have plenty of these at various reduced prices in our sale topic.

Agree about the V1200, Jake - I've been knocking one in today. Fairly low middle...
Another good option would be a Newbery 'Cadbury' GT. Is it just me, or does it look like their middles are even higher now they've got the cadbury decals? I thought they would be exactly the same shape as the old black GT, but on the cadburys I've seen, the middles seem slightly higher to me...

What about the Gray Nicolls E41 500? It's got a mid sweet spot and looks great. Or the kook ricochet? That's just won a bat-off. I will admit that having just bought a dynadrive I think the E41 will be my next purchase!
-
I must add the shark bat i got from the guys on here was fantastic. hmid-high middle, fantastic response on the blade and i think i only paid £150 for it with the discount code at the time. You will be ruined for choice on here.

Upload to an image sharing website, e.g. photobucket. Go to the links and copy and paste the [img] code into your poste.

So what would people recommend if i want an of the shelf bat, a Gray nicholls E41 or Maverick, and if i went down the custom road, the Laver and wood seems a very nice looking bat and also the Great white Shark bat too looks a belter any opinions are always welcome

You're unlikely to get a brand new Laver for £150, but something might come up in the for sale section. I almost top edged a 6 with my shark to fine leg last season, which gives you an idea how well it goes!
Here's a review I did a few months back

Is it worth £200 just to fit in with everyone else? That's my first question. If your set on a 2nd bat you can get a lot of bat (all be in 2nd hand) for that money. There have been some cracking M&H bats going for 150 - 180 so my advice would be to try the 2nd hand market. After all, a second bat only sits in the dressing rooms till you get a duck, so you only get it out the game after to try and do something different...... Or is that just me haha

You could get a Vantage Lithium Players I grade for £170 at the moment.
This bat received high praise from a recent gear test where it came out as the best performing bat;

I've a Laver and Wood Ultra that I'd sell on for £150 if you want a Laver.

id recommend the forum sponsors like myself on here. you wont be disappointed who you use and for your budget pretty much all will be able to provide you with a high grade bat. Im more than happy to discuss a bat with you and make something to your specs in a shape that suits your game.
if you decide to go down the off the shelf route then again stick with the forum sponsors. the guys at IJC and Vitas amongst others are clearly knowledgeable, offer great customer service and hand pick their bats so they know they will all perform well.
like others have said, its your choice, you know what kind of bat fits your style of play - if you dont there is plenty of advice from the sponsors on here who can guide you aswell as the knowledgeable posters. if you can find something your happy with off the shelf at a good price then go for that. if not let the bat makers do their job and make something that puts a smile on your face.

Sorry Guys
But i've just ordered a Vantage Lithium players grade 1 from Matt, having seen a video he sent me i ca't wait to get my hands on it,
Main reasons where one price was right on the amount i wanted to spend but mainly because i love the profile of the bat and think a more traditional shape will suit my style of play, Plus Matt's a really nice guy to talk to and everything has been sorted out on both sides nice and quick.
so thanks for all the advice and help fella's its much appreciated and yes i will be sure to send in pic's of both the Lithium and also of my Spartan CG Authority
regards
Marc
