Title: Bat Advice
Post by: Gcricket on December 20, 2012, 09:00:42 AM
Hello,
I need a new bat, and was wondering if someone new anyone who was good and cheap? I am looking for a 2 pound 6 oz bat, lowish middle, thick edges, good straight grains and good rebound.
I am looking to spend about 180 pounds (negotiable), It doesn't have to be that exact specifications but close too.
I live in Australia so that's why I am not spending too much because postage will be about 40 pounds.
Thanks

For those specs and price, maybe check the MSR thread?

For that budget, you may have to compromise on aesthetics if you want a UK made bat.

You might want to Pm Johners77 (http://custombats.co.uk/cbforum/index.php?action=profile;u=2066) and he might be able to make you one for that amount maybe a little more + shipping cost...

You'll get a good bat off anyone on this forum mate, pick which stickers you like the best and proceed.

what bat don't I have lol.

I have a couple of vulcans, laver, h4l, I've had many a bat mate, all been very good!

I think you've just got to pick a profile that you've either got on with before and really like, or think that's going to work for your game. If a bat isn't right for your game, no matter how good the bat is, you won't like it

Yeah all ive really had is a slazenger i-blade xtreme, a powerbow 750i (gray niccolls) Got surface cracks and havent been bothered to really knock it in but is a really good bat so havent had much experience. I really like the look of Red Ink, expecially the Pyro

Alba on here had a custom red ink and it looks amazing. I would approach one if these guys via PM. The level of craftsmanship on here is something that not everyone has the opportunity to have, from a customisation point of view. Pick a cleft and go from there, it's a brilliant experience and will make you appreciate the bat more due to it being personal to you. However be aware you might not get on with it as custom bat cast offs are very common on the custom bat forum.

Phew..... 8)
