After selling my other bat I was in need of a wand to complete the collection so I pmd and mailed a few makers and many thanks to all who had the patience of saints with me as I'm fussy
Eventually I was informed bb were getting this in so waited on them to get it then after mails etc decided to go for it and glad I did as I had reservations about the weight as heavier than my normal bats but after tapping it up I decided to just man up as responds very well and has potential to be up there with the best bat I've ever used which was the h4l I liberated from Matt last year which was unreal
Ok onto bat
3lb1
1" long blade
42mm edges
67mm spine
Slight concave
16 straight grains
Apparently from a batch of bats made for Gayle when he was in uk
Bb chrome stickers

-

Thats too damn heavy for any man to use effectively!
-
If your interested i put a few pics up of my Spartan CG obviously the one endorsed by Gayle and the bat is amazing with such a light pick up as well.
-
Just felt little heavy but I'm used to extra weight now so will be fine

the pick up was so light ... felt like a bat under 3lb i asked if it was 2lb 15 and they said it was 3lb 4 xD apparently its the weight that he uses not my words , mikes
-
Might be the photo, but that doesn't look that massive to me?
Lovely willow though Roco
-
It's not huge for weight if I'm honest my ca is bigger but willow quality is top draw as its not all about size
Picks up about 2lb14/15 ish maybe I'm spoilt as ca picks up so light
-
Coin on edge please..... Only way to tell
-
Is this a narrow blade ? Looks nice but narrow ? Might just be the pic.
-
It's the pic as my ca is narrow and this is wider than that
-
Lovely grains on it. How wide is it ? Who made it for you in the end ?
-
Don't know bb guys just got hood of it you'd have to ask them
-
Just for you mike

Lovely bit o' willow roco. Who's going to help you lift it after a few overs? I'd be dragging it out of the pavilion on my way to bat. ;)
-
Bit off topic but they mentioned during one of the BBL games that Gayles bats were 2lb12oz.
P.S Nice piece of willow

I'd have thought he'll be using lighter sticks in oz because there quicker pitches possibly?
I'm not sure but I'm sure I've heard them mention in the IPL there around 3lb

I have heard from 2lb12oz to 3lb4oz so who knows

I guess he just picks a bat up and if he likes it, he has it. I reckon he could use a stick of rhubarb and still hit it further than a lot of people lol
-
I have a tweet from him that says 2lb14 so might just get different weights from different makers

Our usual batmaker made this beast
Standard width, just a longer blade
-
