We took delivery of 2 beautiful B&S Fireblades on Christmas Eve, with more coming in the new year.
I'm a big fan of the snazzy graphics, the camera doesn't do them justice, they really shimmer! I'm a big fan of the price too. £180.
The grainier one weighs in at 2'10, the other one weighs 2'8.5

If anyone is interested in getting hold of one, please give me a shout :)

look like belters
do they come with that extra tape around the toe??
-
Yes B&S seem to apply Fibreglass tape to all their bats before shipping them to us. They also apply a scuff sheet to the Supremes.
Bit of extra protection i suppose!
-
yeh not knocking it, just haven't seen it before
saves you a job i suppose
-
I dont know of anyone else that does it if i'm honest, i had never seen it until our 2012 B&S order arrived. I have started offering it as an option when people ask for bats to be knocked in, so yeah it saves me a job when i knock a B&S in!
-
Lovely bats mate, I was looking at B&S on your website the other day and these look amazing especially the grainier. TBH the tape on the toe is not for me though just looks odd IMO
-
Jake still waiting for my earlier request of top of the line B&S bat profile shot....
-
Whats the weight on that Supreme on left?
-
Bats look good, stickers look good, price is good. Toe tape makes them look poor. Should be done on request, it makes me think they have an issue with toes cracking.

Says 2lb 10 at the top of the posting mate
-
Very nice indeed. Are you stocking the softs?
-
I got to use some Bellingham and smith bats earlier in the year and the bats in question were of exceptional quality and the pressing superb considering they had not been knocked in and the response of the mallet very good indeed. It will be good to see them in the flesh and I have heard good things about their softs and their prices of the softs too!!!!
-
They look really good Jake! Shame about the fibreglass tape at the toe, I don't really like fibreglass tape like that. :-[ Much prefer to protect the whole bat with a helicopter antiscuff! I remember a friend of mine went on a tour of South Africa with a Scotland Youth squad and got his woodworm Hard Drive replicated by B&S. He really rated them highly from what I remember! 8)

knocked up both of these! and they really really where ping tastic!!

I can always remove it and clean up the face if removing leaves a mark/damages the wood fibres.
I've owned numerous b&s bats over the past ten years or so. Including one that lasted me 4 long, hard seasons before finally giving up the ghost. I've never seen or heard of one going in the toe.

We do indeed stock the softs, which are made of lovely soft leather.

Am really looking forward to using this soon, lovely looking bat with great ping!!
Rob and Jake have been brilliant throughout the whole decision making/questionong/purchasing process, can't recommend them highly enough!!
With regards to the anti-scuff on the front of the toe,I had my doubts but looks great in the flesh and will hopefully do its job!!
All in all,I am one very happy chap!! :D
-
Brilliant, glad you like it mate. Looks a real beauty.
People will be pleased to know that we have more Fireblades on the way. :)
-
I think those grains might catch the eye of one or two on here. ;)

Ha ha - I think you were definitely 'comparing the meerkat' before buying! ;)
-
LOvely profile adn eye-catching grains.
Have used one B&S a couple of years back and it was top class.
Hope this serves you well.
Is the handle very oval? or slightly oval like on Newbery or Salix
-
That is a lovely bat. How is the handle (thickness)? And if compared to your other bats where does this stands?

Good question....hard to say as it is the only bat that I have picked up since last season....quite oval at the bottom and round at the top....will compare to my Bradbury once I get it back!!

With the extra grip it seems fine, hard to say for sure until gloved up and batting!! ???
-
Any ideas what the M4K stands for on the bottom sticker on the back?? ???
-
First net with it tonight...only used it against the bowling machine...found the substantial middle with ease...felt great!
Out of interest,at what sort of speeds do others have the bowling machine set?
-
Glad you like it Ewan. I have no idea what the m4k stands for. :(

MK4 relates to the way B&S grade their willow after receiving it from JS Wright.
A Supreme is the best bat, and has MK5 on the sticker, similar to '5 star willow' seen on other top end bats. Fireblades (whilst still grade 1) are graded as MK4, and it goes down the range with the Fireball (i think) at MK3 etc.
-
Fireblades are back in stock, but not for long!
This is just over 2'8 and has sold already, what a belter!

This one is 2'7 dead on, and whilst it isn't grainy, it's absolutely huge for the weight, and taps up AMAZINGLY

I don't expect the 2'7 to be around for long, so we've got more on the way.

Not being a total grain nutter the 2-7 gets my vote. Great looking bat.

Aaarrrggghhhh...get it now!
Love the look of that 'grainy' one that you have just sold!
Hope I can get to nets again on sunday to give mine another run out! 8)

Only just spotted this!! :D
Definitely did 'compare'.....for quite a while!!
Taking him to his second net session on Sunday....hopefully get them to pitch he bowling machine on a nice length so I can get some driving going! 8)
-
After net number two (admittedly did not get to face as many balls as I would have liked...)...can report back that this bat goes!!
Can see many boundaries being both reached and cleared over the coming seasons! 8)
-
More Fireblade's have landed.
If you want one, you'll need to move fast, one of these is already gone.
2'7 - 2'10 are the available weights.
