as title says when should gloves be replaced.
I have a nice pair with pittard palm that now have sweat patch & think may effect grip & absorb sweat should i replace these.
I have new spare pair in bag. (both Ice 850's which i really like)
-
For me I replace when the leather is too hard to flex! Otherwise I try and keep wearing them. They are like an old friend!
-
lovely gloves, I suggest you net in one pair and use the other for matches. if the palms are still comfortable then they will be fine. if you are worried about grip, check the grip on your bat.
-
I usually go through a pair of gloves a season. I then keep the used pair as a spare pare for when its really hot and I sweat loads...

cheers replace grips reguarly once or twice a season.
just wandering probably forumitus re new kit?

Well for sure most people on here seem to change their gloves after every innings! Unless of course there was a century on route!
-
Change when you see a pair you like better :P

I tend to have sets I use in games (basically they stay really good for the whole season) and then I use a set for nets (which get absolutely destroyed with sweat etc).
I'd say the time to throw them away is when the palm (as that for me is the only bit to ever really 'ware out') gets all hard and less comfy.. oh and it tends to stink :)
Pads usually last me the full season of nets and games although by feb time (when I tend to get all my new kit) they are still in good nick but sweaty from training in shorts. Fabreeze cleans them right up though :)

I sweat heaps so I always use inners (fingerless), my oldest pair of gloves are about 3-4 seasons old and still going strong, no hard bits, still nice and soft leather. I have about 10 pairs of inners which I wash regularly, I have 4 pairs of gloves in my kit, 2 I use for games (my newest pair I've been wearing at training to break in after a few nets), and 2 pairs I keep for training. Works for me!

I currently have the tips of 4 fingers poking through the ends of mine :)
-
I use 2 to 3 pairs a year I don't wear inners as I can't get on with them I like to have same style of glove if I can I number the sets 1 2 3 and and and I reckon I can get 1 to 2 seasons out of them depends how I bat in a season I play 2 to 3 times a week but this year I plan to play 1 maybe 2 times as Iam love coaching and that's wear I wanna see my self in the next 4 years iam getting old 30 and don't want to play for eva

My dad is 59, he is just about to start playing Cricket again!

Number4 - I'm sure 65 applies to you :)
-
I agree about the fingerless inners. Always wear a pair, minimal extra bulk and they make your gloves last much much longer!

Have never tried inners.. Always think they would add too much bulk to the feel of the grip
-
I wore them in 2011 and they really did protect the gloves. Only found them bulky for the first session or two then they were fine. I think I'll be getting a few pairs for 2013 to use again.

Has anyone ever tried using 1 inner on the bottom hand only to counter the bottom hand "heavy" grip?
