Be interesting to hear some feedback from actual use.
-
I think Jason at CSO mentioned that he was getting one, don't know if he actually ended up getting one or not and if he did then he might have used it too...

in the nicest possible way there are very few guys on this forum that use a bat at that weight let alone a slight looking woman. looks like a marketing ploy to me!

Which club in Kent mate, did you get in from IJC? How do you find pick up and balance on the affinity?
Cheers.

The Carbine we have is one of the nicest looking and best finished cricket bats I have ever seen. I haven't used an Affinity bat, but I am pretty sure they will be right up there in terms of performance. Marcus is a very exacting and meticulous chap, and he's taking his time with these - especially in the pressing stage - so I don't think it will be long before word starts to spread about their quality...
-
We all got them from Marcus who went out off his way to make sure we wear all happy I will get some pictures up in the next few days the bats are built for performance and you certainly get that with affinity carbine just got to wait till end off march for the toro
-
The pick up on the bats are great feel a lot lighter than the bats are .I have used mine three times in the nets and the performance is the best I have used for a long time I have used saf Salix warsop and larver and wood and I can honestly say they are up their with all the big boys and I think we will see more and more affinity cricket bats begin used this season
-
Really good to hear - and I agree, I expect more and more to be used, but anyone who's interested needs to be pretty quick as he's only making 50 of each bat this year!
-
As M lives reasonably close by, I may be getting a little loan of a Spectre for nets at the weekend....so I would certainly be able to comment what it feels like against real bowling and cricket balls! Only 15 minutes worth but hoping that will give me an initial idea of how these do perform! ;)
-
I am sure 15 minuets is all you need the bats are a true thing off beauty and the sound off the blade is really something special
-
Having spoke to Simon about the bat, he loves it still. Pretty sure we can say he is turning out some really nice bats there. Also the branding is something different which is great to see.
-
I used a Spectre in the nets - a little heavier than I use these days at 2'13ish, but it picked up nicely and it performed extremely well!
Would I buy one? If I didn't already have so any top notch bats then I would certainly consider it, assuming I could grab one in the right weight!
And as an added bonus, the finish and stickers are excellent 8)

I purchased 2 of them in order to see what credentials they had prior to forming the link up with them for the Ayrtek Edition range. I took a carbine at 2.9 and a spectre at 2.12 for myself.
The Carbine is with a club mate who is getting on very well with it after previously using a chase as hes much more of a stroke player and opens the batting for us (when hes available!!) and i have been knocking in and netting with the spectre that is feeling very nice and will be getting an outting once ready to fully open up in a match format.
Without being convinced about the quality of the product I wouldnt have signed up for them to produce our own Edition, having used a whole spectrum of top end bats over the last few years im more than happy to have the Ayrtek name and logo on an Affinity produced bat.
-
The passion and research Marcus has put in to this bat is amazing, and I totally agree with Tom. Marcus has travelled the length of the country in how to make the perfect bat, from some of the reviews I seen, he has an amzing bat.. one I hope to buy some day lol

Have ordered the ayrtek edition and cannot wait for it.
Will post reviews when i get it.

Next week we are getting a complete one-off from Affinity: a grade 1 Toro bat. Some of you may know that these bats only come in grade 2, but Marcus has made one specially for us in grade 1. We will, of course, do a video review when we get it. Those of you who follow us on Twitter will know that it's a pretty stunning piece of willow too! :)
