G'day, first time poster.
I broke my wrist last season on my right arm, which is (right hander) my top batting hand and tried using a arm guard in the nets but just was far too uncomfortable. What I'm looking for is similar to what Ross Taylor wears, a sweatband which has a little bit of protection inside it. See pic.

You can sort of see it there, I'm assuming its a metal plate inside the sweatband. Has anyone seen these before or know where I could find one.
Cheers.

I have same problem as don't like arm guards and use the padded Ayrtek sweatbands and do trick although there not metal plate inside but offer decent protection
-
Have you tried the Aero arm guard? Tried one one yesterday (didn't bat in it though) and seemed very comfortable. The thing that's put me off arm guards in the past are the straps, but this one is within a sleeve.
-
Yeah arm guards in general just don't appeal to me, I lasted about 3 balls before taking it off when I tried it.
-
Are you sure you're not a left hander? Especially if you broke your right wrist and its your top hand??? :o

Haha sorry meant left arm! Was thinking about typing right handed
-
Makes more sense now haha
tomtek did have some sweatbands with like a plastic insert. Might be worth a shout?
-
wasnt plastic was just a thicker bit of foam inside the band.
maybe one for stretton fox?
-
We've got plenty of sweatbands left in stock if George wants to insert some of his magical materials into them?
Let me know and can send some down to him to come up with a solution

This sounds promising, Is it just an extra foam in it? that would work well.
Would you ship to Aus?
-
We produced some previously with an impact absorbing foam in the middle of the sweatbands that we got asked by a few pros for and sold. Few to forum members too.
Happy to ship wherever if there is a demand

We'll get this sorted as your all right its a good one to look at.
PS i've just finished the first prototype for an articulated arm guard which covers the top of the forearm, elbow and and about 2" above as some players have mentioned about getting hit on the joint which is an incredibly delicate area. It currently looks awful so will get phase 2 underway and post an update soon ! Cheers again !

One of the guys I play with got hit on the elbow. It cracked and he was out for the season...

Fantastic Mr Fox, sorry i missed ur call earlier i was downstairs whilst the ole dog and bone was upstairs!
Will give you a tinkle on the blower tomorrow for a catch up....I officially hate london traffic and waiting in turn for your number to be called out which defies the point in booking an appointment time in the 1st place!
-
FYI, its not a sweat band in the picture, its just a tuber grip, probaly with a cut down arm guard under it, which you could copy.
I'm sure the fox will be better!
-
We'll see what we can do, but all your feedback is awesome as we want to come up with the most useful products possible, so we can start with a sweatband but if it seems better to just do a coolax style wrist support then we can go that way as well ! PS will be posting a video (sneak peek) on the new leg system ! looking forward to feedback !
-
sorry to bring up an old thread but wondered if anything like these sweatbands were made? if so i would be very interested in getting a couple
-
Yes we got a prototype made up, basically its like a mini arm guard which can either be put into a sweatband or just worn underneath which seems to be much more comfortable and easier to clean !
TomTek has very kindly handed some Ayrtek sweatbands that look very cool so we are able to get these out.
If you're interested drop me an email on george@strettonfoxsports.com, thanks !
