5 overs in and Gayle has his 50 off 17 balls....seriously? :o
-
He did have to play himself in after all! ;)
-
Incredible hitting
-
Shame that TRD is playing Brigadeer Block at the other end!
-
Rotate the strike Dilshan... Ha
-
109/0 off 8....
-
Despite Bhuvi bowling 3 overs for 8....the other 5 overs have gone for a ton!
-
He has now scored 96 with only 4 runs, the rest sixes and fours!
-
RCB middle order have called in sick this afternoon.....
....a bad dose of pad rash. (I'm here all week)
-
Incredible he should get a double here!
-
100 up off 30 balls...
-

If you look at how in-balanced (or is it un-balanced) his frame is, then you'll soon realise why he doesn't run.
-
imbalanced?
-
he's very still when he hits. He (mostly) doesn't slog, they are good straight bat shots where he hits through the line. A lesson for all of us there.
-
Or being too cool for school?
-
imbalanced?
Huge upper body with skinny legs.
-
first t20 double?

I got that, I was merely offering the correct term for the previous poster!

Thanks.
I wasn't sure which one to use. im/un

The worrying bit for the bowlers is that Gayle seems to be having a little rest. If he's getting ready to launch another attack then this could be a mammoth score! :o
Wright is bowling well!!
-
The coaching manual would probably suggest trying to 'cramp him up' - but I bet it wouldn't say exactly how... :D
-
Yeah bowling short doesn't work either lads...

Put something in his drink?
-
Boring.
-
Chuck Steve Smith the ball!
-
His bat makes that gun-shot crack sound when he connects!
Amazing clean power hitting!
How can you bowl to this fella when he's on this for?
I thought Wright would be the one to make the breakthrough!
-
In mitigation, this bowling attack is absolute filth.
Ashocker Dinda is the spearhead!?!
I thought Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the spearhead!!
-
This is madness. I have never seen anything like it.
-
That young ball boy got hit hard then!
Stunning hitting
-
this really is madness
-
What's the highest first class T20 score?
-
150 up for gayle
-
McCullums 158
-
what am i watching!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! unreal
-
Erm...Gayle 127 or 48 Balls....minutes later Gayle 153 off 53 balls....what the heck!!!
Now they can push for the last 5 overs to finish with a decent score ;) lol
-
Let's play guess Gayle final score. Winner receives bragging rights for the day.
I'm going for 186
-
Yeah - but I was self-congratulating myself with the Dinda pun.
Lol yes...apologies for being a party pooper :-[
-
I don't know why Gayle is in such a rush...
-
highest team score?
-
I don't know why Gayle is in such a rush...
Well he did just take a couple of singles.....
-
just about every record available?
-
highest team score?
246/5 CSK
-
I still get the impression that he is taking a breather so that he can launch more carnage in the final 2-3 overs!
-
Be gutted if he passes Napier's 6's record.
As an Essex man, I'm big Napier fan (who I might add should be at the IPL)
-
He'll be offended into action now - AB is slaughtering his scoring rate...
-
I wonder if the bowler's brains are a complete mush by now....not Dinda comes across as the best anyways but common a bouncer wide....trying to bounce AB or Gayle at his pace!! and then we wonder why these guys fail at international level
-
246/5 CSK
cheers. gonna beat that.
-
Did anyone tell him to 'mind the windows'? :D
-
Gayle's just an over muscled blocker with one eye on his average... ;)
-
and that has just "saved" Mitch's figures...
-
31 from 8. Not too shabby
-
Did you notice that Yuvraj hasnt bowled.....I wonder if he wants an opener for his bottle?
-

I'm sure you'd have been gagging for the ball to be thrown to you, if you were in his shoes!
-
Hope he saves some runs for the champions trophy here. Teeing off like that at the oval would be nice :D
-
Hold up, Finch is off to a flyer.....
-
Just saw the scorecard! What was Dilshan doing only striking at a rate of 91?
-
Talk about hogging the strike! lol
-
I'm sorry but this is just a joke venue.
I'm a big fan of Chris Gayle, more so as he tends to punish the Proteas.
But Bangalore's ground is 60m all the way round at altitude. So anything half middled goes for 6.
Gayle was extraordinary but grounds like this shouldn't be used for professional cricket.
It's killing the game.
And this isn't sour grapes but look at RCB'd record soon as they play away from home they are found out.
-
its the same for both teams!!!?
that play there so how is it unfair?
-
can't see how it matters :) the boundary distance if it's sailing over it by miles
Gayle whacking Lee out of the Oval a few years back was a sight for all of us,except the Aussies probably....
-
246/5 CSK
Not counting sri lankas 260 vs kenya?
-

Domestic Record.
-
i don't think ground size really matters to Gayle. I watched him hit the English bowling on to the Oval pavilion roof last summer....
-
he is way tooooooo good! he broke so many records today
-
Chris Gayle?.....definitely cheating.....haven't worked out how yet though........but I will! He won't get away with it! :D

He's got a laminate, with flubber in the joint...

I can understand your point on the small stadium, but not the 'killing the game'. If watching this match or the highlights inspire some kids to get off there fat (No Swearing Please) and start playing cricket then its great for the game. Cricket need players, without them the game will die off. 20twenty is here to stay so embrace it for what it is.(mainly entertainment)
-
We watched some of this a lunch in the staffroom at school and he hooked one onto the top part of the stand, it was a foot from going over at least a 100ft stand. That was 6 anywhere as was many of his sixes.
He certainly has the swagger of a man who knows he's a bit special at times
-
The game is in ride health.
Faste(r)eddie and I where talking about this earlier.
We both agree (he has to agree with me as I am the father) that Gayle's exploits are great, not forgetting Napier of course, who can't forget Bumble climbing into someone's garden in Chelmsford to get the ball back.
Gayle and the t20 crowd are bringing the game to a new audience, even my wife enjoys the odd game.
It's also forced a new raft of kit and technique developments which will only be good for us.
