Guess who from the Forum visited us today. I'll post the photos later tonight. The hint is that he is well known member of the forum
whoever guesses it correctly will get some freebies with their next order

Capital suggestion Asad - although don't buy everyone lunch!!

Asad, you might as well suggest a forum members only afternoon and set a date. I'm sure loads of us will come - perhaps a few percent forum discount as an extra incentive.

I shall then don my onesie and demonstrate all the gear, before manning the kettle.

How about Sunday, any date is ok with me, may be you guys suggest a date and then members can say if they r ok with it or not. If successful we will run another similar day before the season starts

Right - I'll propose Sunday 3rd November - the thinking would be it's a non work day for most. People can pop in and out throughout the day as it suits them, and it's also just after payday for many of us?

Feedback on this much appreciated.

(Asad, are you over the road from where you used to be, or still in the same unit?)

If its a Sunday in November then the 10th or 24th is best for me.
If it's the 3rd or 17th then I'll not be able to be there until mid afternoon at the earliest?

I am definitely interested in this! As long as it doesn't clash with my Cyprus tour (18th-25th October)...

The reason I am interested is because Asad's store really is something else - he has more bats in his stock room than we do in our entire shop! The bats aren't half bad either - almost as good as some of ours!!  ;) :D

Even in October, he has some absolute stunners in stock, which is more than can be said for many other cricket shops, and knowing how meticulous Asad is about the performance of his bats, and the hand-picking process in general (he goes through literally every single bat each time!) I am sure that there are some real guns there waiting for a good home!  :)

Thanks Paul
I really admire Paul for the videos he has done to provide customers his views on the products from different manufacturers.. May be one day we can both use our strengths and make one big company.
It will be nice for you to come Paul and for that day only, i will show all of you some of the bats we supply to Pro players which are hidden in our stock room
Also good discount will be offered to Forum members

But Paul is bronzing himself on a beach on 24th. Therefore the 10th seems like a logical date?

I can't do the 10th unfortunately.  It's a busy few weeks for me.  Was hoping we could do the very end of October/early November, but my availability shouldn't affect it if most/all of you guys are free! Please don't work it around what I can do!

Oh, and I'm actually going to be bronzing myself on the cricket field, Pete - it's my club's annual overseas tour!  :)

I'm due to be visiting my sister down in London some time next month I suppose I could schedule it so that I'm down there on the 10th, I'll probably confirm closer to the date due to variable train fair (isn't that cheap going from Liverpool to London).

Still quite a distance from London to Uzi, though? In fact, it's probably a similar distance from Liverpool!

You are correct from London to Swindon is about 55 mins and if u buy ticket well in advance it is fairly cheap.
If anyone else needs to be picked up from the station that will be no problem at all.
I think we should aim to be here from 10 am onwards

A word of caution.....there is a large fashion outlet village in Swindon!
So if you're spending a few days around Swindon, then between Asad's shop full of amazing willow for you, and the outlet village full of amazing designer shops for your missus, expect it to be an expensive few days!!  :(

I was in Gloucester with work so headed off to Swindon for a couple of hours to meet Asad.

I was welcomed with a nice cup of tea and chocolate biscuits,  then given a tour of the bats in the shop!! I couldn't stop grinning, everywhere you placed your eyes they landed on top class willow!!
I wanted to look at some of the heavier newbery's & gn's in stock. Eventually I got it down to 2 bats, a B52 SPS & new shape Mjolnir Players (one of the ones Asad pictured last week) I eventually picked the B52 which I'm over the moon with!!

Still fancy the Mjolnir as well though!

If anyone's in the area I highly recommend calling in!!

Thanks Asad

Asad, I think if people don't get in touch with you about the nets, then that is their choice - don't get caught out booking nets and then have no takers. Often less people who have said yes actually turn up.

I'm sure if the nets don't materialise we'll still have plenty of fun shootin' the breeze, drinking tea and looking thru' your stock!

Thanks for the day Asad you and your family made great hosts and the food was excellent. I will post a few pics of the day and I know Fattus has a few as well.

I also want to point out that Asad really does have a great establishment and I can honestly say stocks amazing bats, I must have picked up and tapped up over 100 bats today and I can honestly say only one was not great. He honestly does pick on performance but they also look amazing as well. And well as for the back room good god some amazing willow in there as well as on the shelves. Saw a bottom end Kook Warrior with 24 grains.

Was an unbranded SS butterfly willow bat, 2.7 from memory with a lovely butterfly stain across the blade and tapped up really well, problem was it had a knot in the blade and the bat was dead around the know, was about a third of the was down the blade. Asad offered me a good deal on it as well. You never know what may happen in the future :-[

Just finish tidying up the place to be ready to open on Tuesday. I really enjoyed meeting  every one who visited and I hope everyone had a good time. This was the only time we let forum members to look at our back room where some of you especially simon found some gems which I completely forgot about. We had Tendulker bat as well as Michael Clarke bat plus few bats which were similar to we sent to Pakistan test players. I think we will have another gathering before the season starts. We also have available quite a few bats from 2014 GN range. I will put the photos of those in the next few days. Before I forget I must mention that we have 4 Salix bats from 2014 range ,  2 of these are unique and won't be available any where.

I wouldn't of but krs was asking about the Amplus bats and M&H.
The Distinctions tapped out superbly well with very long middles! And also came back and tapped up the Amplus bats and they were also excellent.
I suspect these will be serious pingers for anyone with the generous budget that M&H bats command.

We would all sulk if we had half a dozen bats lodged in our backside!!
When I pulled up outside, I did wonder why that sad bloke dressed in cricket whites in this weather was staring at me!!

I'd be pretty disappointed if Chris, Simon and myself only managed to increase Asad's sales by 1000% to be honest! Some very beautiful looking bats there, I saw the BAS Wilkie purchased which looks ridiculously good! It's a shame the bank account is struggling a little, but probably a sign that I have much more than enough willow to last me a good few seasons! :-[

Would like to thank Asad for having us, and answering our many many ridiculous questions about willow.

Your shop is truly a cricketers dream, the bat are top draw. Ridiculously well hand picked.
Hospitality and every was spot on.

Was top to meet a couple of new members and meet a couple of others I'd not met before!

Thanks Tom, the shop will become even better in the coming years. I am glad what I started few years ago (hand Picking), now others are following it. As u probably witnessed that our hand picking doesn't depend on how good the bat looks but how it will perform. I guarantee customers that our bats are at least one grade higher than what the sticker says.
I really enjoyed the day and will run another day before the season starts.
I am glad u enjoyed the day

I seen a lot off top end bats in mind time this bat was 2.8 and had around 21 grains and was for a pro player it picked up like a dream and you bounced a old ball on it and it was pinging so well it was crazy the best bat I have ever laid my hands on and if you know the sort off bats I have had it is that good

Now I am letting my imagination make up for the lack of pics :). I have had a few bats from Asad bhai, all have been exceptional,  and I can only imagine how good this was if he was not willing to sell it. Now lets hope he gets 2 of those clefts instead of one Simon or you might have to get a good security system for your house ;) lol
