Happy post season fellow members :) I know it sucks!
But here are my initial thoughts on MSR Premier Elite I bought from Steve few weeks back.
Weight - 2lb 8.5oz
Edges - ~40 mm
Grains - 14 straight grains which run straight through the toe (what made me buy the bat)
Ping - Impressive
Concaving - minimal
The bat overall looks good but a bit disappointed with the balance and that has to do with the dimensions.
The blade is longer by ~1 cm and handle is more than a 1 cm shorter which has messed up the balance.
I have a Blackcat Shadow which is ~1 oz lighter but feels like a wand when i pick it up.
Any thoughts on how to improve the balance. I have already shortened the blade to regular size but still doesnt feel right and I guess thats due to the handle.
And here are the pics -

Wow, that's a stunner!! You didn't say how much you paid for it?

That's a great looking blade. Still not sure on the stickers personally, but they are a massive improvement from the old ones.
Nice profile as well, meaty for that weight

This I like

I'm not a batmaker but perhaps flattening the toe and reducing the wood towards the bottom of the bat would help? Should help with the pickup.

I have taken off almost 1 cm from the bottom (from where the anti scuff sheet ends to the toe) and pickup has definitely improved. Something needs to be done to the handle. I can probably try an extra grip which I hate.
So used to the balance of my current bat, will need to spend some time to get used to this one.
-
where did you get the scuff sheets from?
-
before you shave off more wood, try adding a counterbalance to the handle.
put some lead tape around the top of the handle (available at tennis or golf stores).
failing that, you could just cut some 1 inch wide strips from a spare grip and put them round the handle top.

A local store here in New Jersey.

Have been wanting to do this for a while but didnt get time... and sharing my experience with MSR bats and their service just felt right as there are not many reviews on here...
To start - I got the bat exchanged for a small fee.
About the old bat - eventhough the balance was little bit off (as mentioned in earlier post), the bat played really well. I used it in 2 T20 games before the season ended and scored 32 and 52. I know individual scores doesnt mean much because its relative to the oposition you play. But I can say for sure, I hit some of the cleanest sixes I have hit in recent time. The bat was very forgiving, you could hardly feel the ball was mis-timed (if you know what i mean) in your hand except that it didnt go where I wanted it to. The bat was knocked-in for 30 mins around the edges as advertised and nothing more, was used straight in the game.
I reached out to Steve and got the bat exhchanged for a small fee. Steve was kind enough to let me pick from one of the bats he had on eBay and this is the one I picked -

The bat is as good as the old one but with better balance and pickup. You can see from the pictures, its quite a good looking bat. I have used it in nets couple of times and it feels better than the old one in many ways.... I am sure it will play well in the games.
I have owned 2 Blackcats in last 3 yrs and they were my match bats and love them. I was little skeptical before I made the purchase as the bats looked good and big but there wasnt lot of information about how they played. I think MSR will be my match bat next year....
they have better grains than some of the bats which go for 400-500. Only thing I dont like is the stickers. The bat lost almost an ounce after I took the stickers off. Why would you want to hide such a beautiful bat... lot of plastic :D

Those were available in SportsDirect.

I brought a job lot of bats from Steve last year - 10 in fact - grade 1s and 2s.
They were hit and miss. Had about 4/5 which were everything you would expect from a top level bat, then some with weird handle designs, uneven edges and even slightly short/long.
