Yup, Its here and my god it looks good! Personally I dont like all white designs as they tend to get dirty too quickly but overlooking, that, I am confidently say GM will be the best batmakers in 2010. AGAIN. enjoy the pictures:
All the bats. The GM plus bats are like the biggest kahuna - fat edges (only availble in Icon and Flare)

New stuff looks good. Profile on that Apex looks interesting.
-
i am actually in love, stuff GN kit, i want the original le pads and gloves all white and a icon!, all their bags always look rubbish tho
-
GM aidy ;)
-
Personally, I think my gear apart from the bag and gloves is better than this. But that is mainly because of my dislike of all white designs. One thing is bugging me though - WHEN WILL GM USE OCTOPUS GRIP!
-
Kit looks nice :)
-
OMG so tempted to order this stuff,
any pics of all the bags mate

I scanned it in sixth form today. It took me about 30 mins just to do these pics. Im afraid I wont be uploading anymore. What I can say is, looks at last years bags and change the graphics to thhose on the 808 ones. Only other change is a new Original LE Duplex wheelie (as well as the original Original le!)
-
However I am willing to send this to lucky fella for a nice little fee of TEN POUNDS!
-
i really hope no one does . . .
wat six form do you go to Musama?
-
Does anyone know is the difference between the Icon with the edge sticker and no edge sticker? (higher grade of willow?, heavier bat?)
I am phoning up Steve at GM tomorrow anyway, so if not, i will ask him about it.
-
GM+ which is a heavier bat (2lb 11+)
Not sure who will be in at GM either tomorrow as it's the Bournemouth trade show.
-
Apple - I go to Sutton Grammar Sixth Form (A2 now). Its in a south west suburb of London
hit4six - The one with the sticker is a GM+ bat - it has thicker edge, more concaving and a meaty middle. like tom said, weights start at 3lbs or something

I think you mean they'll be the best machine made bats.... The bench made one's by the "batmakers" are reserved for pro's I think

Thanks for clearing that up, and the bournemouth trade show? What is that?

No, CAD + CAM is only used to create the definite profiles for perfect balancing and even weighting of the bat. The bats are pressed by both machine and man before the batmaker at GM finishes off each bat individually. Do not take anything away from GM. They have been perfect for the past 3 seasons.
-
If they're so good why do the players request handmade ones?

yadda yadda blah blah so a bat maker is someone that sands and polishes bats..... I could attached a hamster to a wheel of sand paper and a buffer on tracks and he could that....
I know they have batmakers there so your description is not fair on them really
edit: Actually I may have to teach the hamster how to nibble on the handle to shape that...

I think hammy would rather gaze at you grafting.
-
Of all the off-the-shelf brands I would be most comfortable buying from GM (then Puma and GN)

if you wanna see bigger pics, and pre-order.

Images of the profile and shaping of the bat. The flare looks like it has a very simple design with no pronounced middle?

It's not got the biggest spine but there's no concaving, concaving can help accentuate the spine.
All the GM bats are different shapes, the Flare with no concaving. Apex with little bow etc

Tom are you sure about the above as one of the batmakers on the forum rubbished that claim saying it was not possible (see posts under onlinestockist - kookburra bats).
They said spine could not be made pronounced just by conceiving, to which I still disagree.
The comment that BAS bats are all edge no spine is very true for some UK made bats like the GN Ignite, the GM as above, GN Predator and Viper. So are they also buying the inferior hand made clefts for the price of the G1 clefts?

the shape of the flare looks similar to that of the Duelist that GM has till 2007..... and the middle is very high too
-
Its a shame no shops around Bournemouth stock GM bats any more, because I am going to be purchasing a GM bat for next season, but i dont like the idea of buying without picking up. The apex looks appealing, but i have heard so many reviews about the icon!
The bats this year certainly look good and im sure they will sell well.

icon still the best IMO, spoke to steven at GM he sed the flare was very similar to the purist
-
Has Steven at GM seen the Purist and Flare? Flare is high middle with a pretty thick edges and flat back/spine. Purist is the complete opposite!
-
icon still the best IMO, spoke to steven at GM he sed the flare was very similar to the purist
yeah i was gonna say, you sure this wasnt an imposter? or you didnt speak to him?
-
he is the guy who does the repairs and helps makes bat, he sed that to me on the phone that it was very similar to the purisy his name is steven wilkinson
-
Sorry can't see it myself, unless the Flare has changed dramatically from the shows. Purist was always a pretty traditional English shape, at first glance to me the Flare looked like a hybrid of Asian and Australian.
-
tom i will agree with you i have a brand new flare sat here infront of me and the purist its replaced is nothing like this.
It is however a beautiful bat, very well made with a fairly high middle i will get some pics up.

Looks nice.
Those sticker are the best in my eyes.
The toe looks really thin but all in all looks a very nice bat.
-
the toe does look thin, love the stickers, best gunn and moore sticker ever.
-
went to the local shop today with intentions of buying a new GM 808 with birthday money next week and after careful deliberation i decided to elect for the Apex. The flare is beautifully looking but i cant see it being too practical in english pitches with the middle so high up, the apex had nicer balance overall and had a much larger middle and .... yeah
-
I think I'd go with the Apex too, looks better IMO.
-
Get a review up aaron!
-
i will when i buy it, its my birthday next monday, and i think i might buy the bat on the thursday although i dont know when ill use it? but i can take pics and stuff when i get it
-
Yes please!
