I think you mean they'll be the best machine made bats....  The bench made one's by the "batmakers" are reserved for pro's I think

No, CAD + CAM is only used to create the definite profiles for perfect balancing and even weighting of the bat. The bats are pressed by both machine and man before the batmaker at GM finishes off each bat individually. Do not take anything away from GM. They have been perfect for the past 3 seasons.

If they're so good why do the players request handmade ones?

yadda yadda blah blah so a bat maker is someone that sands and polishes bats.....  I could attached a hamster to a wheel of sand paper and a buffer on tracks and he could that....

I know they have batmakers there so your description is not fair on them really

edit: Actually I may have to teach the hamster how to nibble on the handle to shape that...

Of all the off-the-shelf brands I would be most comfortable buying from GM (then Puma and GN)

It's not got the biggest spine but there's no concaving, concaving can help accentuate the spine.

All the GM bats are different shapes, the Flare with no concaving. Apex with little bow etc

Tom are you sure about the above as one of the batmakers on the forum rubbished that claim saying it was not possible (see posts under onlinestockist - kookburra bats).

They said spine could not be made pronounced just by conceiving, to which I still disagree.

The comment that BAS bats are all edge no spine is very true for some UK made bats like the GN Ignite, the GM as above, GN Predator and Viper. So are they also buying the inferior hand made clefts for the price of the G1 clefts?

Its a shame no shops around Bournemouth stock GM bats any more, because I am going to be purchasing a GM bat for next season, but i dont like the idea of buying without picking up. The apex looks appealing, but i have heard so many reviews about the icon!

The bats this year certainly look good and im sure they will sell well.

Has Steven at GM seen the Purist and Flare? Flare is high middle with a pretty thick edges and flat back/spine. Purist is the complete opposite!
