have a look
-
WTF. They are all the same in terms of design (Sub Zeros form LAST season). Pics are below (for convenience):

Too much colour on the front. Not having a traditional range will hinder their sales significantly.

The wise words of Musama lol ;)

Wicket keeping equipment is better than batting gear and looks like it will give Puma a run for its money. again.:

I think all the gear looks pretty nice, wonder what the batting gloves will be like.
-
I uploaded the CCX gloves on CSF a month ago! here they are, along with all the bats:

nice white, super greens, kinda contradictory!
-
im mixed on the pads, the keeping gear looks great,
i think i will end up liking the pads, but still not sure . . .
-
keeping gear awsome
as for the pads i think there great and i think they will sell more as the RP's and Ice Sub Zeros are the ones that pros use in different colourways and we wer all complaining last year saying why cant we get RP/sub zero in blade colourway. i think it is spot on and will sell loads, interested to see the prices tho, will the rp pads be more because there green lol?

If you look at the ranges, Then you can estimate the prices as well. Kookaburra have used numbers this year (like gm) and the top of the range Kahuna Pads are 1000. Blades are 950 and CCX are 900. Finally, Ice are 850. Although the design is totally identical, I think we will end up paying the extra for the range logos to be put on.
-
Blades and Ricky Ponting's look good.
I notice they have also changed the part where the foot lies. A mates got a pair and they broke very easily at this part. Looks like they have incorporated a tougher material.
-
The new Brad Haddin stuff is the mutts, Definatly will be getting in my bag for 2010......
-
RP pads have an rrp of £130 also have an extra cane in from memory

omfg. 130 for that disaster!
-
omfg. 130 for that disaster!
yes thats the RRP just like last years they will be going for £90 again at all retailers as usual!
-
Apart from the keeping stuff, Imo Kook have dropped a bollock over this years kit........Bats and pads look tacky and look like they have tried way way too hard!!!!
-
i actually really like it, i think all there gear apart from the kahuna gear, looks pretty damm good
-

me2 and we all criticise it now, i can gurantee when we see pros using it and get used to it, everyonw will absolutely love it, just because its a change, people dont like change :)
-
no. GM with their all white designs was a change after 3 seasons of having white and black only. We all loved them to bits.
-
GLOVES ARE ON AS WELL! Kahuna 1000 uses Pittards Quartz, Blade 950 uses Pittards, CCX 900 uses Pittards with Calf and Sub 850 also has Pittards with calf.

They have ruined Blade!
-
They have ruined Blade!
not yellow enough for me. loving ccs but once you guys see the bats, you will hate all the gear
-
I loved the silver blade gloves and the new Australia pads, not this crap!
-
I love the cosmetics of the bats, agree on the point about the blade though. The Blade and Kahuna bats look v similar.
-
Can you please post the bats mate?
-
Walshy I posted a link to the gloves and bats (my post on CSF)! Its on the previous page mate.
Here it is anyway: http://www.cricketsupplies.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=18711 (http://www.cricketsupplies.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=18711)
-
Interesting how the ones who have seen them all in the flesh love them, those who have seen a few low-res pics on a forum hate them.
The only bit I don't like is the small logos on the back but they're incredibly easy to remove. It's just one seperate sticker.
-
i only like the ICE range if i had to choose the softs and bat matchin, im sure it will grow on me
-
I think the kookaburra gear this year looks very poor. In my eyes, they have tried far too hard and it looks very poor. The bat stickers this year, again, I think are poor!!
-
Has anyone seen the Kookaburra MAX grip? Is it like a shock absorba?
-
It is in the sense of it being a half/half grip, but it's not squidgy at the bottom like the shock absorba. Basically the bottom 1/2 is a Kooka Players grip top is Octopus.
-
Ok thanks Tom, do you know if they will be available commercially?
-
those im some hideous gloves
-
Are the lower priced gloves half pittards half calf leather then? Agree with you aidy, the ice range looks the nicest as a set.
-
They have ruined the Blade completely!
-
Bats are out!

Think they will look really good in the Flesh to be honest, like the blade especially
-
They should stick with these!

Looks like they've tried to hard with their labels this year, look pretty poor to me.

all the bats have been released on the official kookaburra website and i have to admit it, they are growing on me. still hate that line of stickers on the back though
-
I like them, Not to bothered about the line of stickers, I think they look really nice actually.
-

i thought the line of stickers were tiny individual sticker stuck one after the other. thought it would be an absolute pain taking them off but not the case!
-
i think the back is too cluttered, front is quite nice. i wish stickers were more minimalist, much like the old newberys
-
looking at the gear at the moment, I really like it, looks so good on the TV, Im a big fan
-

no only the aussie gear is on tv at the moment not of the new 2010 UK range must have been mistaken, or am i mistaken?
-
owais was using it at the start of his innings (well the bat)
-
yeh seen it on gettyimages just now, i really like it, didnt in the pictures from the catalogue but looks very good in person (well whilst being used)
-
Has any on tried the Kahuna 1000 bat? and how is it? any pictures maybe?

I have just bought some Ice 850 gloves - I have the 2008 and 2009 ICE Sub Zero version as well. For those of you who like the (blue) kookaburra stuff, the 2008 gloves are really good, the 09 versions are similar, but I don't like the graphics as much. The 2010 ones I am really excited about - they are much smarter - with black rather than silver and the fingers don't look as if they will wear as much. Previous kookaburra gloves have worn on the fingers where there was a protective insert - however this has been replaced with different padding this in this year's model.
Having put them on, but not tested them, they also have a softer palm whilst retaining I suspect the same level of protection.
I will be putting my 09 Kook ICE gloves up for sale later (in the for sale section! OSM right hand - I'm selling them as they are a little too big) - was given them for Christmas and have only worn them 3 times in an indoor bowling machine so in very good condition will probably be able to do them posted for £20ono. pm me if you are interested
I will put pics of both up when I get a chance (wont be until this evening)
-
I saw the 2010, ice 850 gloves at taunton as was very impressed by them. They look great
-
I believe that they are a serious improvement on their predecessors plus they are super comfortable.
Liam, did you see what the 850 pads were like, in comparison to the previous sub zero ones?
-
no sorry mate, but looked at the kook gloves, and a quick look at that!
-
fair enough - I only got the Sub Zero pads at the beginning of last season, so wont be buying new ones for a while - depending on how long they last!
-
If anyone is interested, here are pics of the ICE 850 gloves...

the other gloves are now in the for sale/swap section
-
Very nice.
-
Love the gloves buddy :) Where did you get them from and how much ? Cheers
-
Those gloves look nice, like the kook gloves more than the pads this year. Pads are a bit boring!

Think you need a girlfriend or hobby ;)
-
I got the gloves from ebay - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Kookaburra-2010-ICE-850-Batting-Gloves-Size-Mens-RH_W0QQitemZ400097345743QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Protective_Equipment?hash=item5d27a900cf for the rh or http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Kookaburra-2010-ICE-850-Batting-Gloves-Size-Mens-LH_W0QQitemZ350304921418QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Protective_Equipment?hash=item518fcce74a for the LH version
As I said previously the 2008 model are really good and these are better (only about £10 more) but have better palms and (hopefully) better protection. Personally so long as they are as good as my 08 ones, I don't care. I have the 08 Ice sub zero pads too, which I really like.
there are better things to have orgasms over than kookaburra softs though!!
-
Haha i think orgasmic is definately too far mate! Although whatever floats your boat i suppose!!!
Dont think i would pay £40 for gloves mind you. Most i've ever spent is 17 :) and i have some quite decent gloves :D

Not an unreasonable comment - but I would say that they are very good and offer excellent protection. Also, I am sure that a) you could get them cheaper if you looked hard enough (althought the service I got from these guys was excellent) and b) you could get gloves that are as good for £25 from a different brand... I like the blue kookaburra stuff, so more the fool me!!
-
I spent £25 on my last pair and got some more on the way I like them so much xD
-
Yeah or wait til end of season bargains if not massively bothered about the newest ones. Or as you say use the smaller brands which are slightly more cost effective for similar designs and protection levels. Are very sweet looking gloves!
-

arh not the electric blue fetish...
-

I Have both ;) lmao
-
I like the Kookaburras A LOT but like Sammy I couldn't bring myself to pay more than £25 really :)
Next pads could be Kookaburra Ices. ;)

I would'nt think twice about spending £25 + on gloves ;)
-
roughly it's £25 max on gloves and £40 max on pads, maybe more if it's a bargain or worth it...

yeah.

that is probably pretty reasonable
FYI I have just dug out the order note - the original pads and gloves cost me £31 and £46 respectively and the were bought in early Aug 08 so have done a almost season and a half (I play until the end of September) - given that there is loads of wear in the pads and at least another season in the gloves I think I have had decent value
-
Sounds good, my £40 GM 606 pads have lasted 2 seasons and gloves still got another season or 3 in them :D
-
If I didn't just order another pair of gloves :( http://onlinestockist.com/Kookaburra-ICE-SUB-Zero-Cricket-Batting-Gloves-P141147.aspx

I would be interested to see how they compare with the the UK ones - when you get them please post some pics
-
I'm gnna get some Ice 850's :):)
-
Never warmed to Kookaburra but there's something about the current Ice range.......
-
Pretty sure the ones from online stockist will be split, like the aussie, indian ones
look on the india section of the kook webpage
i normally although £45 for gloves (have paid £50 for some to treat myself before) and £60/£70 for pads but i have to be really sure on them as i know they will last 2 seasons
