Nottingham mate

Not many things happen for forum members up north and I know Nottingham is central for maybe a greater chance for us northerners to meet up and see a process although of course it will be open to anybody and be nice to see and meet people

Morning boss

I would love to pop up and have a look, but weekends are hard work for me at mo, ,bit gutted,as I'm really interested in the set up, and to be honest, I've not seen a single bad bat from these guys, in fact, the bats I've seen pics of, look amazing.

Thanks for organising and will look forward to any posted pics

Mark

No worries mate just trying to get numbers out and sorted now.

Now I have heard rumblings of me as a brand ambassadors or some kind of link with b3 well I going to be honest with you.

I'm no brand ambassadors there my mates no doubt and I respect them massively and one day if I'm lucky I would like to work with them as that's my dream job. I believe in quality and quality is what you get when you go there.

I was there first customer and from there my friendship with the guys goes without question underpinned by a fine job they all do.

Do I advertise there brand no I don't I just tell people about the quality they have not many brands or makers I have not tried and b3 have time after time given me quality but then again they seem to give the same quality to anybody else.

Hope this clear things up.

Mark I plan to get as many pictures as possible I plan on picking up my 2014 softs so should be able to get loads of pictures

I did not set the tour up as a money spinning excersie just telling people about the 1271 does that I did it because there are many questions and many do not fully understand the process where tradition meets technology and it open to view.

I have also been working as a kit tester for another brand just not bats so you see I try and help anybody who wanted a opinion.
That I may add was a unpaid job as well. I do it because I love kit good kit though.

And there still spaces if people still want to come down

Unfortunately not as there not a forum sponsor so no forum discounts.

But there may be some discount on the day

If you contact them they might be able to help you…

The visit will be starting at 1030 sharp on the 8th confirmed today. Places still open .

Some great bats I will let others explain bargain of the day was a 1 stripe ugly duckling with punches far higher than any weight shame i was beaten to it.

Sorry about saying thank you like the Gunn and Moore forum day who have never been a sponsor  some went on a few years ago this too was like that sorry if it upset some.

I understand some have a issue with this day well it was mainly set up for a few fellow Northern based members could meet up and all bats where shown off today from a massive GN Dyandrive I believe is from Vitas to a rather tasty H4L Tempo and a beautiful Rob Pack bat so forum sponsors kit was also shown off.

Share the Knowledge it certainly was...

Been a cracking day and very long one. Highlight for me was putting up with Dave's craic for 6 hours of the journey.

Some cracking bats on show and a couple bought today too

Would definitely accompany you next trip Dave, I may let you talk me into buying this time

(Next time I'm driving!)

I went on the B3 tour, purely to have a look at the setup and how things are done. With no intention of buying anything at all. But I couldn't leave this bat for Dave to get whittled down into a twig ;). Listening to what the B3 guys had to say about how and why they've started B3, you can truly see the passion they have for the industry and providing quality bits of wood. Russ has also developed some of the most comfy gloves I have ever put on, and thats a fair few to compare to! I think they will be around for a very long time, and nobody can challenge what they do at the moment. Anyway, the bat.

It's 2'10 bang on the nose, with double twine and a grip!

Got to say what was never advertised was the discount people got on the day off there bats. Ranging from 50 per cent to 30 per cent yes they where finished bats and Tom one was a professional players actual bat but he has changed profile.

Maybe a beer afterwards next time!!!!

Glad people have had a  good day and I got to meet some other kit junkies.

Andy,Mark,Nick,Chris,Tom, thank you for coming and I hope you understand why I rave about B3.

As stated I hope B3 become sponsors on the forum and will and have had discussions i understand some concern but it was not down as a buy and sell after the questions about B3 why not show people the process.

Now a few more can explain so it will not always be me.

If people think this was a blatant free advertisement it simply was not if you follow my many years on the forum I have always championed good equipment.

Shame I have to explain myself. All I have ever received off B3 is a hoodie.

One forumite got what he was willing to pay 150 quid for 80 nicker.

Lets not forget why this forum was formed.

I'll let the gear do the talking.

Righto, here is the 1 strip Dave let me have  :D

Can't remember all the story but this was for a customer and at the last minute they discovered a tiny tiny pressing crack. I couldn't see it without a microscope. Anyway some tapping up was done where we decided it certainly pinged well. It was in mine and Dave's weight range - 2'7 before stickers/grip and sealed the deal when I got a big discount :-) . To be fair I suspect Dave let me have it! The B3 guys did a bit of customising to meet my handle spec - it was bound twice on a thin handle but it needed a third bind on the lower half of the handle to be thick enough. They also changed the grip for me and added some scuff/tape. They honestly couldn't of been more helpful.

The final spec is 2'8.7 with stickers/scuff/tape and 1 chevron. It has a 36/37mm edge and around 60mm spine. The amount of concaving is absolutely minimal in the middle with some more gentle concaving near the shoulders and toe. It's a very "full" profile with the middle mid to high. For those interested it's not quite a flat face but a 3.5mm face, so slightly rounded. It has a slightly set forward handle. Early days but I netted with it tonight and while it needs a bit of playing in, some of the shots came off nicely.

It will no awards for looks but is a bloody good bat and to be fair performance wise that is going to be a very good bat indeed.

I did nearly buy it like the others but got enough for now.

Lovely bat bud and the bargain of the day at 50 per cent off because of a small crack.

This sounds like me!

Just got on properly after a long weekend.  Thanks to Dave for organising the event.  It was a very calm, relaxed and fun morning in which I learnt quite a bit.

It wasn't a selling atmosphere and the B3 guys were more than happy to answer any questions and were generally happy for us to poke our noses into anything and everything.

I ended up getting a bat (which I hadn't really expected to do), so will post up some pics in a minute or however long it takes me to remember how upload them!

Cheers again Dave

Fairly low middle.  Comes in at a shade under 2.10 without scuff sheet.  Not knocked in at all yet so I'ev got to start that.  Feels nice under the ball and mallet so far though.

Quite liking those green stickers - definitely grown on me since Saturday. Definitely some bargains to be had, I did well to walk away with nothing.

A B3 Hoodie!!! I aint even got one of those!!

After using my B3 on Wednesday, it's an absolute cannon, and can see why Dave loves them so much. I will put up a full review of it when I get some time. Extremely decent bit of wood!
