Title: Two Devils arrived today.
Post by: fasteddie on March 07, 2014, 10:11:46 AM
So, recently after lending our gun batter my H4L Pro, he ordered a copy, which is going like a train.

So impressed is he, he asked me to pop into H4L on a recent trip to Kent and pick him two more.

As usual Matt was a gentleman and was incredibly helpful when choosing clefts.
We went through a large stash and found two Devil grades. Both had only been handled and pressed no shaping or tidying.

Today they arrived and I have the duty of knocking them in.

Both 2lb 11oz, edges are large, no concaving, spine large, 7 grains. Devil is a barely noticeable pressing ding on the outside edge. Pick-up is the same as my Pro! Very light indeed.

Honestly, when Matt offers-up these you should just buy it and ask questions later. They are that good! But in very short supply.
My long blade Devil is just amazing.

Enjoy.

There must surely be something horrendous hiding beneath the stickers for those to be devil grade?

Look brilliant and although I am in no need for a bat (like 99% of the members here) it is very difficult not to be continually impressed by the quality of Matt's work and make you want to invest in one of his bats!

Nothing, zip, nowt.
Matt and I hand picked the clefts.

I might quit my start-up and ask Matt for a job!

Nope.
It's the shadow.

Agree with Simmy, can't believe the bats in pic having no concaving.

Is this your best Paxman impression?

Just checked and there is no concaving. I even put my glasses on!  :D

I assume that even though it's a Devil it follows the same profile as the G1 hellfire? If so, the website blurb indicates a concave shaped spine. I agree from the pictures it does appear to have some concaving (may not be much) but for the cost of one of these they look like some of the biggest bargains i've seen on here in a while!

It's a custom profile without concaving.

Who else wants to ask the same question.  :D

Wasn't a criticism buddy. Wasn't aware you had a custom that was copied for these, I just read the opening post and saw the stickers so assumed it would match the Hellfire. Great value though and I imagine the lucky recipient is very pleased with your assistance! Not sure i'd knock them in for him though unless he is providing you with beer as gratitude!

All is good, no offence taken.

It's branded as a Hellfire because that's just the preference. Don't worry, I'm getting paid to knock them in!

I think Simmy is just splitting hairs, ignoring the 'no concaving' statement.

Both bats looks  good and yes it is hard to believe from the pics that they are not concaved. :)

Wow, these look amazing... Personally, I'd like to see a close-up of the Devil defect(s) if you don't mind, but I think you scored some bargains there.

The actual defects are on the second picture. Nope,I can't see them either.  :D

Two very small pressing cracks. It's the same thing you get when you nick-off with a soft bat, even less. You could hide it with a scuff and bat tape, but Matt's way to honest for that. He's not one for hiding blemishes under stickers.

My mate has scored a couple of right guns. They are now knocked in and ready to lay waste. H4L's seem to go from the off. No waiting, just knock them in and BOOM!

(Still not concaved Simmy, I checked just for you  ;))

Matt recently posted on the H4L facebook feed that he has a special treat for everyone......I'm saying nowt, go check it out. Just make sure you've got  access to your child's savings or Mum's credit card (delete according to age).

They're defiantly concaved, you can tell from the angle and the shadow it creates. The absence of more pictures backs that up.

Not a criticism of Matt's work because it's top notch, I actually prefer concaved shapes, they look better in my opinion.

I expect some sarcastic reply from mediumpacededdie regarding an investagating reporter.

Pictures will never appear, why back up your claim with evidence? It's the internet everything should be believed.

Anyway, less chat on the internet, I must go, selena Gomez is in her best undies and shouting me to join her.  Holla.

Got to agree with you mate. May not be a lot of concaving but they are 100% concaved

Send her my best (or give her my best), it's wired that she doesn't return my calls anymore.

The bats are gone. With their owner after being knocked in by shape shifting aliens dressed as David Icke.

If you need evidence of everything then (shrugs shoulders) you'll join me in calling all religion a sham. No?

It's not sarcastic, just that as someone who knows the difference between in/out/shaken all about, I don't need to justify a simple statement.  ;)

I can see why you think it's concaved. There is a suspicious shadow. I'd think similar if I hadn't been told otherwise.

Religion is a belief which some people choose to follow, so I'm unsure how you can compare that against facts.

Oh and statements are only factual if you can substantiate with evidence?

Religion is believed without evidence (because there isn't any), so my statement is comparable and valid.

People make statements of all different sorts, without needing to justify themselves. Why do I need to justify a simple fact?

not quite Dean, but I hear spots are the new stripes this season.

Clearly the sun wasn't playing ball when I took the pictures.

I can however, vouch that the owner is delighted with his non-concaved H4L bats.

But there was clearly photographic evidence those bats were concaved...

But what would I know, I'm religious

True, anyway I'm off to bed early, I need to be up at 7am to drop my Audi R8 off for it's first service then fly to Paris on my private jet. Should you need me then please feel free to contact one of my many servants.

Good day sir!

R8, Oh dear Ryan. what where you thinking. That's the wrong car. It's the 458 or McClaren. Even an Aventador would pass muster, but never an R8. You'd never live in West Hampstead with that kind of car.

Oh, and Rolex, much over hyped. Those of us in the 'know' where vintage Omega.

Enjoy Paris. It's divine this time of year.  :D

I'm off to bed early. Just got back from supper with the A listers round the corner, Emma, Jim, Imelda, too many too name. Chin chin.  :D
