Two Devils arrived today.
« on: March 07, 2014, 10:11:46 AM »

So, recently after lending our gun batter my H4L Pro, he ordered a copy, which is going like a train.

So impressed is he, he asked me to pop into H4L on a recent trip to Kent and pick him two more.

As usual Matt was a gentleman and was incredibly helpful when choosing clefts.
We went through a large stash and found two Devil grades. Both had only been handled and pressed no shaping or tidying.

Today they arrived and I have the duty of knocking them in.

Both 2lb 11oz, edges are large, no concaving, spine large, 7 grains. Devil is a barely noticeable pressing ding on the outside edge. Pick-up is the same as my Pro! Very light indeed.

Honestly, when Matt offers-up these you should just buy it and ask questions later. They are that good! But in very short supply.
My long blade Devil is just amazing.

Enjoy.

There must surely be something horrendous hiding beneath the stickers for those to be devil grade?

Look brilliant and although I am in no need for a bat (like 99% of the members here) it is very difficult not to be continually impressed by the quality of Matt's work and make you want to invest in one of his bats!

Nothing, zip, nowt.
Matt and I hand picked the clefts.

I might quit my start-up and ask Matt for a job!

Agree with Simmy, can't believe the bats in pic having no concaving.

Need to see pic of the spine from toe.

Is this your best Paxman impression?

Just checked and there is no concaving. I even put my glasses on!  :D

I assume that even though it's a Devil it follows the same profile as the G1 hellfire? If so, the website blurb indicates a concave shaped spine. I agree from the pictures it does appear to have some concaving (may not be much) but for the cost of one of these they look like some of the biggest bargains i've seen on here in a while!

It's a custom profile without concaving.

Who else wants to ask the same question.  :D

Wasn't a criticism buddy. Wasn't aware you had a custom that was copied for these, I just read the opening post and saw the stickers so assumed it would match the Hellfire. Great value though and I imagine the lucky recipient is very pleased with your assistance! Not sure i'd knock them in for him though unless he is providing you with beer as gratitude!

All is good, no offence taken.

It's branded as a Hellfire because that's just the preference. Don't worry, I'm getting paid to knock them in!

I think Simmy is just splitting hairs, ignoring the 'no concaving' statement.

Both bats looks  good and yes it is hard to believe from the pics that they are not concaved. :)
