thanks I've not received the bat yet, Ajit did say it has a immaculate light pick up, but am still deciding on which 2 bats to buy frm SF, SS & SG.
-
looks big for a 2-10
-
I sold a MB Malik Bubber Sher bat yesterday with similar specs to this bat 36mm edges, 8-9 grains (not as straight as the SS) 2.10 weight.

im confused, so are these yours or ones you might get? if you havnt got them yet i might steal in and buy that saphire!
-
That SS steel, we played against someone who had one, sounded horrible
-
Nah not all are mine, So far out of these I've chosen 2 bats SF Saphire bat and SG King Cobra. (will post pic of the king cobra 2moro).
-
SS STEEL BAT
Grains = 10
Grade 1 english willow ( though regular grade for this bat is grade 1-2 )
Weight = 1168 gms ( exact on digital weighing machine = 2lb 9.1oz )
profile is bigger then the SS YUVI t20 and quite like the SS GOLD EDITION bat
Edges = 35 mm ( exact of the sweet spot where TON stamp is embossed )
Pressing & Ping is as usual outstanding with SS TON Bats.
-
Just because your reading the specs off SS for it or some other shop don't make it any good.
-
What u on about this SS steel is a gun bat an absolute beauty.
-
agree to some extent apple but if maj says its good then its good, end of really
-
Thats correct Slogger02 that bats an absolute beauty. SS and SG are one of the very best pressed bats in the world.
Here is picture of another bat (abt £70) which I bought frm onlinestockist 6 months ago amazing quality willow looked liked PP willow and ping was, as i said b4 SS bats have amazing ping.

-
Yes, Ajit is a great seller, will get the SG gloves and pads as soon as my Mum permits!!
-
Maj - please tell us all a little more about the pressing at SS and SG - what exactly do they do which makes it stand head and shoulders above all other bats???
-
agree to some extent apple but if maj says its good then its good, end of really
Slogger02 I wholeheartedly disagree Majid says every bat has professional ping and light pickup. He doesn't own it hasn't picked it up just been sent another picture which he has posted... With the normal description that is added to every bat he post.
-
i for some reason was under the impression he owned it (too much beer ;D)
in that case i will retract my statement!
-
I don't think you understand Norb. Ajit is a TRUE SELLER and all the SS bats he sells have professional ping, test quality willow and light pickup.
-
Devonian Beer professional taste with light pickup for those big hits and easy drinking
edit:ooppss
Tom, TRUE SELLER is Ajit right from Onlinestockist ;) buys direct from SS :D
-
is there a such a thing a 'professional ping' ? ???
-
is there a such a thing a 'professional ping' ? ???
We are awaiting, with baited breath, the answer to SillyShillys question on pressing
edit: my English sucks
-
so if i bought a bat from a shop it would have 'shop ping' ?
-
is there a such a thing a 'professional ping' ? ???
Yes, it's like Test Match Ping only not as good.
-
Jesus, where have you been Matt?? Living in a cave with Uncle Bin Laden??
Everyone has heard of the Ping-O-Meter measured through the Ball-Bounce test (Industry tested of course)
Top level is Professional Ping - Reserved for Test players of course, scores highly on the boune- bounce test, only ever found in Majid's bats
Next Level is County Ping - A good reliable ping, dont let it's dull sound mislead you, this is still a performer! Found in every other bat apart from Maj's.
Entry level is Village Ping - Awful Ping, in fact no ping whatsover - it just thuds off the bat, doesnt register on the bounce-bounce test. Thought to be found in the occasional Bulldog bat........
Here endeth the story of Ping.
-
so if i bought a bat from a shop it would have 'shop ping' ?
There is an equation for it....
anything less then 35mm and greater then 2lb 9oz has "shop ping"
anything less then 20mm and greather then 2lb 12oz has "happy shopper ping"
-
I believe we might all get sworn at soon....
-
fingers crossed
-
what about the dominator level, the one which only CA's or SS can reach?
-
thanks for clearing the ping classification up ,i was getting a little lost .the happy shopper ping sounds the bast out of the lot! I suppose the willow is also grade 1 ++++++++++++ from special profesional ping trees?
-
Well it depends, from CA the lowest one would be 1++++++++++,
with the highest being 1++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ + 10000000
-
Oh my days, what are these ppl posting on here while I been away.
Plz admin delete these irrelevant replies to the topic and everyone be serious.
and back on topic I think the SS gloves look slick.
-
how and why is the ss pressed better than other bats maj?? simple question.
-
ive tried to give my answer
-
how and why is the ss pressed better than other bats maj?? simple question.
Shilly, am not an expert but I have used used quite a lot of bats nearly all asian brands and few English.
But I think SS bats are perfectly pressed they ping nicely and still quite durable nd i dont want to go into 2 much detail.
The makers of SS are very highly skilled and they have mastered the art of pressing bats perfectly so thats why SS bats are better then rest few other brands arent so bad lyk CA, SG.
-
guys leave the poor soul alone. He's just trying to share his thoughts and pictures of his would be bats. Maybe he is commenting on the bats basis his experience with the quality of bats he gets from Ajit. If Ajit get his bats diretly from SS and hand picks them, then I am sure they will be good. There are a lot of sellers aroung how go directly to SS, SG, BDM, BAS and hand pick bats for selling in overseas markets. Willow and Leather is another seller (see on ebay).
Do not know about the SS Steel, but I just bought a SS Hero for a freind from Lukey Sports and it pings really well. The grains are not the best (think 5-6) but it will surely register very highly on the ping-o-meter.
Majid, I beat you on the bat-o-meter and ping-o-meter this time with my Platinum reserve. :)
-
Most bats are pressed well. The true test is to get the pressing on the toe right, which unfortunately most of the Asian bat makers are still struggling to perfect.
Hopefully, with greater outsourcing from Aus and Eng brands from India/Pak, the bat makers will learn this skill soon. Till then they need to perfect the finishing/waxing/boning part.....loads to catch-up....
-
"i dont want to go into 2 much detail" no please more detail.... as you said perfectly pressed and master the art of pressing... but not why?
Dont care about Ajit or Lukey Sports and I think it is about time they paid for advertising if there names get dropped on this website anymore.... and maybe start looking at what motives people have about posting about them
nope the true test isnt pressing the toe right... It is about pressing the whole blade correctly not just the toe... The reason the toe is softly pressed is in this video posted by Tom

I think that Majid is entitled too his own opinion, like everybody else. As Majid correctly said some of the Indian/Pakistanni bat makers are amongst the most experienced and best in the world, and a lot of english made bats are pressed in India. But as other people have also stated, there are an awful lot of skilled bat makers out there.
-
What a Joke
-
He did say hes making the statements according to his experience from the bats he has owned.. I mean isn't everyone allowed to have their own opinion??
Getting back on topic, these bats do look great (IMO).. I feel most of the Asian bats do offer a great bargain compared to their price and the price of their international competitors.. They are very good value at their price level..
-
Yep he's entitled to his opinion but for every bat he gets sent a picture of to have professional / outstanding ping, pressed immaculately, also tell us where the sweet spot is and to have 35mm edges or more and be under 2lb 9oz. Well that is just plain wrong.
It is not an opinion it is merely spouting off information that is incorrect.
Asked why the pressing is so good in his opinion the answer "i dont want to go into 2 much detail / perfectly pressed and master the art of pressing" - Isn't an answer or an opinion it is just a load of words that are grouped together and mean nothing. He could have answered that in so many ways and it would have been correct.
So in summary yes an opinion but an opinion based on a picture no that is not acceptable in my eyes
-
I have a picture of a Bentley at home can I post it and tell everyone how great it is? The lad spams on both forums, spouting his biased opinions and lies about bats he has or has pictures of and slagging any bat made near England off. Then he'll argue about it with any doubts his bat picking process (36mm + edges and test match ping) and threaten to stab you. That's why he has had more bans than Shoaib Akhtar.
