Title: Redback Allegiance Pads
Post by: 400notout on November 02, 2009, 03:18:14 PM
Got these from Gary this morning, had a short net in them already! Very comfy, was worried about them beings mens pads as I use SM but fit quite nicely. Comfort is top notch and cosmetics look brilliant in the flesh. I am sure these are the 09 versions and can be picked up much cheaper than you think. Overall extremely impressed with the quality of these pads, right up there with the best and I now have the dilemma of choosing between these and my beloved GM Purist Originals! ???

NE Scotland, indoor nets, was booked in anyway, just a nice coincidence these turned up at the door before I left. Not sure whether Gary would mind me posting the price but very cheap in comparison to pads of this quality.

They are excellent pads.  Have a pair myself.  Nice and light, with loads of protection.  And as you say, the price at the moment is fairly spectacular too.

The bats are extremely good, haven't seen a bad one yet, there are plenty of pictures on the forum and they all seem rather pleased!

I wasn't very impressed with mine, although admittedly it was quite experimental in terms of profile

Musama- why Dukes???? They make balls, not bats!

2 answers for that question:

1) who actually does make their own bats, softs and balls? last time i chacked, each vendor in india was responsible for about 10 different brands - dukes and newbery are made by the same people so the quality cant be at fault

2)150 pounds for test match quality gloves, pads and wk gear - which other brand if offering that to you!

AlRidd, what was this experimental profile, I'm interested in what you got?

Very experimental and I sold to the guy that had it from me at a price that very much reflected that!!

maybe because it not test quailty?

What test players or even county/state use Dukes??

Maybe 1-2 I havent seen any, I don't think they can claim Test quailty-they hav'nt got any test players using there gear,

and it does'nt look like test gear

You do realise most players are paid to use a company's gear.

Yes I do realise that, but if you do compare the qualitys of kook to dukes

who wins?

Netted in it, someone at my club used all there gear and I had to bike it to one training and he lent me his gear,

thats all I'm basing my opinons on, but the gloves wer alright, all the gear was alright.

I just made the point because Dukes seems a strange choice given the way all the debate goes on this forum about english made bats or at least what bats are "trendy". Dukes don't seem to be either.

Apple probably never used them in the middle because it negates his contract with Kookaburra anyway!

The Redback stash looks nice though, just to pull things back!

I never said that I have used Kookabura! That was just a company thats makes (from what I have heard) very good softs they where just a example.

I know but I thought it was funny that you get paid to promote Kookaburra!

i agree with you but you have to shed around 160 quid for those so surely my 80 quid dukes gloves and pads are better pound for pound!

i agree aidy, Kooaburras do the best softs by miles, but i have never had a decent Kookaburra stick, so am reluctant, although tempted, to keep going back to them on the basis of their pads/ gloves.

Sorry Musama, but i would never use Dukes, even if they were free! you've got until Xmas mate, do the right thing and send them back and buy all Aidy's gear from him with the cash!
