Title: It's a very sad day. The death of a trusted friend
Post by: King pair on August 25, 2014, 05:09:38 PM
On Saturday, my Salix broke. I bought it at the start of the season so I am a little annoyed really. But she's was a beaut.

If you bought it new this season salix will help
Always deal direct with the manufacturer in my experience salix are top class with damage.
They don't want their bats to go like this,in my own experience they know their bats are expensive for club players but do everything they can to fix it for you
I've no tie up with salix I've been there a few times to buy bats which are discounted
Can't afford one either i use a warsop
Good luck getting it sorted  :)

I agree, maybe drop Chris a line to see if he can help/shed any light on it. Have you still got proof of purchase?

So what does the warranty cover? The middle?  ???

Sad to see any bats go like that but hopefully Salix or someone will fix it for you.Good luck!

Hi mate just seen this. If it didn't come from Salix direct obtain proof of purchase from Asad or your bank statement etc and pop in the post to Salix direct and I'm sure we will look to do something mate. Toe damage is not really covered in a warranty as such but that's the case with any bat.

Saying that as many have said before Andrews service is top notch and he does look after the after care side of things mate. Ring them tomorrow by all means mate and maybe worth a email with pics of damage but try and get proof of receipt mate.

Depends on the nature of the toe damage really.  Always worth trying for a replacement if this sort of thing happens within 12 months of purchase.  In my experience, the manufacturers we deal with are more lenient than you might expect with this sort of thing, including Salix...

Yeah I do understand that and I will take any help I can get off salix to replace it. im sure they will do all they can.

I just think for it to blow out like that in 4 months is that not slightly uncommon?

It would depend on how many balls faced, how hard you hit, etc. It's perfectly feasible for it to go in four months.

My mate sent his octane back to gm due to the edge being all cracked, claiming it was "barely used" after only 3 months ownership, and only 3 games.

They sent him a pic back, next to one of Alex hales net bats, with less damage, and wear and said " this is very highly used, and in better condition, we are happy to help and repair, but it will cost you. As a good gesture we will give you 50% off"

He excepted knowing, he'd done 4 half hour nets a week, for the 12 weeks leading upto him trying to return it.
