Title: t20 Champions League...
Post by: Buzz on September 13, 2014, 07:56:04 PM
not really sure of the point of this tournament, other than as a money spinner.

bit in the mean time.

COME ON LAHORE!

I would love to see the Pakistani champions win the thing given the hardships they have, plus none of them get to play in the ipl.

I saw the Lions' inning which was decent. MI bowlers were very accurate and there were lot of dot balls. I missed the Lions' bowling -- seems they managed to restrict the MI to a low score. Overall, they played well. :thumbsup

Eurosport in the UK, although they didn't show this particular match today due to showing another sport.

This was certainly massive win for Lahore Lions'. These same players are paid 30GBP per game while playing in domestic Twenty20 tournament in Pakistan and they conquered the laddies of Mukesh Ambani.

On equipment note, I saw Ahmed Shahzad being sponsored by SS/TON, might be for this tournament.

I saw Kane Williamson with Kook pads, SG gloves and GN bat.

Yeah I noticed that too! Looks like all the ND lads have the kook pads, probably because no other company would make pink ones!!

Mumbai Indians go home!

Amusing that pollard is playing for Mumbai, and on his way home, instead of the carribean team he captained in the ct20. And there still in the tournament. Lol.

Still find it disappointing that English teams don't get a go in this :(. Could never take something like this seriously unless it was being done fairly by the ICC.

We have recently. But this year no. Is it because we are still in the county season?

I can't believe nors were happy believe franklin wS there till end of season, and then he legged it as son as barbados(I think) came knocking!

Northen Knights are my team  :). Williamson and Flynn both went to the same school as me, Boult down the road. Our first game of the season is against a local side and I've been told Boult and Anderson will both be playing to get match practice before the SA series. Good lord, I could be slipping down the order for that game.

Na, they moved it a few years back about 1 week into our season meaning we couldn't participate and we haven't been in since.

Actually worst is for Corey Anderson who was with Mumbai Indians overlooking Northern Knights and did not even get a single game.

Mumbai Indians is world's most expensive cricket franchise and champions of 2013, quite a disappointment.

Great knock from a class player which shows you don't have to wildly slog

Wow. Perth needed 12 to win off 2 balls and Marsh deposits both in the crowd!!

Good to see simmons and his agriculture clubbie but style get 31 if 36 balls too.

Mitchell Marsh is a serious cricketer. Improved massively over the last year.

Mumbai Indians got what they deserved TBH.

Pollard is a very average player, making him captain made no sense.

Michael Hussey would've been the smart choice. Picking an injured Malinga also was pretty brainless.

Corey Anderson is made for T20 and him cooling his heels on the bench was pathetic.

That aside pretty gutting when Dolphins got done by Mitch Marsh...

Narine is just stunning in limited overs cricket.

Money talks, they were most expensive team of the tournament and got defeated by cheapest team (Lahore Lions).

Chennai powered to victory passed my beloved Dophlins today.

chennai got 243. Raina blasted 90, McCullum, Jadeja and Faf all cashed in.

Dolphins gave it a good go but fell 54 runs short.

Dodgy lbw may have cost you, as you had got off to a great start,

Mcullum and Raina were great to watch from a T20 point of view!

If we had David Miller we could've won, but Punjab have more money than us...

And yes the dodgy LBW hurt, but credit to Dwayne Bravo. He served up a clinic in T20 bowling

Lol.

Carter just scored a fantastic ton, unfortunately he then lost his head, clear two, but he took the one and ran off to celebrate, his partner on the other hand came back for the 2nd and got run out by a mile!!

So is teas of celebrating his hundred, he just looked gutted. Oops

Was impressive to have only 3 players reach double figures in a score of 174 when 8 or 9 wickets fell.

Narine's just been banned from the final! Yet another reason why it should become an ICC organised event in my opinion.

Surely your not suggesting he was banned for other reasons than his suspect bowling action!

As I'm sure the super kings have never ever ever been anywhere near match fixing and it's allegations.... ........

Wasn't actually referring to that but now you mention it...

As more onto the fact that he's been banned despite not being proven guilty, literally no consistency in the system. Kind of ironic that he'll be playing against India for the West Indies in a weeks time however.

I tend to only watch the games that have people who interest me in.

My personal opinion is make it so the winner of every tournament from a test playing nation qualifies, split into 2 groups each play 4 matches. Rotates around the 10 countries every year and is fit into a short space into the calendar where no other matches are played.

Gotta love the excellent commentary here :D.

"Oh and that's going miles into... oh wait, he's caught it!".

"Faf clearly isnt sure whether he's taken this or not."

While checking the catch -

"And no he hasn't touched the rope... oh wait, he has."

"He quite obviously knew he'd touched the rope"

Some brilliant consistency here ;).
