Hey guys, came across this brand on Online Stockist. Blades don't look too bad, probably would make a decent net bat. But what caught my eye were the stickers. They are exactly the same as the Puma stickers over the last couple of years, only mirrored. Are brands allowed to do this? Isn't there some sort of copyright or something which would stop other brands from basically copying other's stickers? Or is that some sort of unwritten law in which if yo do copy other's stickers you just look like an idiot?

Interested to hear what some of the forum sponsors think about this and what sort of processes they go through to ensure their stickers don't match or aren't similar to other brand's?
-
Cheap Puma rip offs. I think they look very poor and cheap.
-
Bat covers look okay but that's about it.
-
Asked Ajit about them, says they're totally customisable, the willow and prices look pretty good, potentially worth a punt, not had anything bad from Online Stockists
-
Yeah they look like decent sticks. Just curious as to how they can be so blatant about copying Puma's stickers...
-
The new Lorimers bats also have extremely similar stickers, perhaps they're all from the same place ;)

Better off having them blank if they are good sticks. The only thing those stickers do is add weight and make the bat look cheaper than it is.
-
At least ZX came up with different names for the bats.
Lorimers have the Puma names and Puma stickers.
-
And the Puma description

I picked up a ZX Solitaire the other day and it looked to be the biggest piece of willow I've ever seen....and 2.9. Consistently enormous from handle to toe. Undoubtably dry though and I have no idea how they preform.

What makes them so good would love to know and what makes them different from ss sf ect as they are a lot cheaper than them and how would you rate them to a uk made bat

Price is just one factor to attract people.
I believe quality speaks for itself. Have seen quite a few
Pros in MPCL using there bats.
As far as rating i feel their price with quality
Combo is very good and far better to a UK made bat.
Rest everyone has their own opinions...

Who are ZX cricket? do they even have a website? tried to google them and just got online stockist?
They look like average bats to me, wouldn't surprise me if they were hit and miss, a little like MSR hence the price

I don't know if anyone is still following this thread. ZX cricket is basically a small org based out of India. Their fb page says so => https://www.facebook.com/JmsCricketRealChargers. (https://www.facebook.com/JmsCricketRealChargers.) I haven't personally used them, but some of my team mates do and it helps them score a lot of runs.

So what links you to ZX Cricket then?
-
Oh, so cynical Mr Neon ;)
-
Based on what I've used, that wasn't a ZX, but made by them, it went well. The steel spring stickers looked interesting.
-
I've had my hands on a few bats made by ZX and they have all gone really well straight away bar one. That bat took almost a season to come on and is decent now. I've had a few rockets from them, a couple of really good, and the rest above average.

Made by SG !!

i heard ZX and BDM are making CEAT bats

i heard ZX and BDM are making CEAT bats
CEAT bats are made by a lot of manufacturers similar to MRF. BDM could be one. I know that CEAT bats are also made by RS.
-
A bit of digging in to the company info has Sidhant Mahajan as the director of ZX (same family name as the BDM guys), based in Meerut (same as BDM).
Still doesn't say anything about who makes the bats and the ones I saw were in the £200+ bracket not the OS type bats...
@gaurav23 where did you hear SG made ZX bats? SG seem to be making a lot of people on the forum happy at the moment...
From a dealer here who only stocks SG,ZX & Kook - Bharat Sports.

Was there ever a solid consensus on who made ZX & what the quality was like?

Um , i think zx make zx , no ?

Thought I'd give one a go after seeing some on Instagram. Picked this one up for £80 GBP including postage to the UK. Must admit, initial impressions are pretty good, taps up surprisingly nicely!

looks great! online stockist purchase?
-
I never really trust Online Stockists, saw these posted on Insta from another Indian retailer and the price was too good to refuse.
-
Great looking shape and grains . If the pressing is like the other brands that zx make then it should ping well too .
Fair enough that you'd be surprised to some extent re what youd recieve for such aa cheap price , especially when you see/hear some of the stories (ie the huge blackhole size pinknots under ceat stickers etc ). But , when you know that the company can produce great bats for these other brands too, and knowing their bdm connection (who are a fairly reliable brand really) , then perhaps we shouldn't be all that surprised at all . All I'd be a bit tentative about, as I'd be with any brand ive not had eperience with ( particularly subcontinental brands i haven't used ) , is the longevity .
All in all seems a great purchase /bargain .

Where was this sourced? Looks decent.
-
Is it just the pic or is the handle not straight?
-
Just the pic mate.
-
@Calzehbhoy have you used this bat yet? What's it like?
-
It’s alright.
Not the best bat I’ve ever used but certainly more than good enough for me!
