ZX Cricket?
« on: September 17, 2014, 03:49:53 AM »

Hey guys, came across this brand on Online Stockist. Blades don't look too bad, probably would make a decent net bat. But what caught my eye were the stickers. They are exactly the same as the Puma stickers over the last couple of years, only mirrored. Are brands allowed to do this? Isn't there some sort of copyright or something which would stop other brands from basically copying other's stickers? Or is that some sort of unwritten law in which if yo do copy other's stickers you just look like an idiot?

Interested to hear what some of the forum sponsors think about this and what sort of processes they go through to ensure their stickers don't match or aren't similar to other brand's?

Cheap Puma rip offs. I think they look very poor and cheap.

Bat covers look okay but that's about it.

Asked Ajit about them, says they're totally customisable, the willow and prices look pretty good, potentially worth a punt, not had anything bad from Online Stockists

Yeah they look like decent sticks. Just curious as to how they can be so blatant about copying Puma's stickers...

The new Lorimers bats also have extremely similar stickers, perhaps they're all from the same place  ;)

Better off having them blank if they are good sticks. The only thing those stickers do is add weight and make the bat look cheaper than it is.

At least ZX came up with different names for the bats.

Lorimers have the Puma names and Puma stickers.

I picked up a ZX Solitaire the other day and it looked to be the biggest piece of willow I've ever seen....and 2.9. Consistently enormous from handle to toe. Undoubtably dry though and I have no idea how they preform.
