Gary, showed them on at the forum day.

The one I had a look at was lovely and tapped up nicely.  A real bargain for the money.

Hopefully that's the one Jake is sending to me or has dispatched to me.. couldn't resist after getting some pics of the 3 he currently has and the price including postage is a bargain any way you look at it.

Will do an initial review with pics when I get home for Christmas  :D

Personally for these at this price I can't see how anyone can possibly be looking elsewhere for a bat to compare for £100 that's cheap Indian made money
They even look good and I am sure they perform as well
my le is outstanding although shape is different to what I've used before
Top work to provide at this price

Will most bats look like the ones in the pic though that is the question. 100 squid for one in the pic proper bargain but what will others look like? not trying to be facetious but you must understand why I would ask!

Not the greatest photo in the world, but there are plenty of really nice ones in that little pile of goodies.

Ok Gents... feast your eyes on the one I received from Jake... what a lovely welcome home for Christmas  :D

I'm stunned by the value (100 gbp posted) when compared to the finish, embossed stickers are truly beautiful in these colours (although removed the 'English Willow' one as it detracted from the main sticker) and following stats/pics:

8 evenly spaced grains in total with the 8th right on one edge without a blemish in sight!!! 3 of the grains are ever so slightly wavy but barely noticeable unless on close inspection...

Weight - feels like just over 2.10 (digital scales back in Prague) with a neutral pick up i.e. neither light or bottom heavy... pretty well balanced with the current white GM Shock Absorba grip that Jake kindly put on. Might experiment with an extra grip when I get back...

Interesting amount of concaving unlike any of my other bats and the spine seems to flatten out about 70 mm from the toe hence the shape of it.. see the pics below from the toe and toe up.

Max edge: 35 mm
Max spine height: 56 mm
Toe: 20 mm

It'a a bit late to start knocking it in today and testing the ping with a mallet (I've brought back with me), so will update this post in the next few days.

Thanks again to Jake at Vitas for top service and comms as always. He's a very honest bloke considering I can't be in the shop to pick up any of his bats...

Welcome any comments and happy to answer any questions...

These bats are unreal for £100!

Ok.. even though my mum's in bed, I couldn't help getting the mallet out and just testing the response as well as gently starting to knock/round the edges.

It's pressed beautifully and is pinging even before hitting the bat face with any real malice.... the toe is sounding the least responsive and tinny as you'd expect but I'm sure that'll change as time and effort are put in to open up the grains...

Am very happy with this purchase and don't regret not picking up one of Matt's (H4L) recent bargains over the last few days... that SF was haunting me...

So much so I've put an order in with IJC to see what a H4L NV bat grip will look like. Got to admit these are my favourite grips of last season along with Affinity Ayrtek grips... both green, black colour scheme. I have the NV gloves too which may have something to do with the feel of the grips in hand..

I hope a few more of you take a punt on these... If I'm still playing a reasonable amount in the next few years I'm definitely going to have to get a B&S 5 star or Impi.. top top quality especially as a 3 star!!!

Would it be possible to get a profile shot from a little further away when convenient - (if that doesn't interrupt you 'banging away') :)

Time to be controversial.

Checked this out while in vitas, and I wasn't that impressed. Infact I smelled double standards on the forum.

The shape and concaving is more or less identical to the kookaburras of old that recieved nothing but critism and hate due to the method of keeping them light(over concaved)

Off course the price is a lot better on these than the kooks.

Not sure what you mean about the 'double standards' mate.. I'll leave that between you and B&S but controversy/asking a question is fine...

Got to admit the amount of concaving is 'more' than I usually like to see on my bats but I didn't fully realise this until I received it, but the edges are quite big (35mm), which might be the average for most bats these days. My first impressions with the mallet are very good, which I think is down to the pressing.

The big test will be when I get into nets and against good quality old balls so happy to do an eventual update but not any time soon. I think 'fromthehip' will be able to provide an earlier review.

Please explain Double Standards

When a non forum sponsors. I.e kook makes a concaved bat. They get slated for it by the majority of the forum.

When a forum sponsor concaves a bat. The same members proclaim said bats to be great.

Double Standards by the general forum members.  Not by b and s.

Think that clears it up a bit.  People were obviously thinking you were meaning double standards from B & S.

Ok all my bats weights are 2.9 up to 2.10.5 on octane
Personally don't think they are much like concaved kooks

I think mine is a little more concaved than yours mate comparing the pics above... I also think your spine extends down a little further looking at your toe shape.

I guess there are always slight variations when hand/individually shaped....

Like the look of your B&S LE... if that's what it is...
