Beautiful!
-
Bat stickers are not for me but do quite like the colour scheme and look of the gloves and pads... 'muted but classy for ecclectic tastes' might be best description for the whole range..
Much prefer the Assesgai and Impi colours and look...
Didn't look at the bat shape too closely but am sure will be top quality...
-
They look very m&h to me- no bad thing! Look great! Any chance of a profile shot of the bat and toe up?
-
very classy looking gear. Very fitting and desirable.
It might be a step too far but given the 100 limit on the bats i wonder how a numbered set (Bat pads and gloves) would have been received by the market?
Admittedly its a spend level a few above what i can afford but i can image a limited edition set being very appealing to the more affluent player.
-
The softs look top quality, I was highly impressed by the samples at the Vitas event. I like the different style stickers, the black and white colour scheme works well. Only point of note is the that the & looks like an afterthought and doesn't fit particularly well with the BS font.
-
I understand the M&h H look I gues anything with leather / softs will be linked back to them too me they just looked very classie . Once I recieve the first bat and get it all stickered up and the number engraved I will put some profile pictures up .No 1/100 will be going to AOC who are doing a piece on Graeme Pollock in one of there issues they will then offer it up as Competion prize .Great idea on having the whole package numbered I will look into it
The leather bat cover will be numbered to co inside with the bat no .B&S will be over the moon if we achieve a 50% sale percentage for the GP 274 Range as the money going back to the GP Trust Fund will go a long way to giving the Big Man a slightly more comfortable life.
-
I love the 60s logo action.
splendid gear!
-
I love the whole range, and a good cause too.
The softs only look a bit M&H-ish because of the tan leather,
Echo the thoughts of seeing a profile shot, how much will the bat be? Unless I've missed it on the website......
-
I think they look awesome was surprised by the brown on the pads but really like it
-
There are some profile pictures in earlier posts under GP274 the bat price is £265 which £40 goes to the trust

Hmmm...not sure about those stickers on the bat - not really to my taste. Softs look a treat though - I really, really like the look of them - pure class.
-
All looks great Gary - I think the stickers on the bat capture the era perfectly and the pads and gloves have improved from when we saw the samples at Vitas. Great job and I hope they sell to support a legend of the game.
-
Very classy set this and am sure itl have a lot of takers, maybe even for the GP association alone. Always loved the plain look with the tan leather as on M&H
-
Really like this range, especially the bat and gloves! The old style font looks awesome
-
Those gloves look fantastic, very big fan of them. Wish I had the money to treat myself.
-
Can't wait to get my grubby paws on these. Gary is getting a large pair of pads made for me.
Just love the styling
-
Are the softs on a limited run? Or is it just the bats?
-
I'm sure Gary said the Softs are limited too.
-
Yes they will be limited to 100 pads / gloves for those that are O/S or Small Mens or L/H now is the time to contact me as these sizes will be available in small nos
-
Word has come down, the Earl has never been bothered by having matching kit, but given the cause, the gay abandon of spending, and the looks of it, if you could do a leather cricket bag and pop it all inside I'll have Lord Grantham's butler come over and collect the set… 4 pounds 10 shillings and 10 pence? Seriously very nice, very well done. I hope Santa is listening!

GP274 Stickers have been finalised
Here is a quick video to show what they will look like

-
Big fan of those, they look great!
-
It's evident that a lot of love has gone into this range.
Nice to know that some of the profits will be going to a true legend.
-
Just to recap.
With every bat purchased, there will be a numbered leather bat cover (to match the lazer engraved number on the bat) as well as (hopefully) a DVD with footage of Pollocks 274 innings.
-
Can't wait. Ordered GP274 bat, pads and gloves from Gary as well as bag and Assegai 3* bat. Think he said 3rd week of Jan for delivery?
-
Those stickers do look nice.
-
Looking forward to getting these Softs. Gary has ordered me an OSM pair of pads
-
Bat 1/100 off to AOC for a feature on Pollock and the money raising efforts. I also believe AOC will be doing a competition with this bat as the prize.

Near finalised design on the cover. This design is pritned, the finalised version wil be burned/etched into the leather.

My bat arrived at work this morning. I'm very impressed, they look even better in the flesh. Lovely shape and nicely balanced. Its also got a decent oval handle.

Great stuff, thanks.
-
I'll try to do a review, might not have time tonight as I've got quite a bit of work to do. I've had a ball on it and the response is incredibly good!! It makes a lovely sound
-
Those keeping gloves are enough to drive a man to start keeping wicket!
-
The softness of them is something else really pleased with the quality
-
Anyone going to tease the rest of us with some profile pics of the bats?
-
Was thinking the same thing, thinking of getting one but can't seem to find a side profile shot anywhere.
-
I tried the other night but photobucket wouldn't work, I'll give it a go now

Looks big but then again your a 3lb guy JB! How's it compare profile wise to one of your other bats - I'm sure Gary said they are kudos (better say esque).
Thanks for sharing by the way!
-
Apologies for the pics all being separate but when I go to paste a second photo the first has disappeared!!
It's 2.13 with 2 grips, 38mm edges & 62mm spine.
-
Sounds about perfect for me then lol

I'm not too fussed by weight really, can pretty much get away with anything 2.11-3.2 without it really affecting me, as long as it feels good.
This is a lovely bat, performance off ball and mallet is pretty much as good as anything I've got (when first knocked in). I think you are getting a lot of bat for the money especially when you think you are getting a leather cover too
-
Collecting my Softs from Gary tomorrow.
Looking forward to getting them. Will post pictures unless someone beats me to it

Ooh, I recognise those!!! :D
-
I think the GP274 is my favourite kit, probably ever.
Classy softs, which are no doubt high quality, the profile of that bat is lovely. And the stickers are incredibly stylish, right up my street.
Shame they're a Limited Run, as i'm not in the market for any kit atm, but would love some. Hopefully someone knocks one in, stores it (including softs, obviously :-[ ) and then sells it this time next season!
-
I think they need a nice brown leather kit bag to call home - not a fluorescent duffle....
-
That's a great call. If a GP274 wheelie bag was introduced with similar styling to the pads I'd have one.
-
Classy, more pics of bat please.
Does anyone think softs remind of M&H
-
Picked my Softs up this evening only had a quick look at them and am super impressed the quality is second to none.
I'll do more of a review when I get the time.
I also saw the keepers gloves and again these where great. The leather is really soft and the colours look smart.
-
Going to have to buy some new shoes to go with these pads. Need someone understated such as the black new balance shoes.
Wheelie would be great didn't Slazenger do a retro leather bag?

I still have a large Slazenger retro bag for sale :)

Hi
I see that there have been no recent posts in this thread. Just wanted to know how many of the forum members have actually bought and used the GP274 bats / kit; I could see only 2 purchases by other forum members in addition to No.1 which went to AOC & I have bought one. Could not see any reviews from those who have bought the bats and might have used them either (or I have missed the reviews).
-
Mine is a lovely piece of willow, no doubt about. Only problem is, the Impi I got at the same time is proving an even better piece of willow - don't think I've ever felt such a big bat pick up so easily.
-
Mine looks too nice, haven't had the heart to use it yet! Taps up as good if not better than most of my collection
-
Have the softs (mock up set actually), just broken them out and gloves especially are very nice.
-
I have bat, pads and gloves. Love the look of the softs and the feel of the bat, have also paid to have the bat knocked in. Only used the gear in three net sessions and at the moment still using my trustworthy Nixon bat and old softs from last year. Love the B&S kit but currently have nearly £400 worth of gear sat doing nothing! Not sure whether to keep hold or sell but the money could come in handy at the moment. :-[
-
I now have the covers in stock for those of you who have not got there's please let me know your bat no and I will get it out too you and as soon as the DVD rights have been released your copy will follow as well . To date 20 bats have been sold
Regards
Gary
-
Great to note that many of the forum members have contributed their bit for a good cause.
-
This gear is so tempting....if I wasn't overflowing with other bats and pads I'd buy set of these off Jake in a New York minute.
-
Just taken delivery of a set of these softs and I have to say they're fantastic - definitely recommended for the price! Cheers to Jake @Vitas Cricket for sorting me out.
