Just seen a photo of Eoin Morgan in the newspaper using Spartan gloves and thigh pad. Does this mean that he has/is leaving Slazenger to join Spartan?
-
Spartan are an Aussie brand and Eoin has been in Australia for a while.
Wouldn't surprise me is Spartan had snapped him up as soon as he was made England ODI skipper, would fit in with their marketing strategy and would be good exposure with the World Cup too.

To me, slazenger have really lost the plot in the last few years. Guess when you get into bed with Mike Ashley it's never going to end well

Yeah I had a Slazenger bat with one of those Hex handles. It broke after 2 months so sent it back to Slazenger. After 7-8 weeks they replied saying they couldn't fix the handle and were going to send it back. After 4 weeks still no bat, so I contacted them again. They finally sent the bat after another month back-but the wrong one! I wouldn't have minded, but it was a Grade 5 bat which weighed over 3 pounds (mine was grade 1 weighing 2 lbs 9). Again contacted them, only for them to say they had lost the bat.
Certainly never using any of their gear again after that.

Think this clears this up

Just saw this on the sky sports news highlights, had a feeling someone would have beaten me to it on here :-)

Change in bat=change of form hopefully!

Hard to tell from the pictures, is he using his own range? Guessing it's MP stickers with the letters changed to EM? ;)

Interesting that Jason Roy (one of KP's mates...) has moved to Addidas from Slazenger.

Get him an @Ayrtek made TomTek! ;)
-
Spartan have bought out Slazenger in Australia. I'm not too certain if that also equates to other parts of the world, but at the very least, the Australian wing of Slazenger have been purchased by Spartan. May explain the label change.

Hoping he will be donning one but was a bit short notice to get one turned around for him before his BBL call up over Xmas.

Spartan have had the Slazenger Dunlop distribution rights (not necessarily ownership of the brand itself) in Aus/NZ for a few years, that deal pre-dates Michael Clarkes move to Spartan.
Sports Direct own Slazenger in the rest of the world and i would be amazed if that changes any time soon.

Cool. Hardly any Australian players now have a Slazenger sponsorship, so that might explain why.
-
Is anyone sponsored by slaz minus jaques kallis?(who could not be sponsored at all, just running old equipment)
Morgan and Roy gone, smith Miller gone to NB, wright and bairstow to grays, prior unsponsored having list Spartan too.
-
James Anderson as much as I dislike him!

Although Prior replied to me on twitter he was still with Spartan

Think they need to update their website!

-

-
Actually is he woodworm now?

Hope Slazenger don't disappear I still have fond memories of my V100 Waugh zone bat from years ago. I got it from Lillywhites in London and thought It was the dogs danglers
-
They won't disappear completely but I can see them becoming a Sports Direct only brand in the long run

It's even worse that that....look at the B&W picture of Brian Close in the background; he's using an old Stuart Surridge! :o
-
Such a shame my first proper bat was a Slazenger V Caribbean over 25 years ago, my V500 still absolutely flies as good as anything.
-
no new Slazenger stuff in Sports Direct website so far, while the new range has been seen with retailers.
