Eoin Morgan Sponsorship
« on: January 11, 2015, 02:14:54 PM »

Just seen a photo of Eoin Morgan in the newspaper using Spartan gloves and thigh pad. Does this mean that he has/is leaving Slazenger to join Spartan?

Spartan are an Aussie brand and Eoin has been in Australia for a while.

Wouldn't surprise me is Spartan had snapped him up as soon as he was made England ODI skipper, would fit in with their marketing strategy and would be good exposure with the World Cup too.

To me, slazenger have really lost the plot in the last few years. Guess when you get into bed with Mike Ashley it's never going to end well

Yeah I had a Slazenger bat with one of those Hex handles. It broke after 2 months so sent it back to Slazenger. After 7-8 weeks they replied saying they couldn't fix the handle and were going to send it back. After 4 weeks still no bat, so I contacted them again. They finally sent the bat after another month back-but the wrong one! I wouldn't have minded, but it was a Grade 5 bat which weighed over 3 pounds (mine was grade 1 weighing 2 lbs 9). Again contacted them, only for them to say they had lost the bat.

Certainly never using any of their gear again after that.

Hard to tell from the pictures, is he using his own range? Guessing it's MP stickers with the letters changed to EM?  ;)

Interesting that Jason Roy (one of KP's mates...) has moved to Addidas from Slazenger.

Spartan have bought out Slazenger in Australia. I'm not too certain if that also equates to other parts of the world, but at the very least, the Australian wing of Slazenger have been purchased by Spartan. May explain the label change.
