Title: Customised Masuri Skid Lid
Post by: Vitas Cricket on February 06, 2015, 03:34:43 PM
The first of many helmets we are doing for various local clubs.

Minimum order on custom lids is just 1, gone are the days of having to club together with 5 other guys to get an order sorted. Turnaround within 4 weeks.

Is it possible to get an old one Embroidered for the right price ?

Can they do bottle with a yellow peak??

The standard cloth options are navy, maroon, green, black, sky blue, royal blue, yellow and red. Literally any colour cloth is possible with an extra lead time and a small extra fee.

The only peak/rim colours are black, maroon, green and navy.

Is it possible to get an old one Embroidered for the right price ?

Unfortunately not. Do send me a PM though as there are various neat solutions to this problem.

Is the embroidery free ???
Title: Re: Customised Masuri Skid Lid

Is the embroidery free ???

No, but it isn't a huge amount really. We charge £20 which includes the postage fee we get charged by Masuri for one off/small orders, so this could come down if enough people ordered together. It isn't much considering this is not just for embroidery. If you wanted, you could opt for any of the cloth/rim colour combos. red cloth with a black rim as well as your club logo for example

The only extra charges are for setting up an embroidery file in .DST format unless you can supply one, or for choosing a cloth colour not on the standard list.

A great option, i think the minimum order being 1 will see a lot more people donning their club badge, theres always one or 2 guys at every club who want this, but finding 6 was usually a bit tougher.

Just arranging mine currently, as well as getting some new stickers sorted for my Ayrtek Raw and looking into an after market embroidered patch for my old Masuri keeping lid, looks a good solution to the question raised by Plumb11.

Triple threat lids for me  :D

Looking smart, not sure you'd get away with one of those in your local village team though haha  :D The amount of stick you'd get would be unbearable!!

One of the guys at my club won one of these from somewhere with the club logo, and a couple of the colts bought them with the logo.
Neither of the colts wear theirs as they said they weigh a ton, and the guy has got nothing but abuse and short bowling from everyone in his net (including his dad!)

Lids themselves look good, just not on a 4th team player apparently  ???

An email or a phone call is the best way to arrange yes. I am free until 6pm on 01733 201144, or you can email jake@vitascricket.co.uk

No problem. Open tomorrow 9-4 if that helps. Monday 11-7 if not.

Feel free to email over the weekend to get the ball rolling though :)

Orders for skid lids flying in currently. Will have some photos of completed ones in the coming 10 days or so hopefully.

Remember the minimum order is just 1, and there a maximum lead time of 4 weeks, so if you have been sitting on the fence but want one before the season starts, you don't have much time!

Hi everyone , this is my first post on the forum from Texas, USA ! Purchased a black masuri vision elite titanium from Jake at Vitas. Must say that the helmet is pretty good.  Considering that we play on concrete/carpet wickets where even slower medium pace bowlers can bounce the ball to head height - a good helmet is a must.  The masuri vision elite is comfortable and fits well. The double grill doesn't affect the vision at all & you don't notice the 2nd grill. Maybe a little heavier than my previous helmets but you get used to it pretty quick.
And the customer service from Vitas is excellent too !

We don't stock Shrey. Based on the ones we've seen, we are not prepared to put our name to them, build quality is rather questionable.

The general consensus seems to be that you don't really notice the extra weight when its on your bonce.

I only wear it occasionally, when someone has serious wheels. I hate wearing a lid and my old masuri was the best I had but it died in a fire so ideally I would like the same again

Still not buying this fully, with old style lids you could definitely tell the difference between a ti and steel grille. Haven't worn a new Masuri for an extended period of time but don't see why that should change other than that you might get used to it over time.

.........other than that you might get used to it over time.

I think you are probably correct; but if you get used to it, is it really an issue? On the other hand I can see if you only wear it occasionally  it might be more noticeable but (playing devil's advocate here) are those few grams really going to make that much difference to the way you play?

Yeah that's very true, depends if you do get used to it though. I know personally that switching to a titanium grill was a big factor in me getting used to wearing a helmet, even after a full year of using one I still didn't like it but losing some of the weight made the difference.

I have no idea about the standard of cricket, but Malta is very picturesque and ideal for boozing, even McDonald's sells beer (can you imagine the carnage that would cause in the UK...)

I just got back from a cricket tour in Malta last weekend and I have to say it was excellent. The guys out there really looked after us, they had Hampstead CC Tour after us so the standard can vary depending on what level you are looking for!
