Post by: InternalTraining on February 27, 2015, 11:40:52 PM
I am pretty sure that AB Devilliers' bat is not a kookaburra. So, who really makes the ABD bat and do we have any intell on the specs? Please share.

I can't beleive people are even asking!

It has kookaburra stickers, and a kookaburra armourtech scuff sheet, it simply has to be a kookaburra!
When is a bat ever different from the stickers it has?  ;)

He really is one of those people who is good at everything!!

He was shortlisted for South Africa's junior national hockey team.
 > He made it to the shortlist of South Africa's junior national football team. > He was captain of South Africa's junior national rugby team.
 > He holds six South African school swimming records.
 > He holds the record in the 100m dash in South Africa's junior athletics.
 > He was a member of South Africa's junior Davis Cup tennis team.
 > He was South Africa's U-19 national badminton champion.
 > Has a golf handicap of scratch or zero, which means he is a player whose average score for a round of golf is par or better.
 > He is a recipient of the prestigious national medal from the Late Nelson Mandela for a science project.

Just another average Joe! 😉

I heard a rumour that tk makes b and s.

Then I've heard a rumour that tk make everything.

So therefore tk make kookaburra.

So it is a kookaburra........

LOL. C'mon guys. :D I don't know TK but more importantly, we the bat sleuths, have not conclusively determined who makes ABD's bats.  :D

It is a sad day indeed .  :(

Wow that's a first one from a brand. Otherwise TK remains a mystery.

Does kook have a batmaker in Australia or is it all made in India

Don't know how true it is, but I read somewhere on the forum some time ago that AB used CA bats along with Hashim....

Wouldn't the international stars (or atleast some of them) be having a personal bat maker? Or they for sure would be getting bats made to their choice. So kook could be making ABD's bats.

I'm pretty sure that he makes his own, probably represented South Africa at bat making when he was younger too ;)

It's nice of CA to put the BAS stamps on Hashim's bats for him as well as the stickers!  ;)

Stamps some players have the equipment to get stamps on bats trust me on that.

Not saying it not a BAS just stamps are not a guarantee.

Nice profile though I really like Bas bats

Like I said @WalkingWicket37 I read it somewhere on the forum, can't find it now, but I didn't know how true it was.

I bowled to him in the nets at the Ageas Bowl and he was using a CA. At the time the stamp wasn't covered but before the game it was.  CA (and BAS infact) have a big offering is SA.

I would guess, like most pro's, he probably get a host of bats from various sources.

This is what I imagine happens with increasing frequency...

Brand: "here's our bats, take your pick..."
Player/agent: "er, actually I've been using these for years and like the option of picking up bats locally when touring abroad..."
Brand: "ok, here's a few sets of stickers..."

Yes, agreed! The bat shape looked like a CA.
