Post by: csnew on April 08, 2015, 10:53:58 AM
Not everyone's cup of tea on this forum, but due to start today with skysports showing it.

Itv's coverage was pretty good previously

I didn't really notice any difference in his action personally, may drag up some clips and compare later.

Gambhir's bat just snapped in two. Seeing more and more pro bats breaking in past few months. All must have been over dried to get big size for weight.

Enjoyed yesterday's game but delhis dodgy batting order cost them the game.
Plus yuvraj looked like a clubbie against the short ball.

Just saw the IPL Player Auction....No one gave a f about Amla

I saw a lot of Amla at Surrey last season. He's not great to watch at T20 cricket to be honest, only the purists like to watch him and that's not T20's target market.

The fielding gets better every year

Albie only played in Chennai as Sri Lankans players aren't allowed to play there. Angelo Mathews was available again today so came straight into the side.

He was there only batsmen in the last game. I presume they sent him in as a pitch hitter and wasn't happy with his above a run a ball 60 odd.

Strange decision to drop, but then it was either him or duminy to bring Matthews in..... victory here will mean they were right.
Title: Re: IPL 2015 Season

JP is the skipper so Albie was always the likely fall guy. TBH despite Albie's slow start against Chennai he was the only batsmen to show any fight so a but unlucky to get axed.

Very true it's a real shame.

I was lucky enough to watch the Mumbai Indians game as I was in Mumbai on Sunday night and the atmosphere and noise levels in the ground are unreal.

What's even more satisfying is to see the number of little kids at the game with their parents. It's a real family affair.

That no ball was ridiculous.  3rd umpire looked like he was trying his hardest to find an angle which meant he could give it out!

No ball all day long.

Ipl seems fickle with overseas. Williamson dropped already, hardly got a chance. And Delhi same with poor albie. Best player in his only game and then jettisoned for Mathews who's been poor since.

On srh. Not used steyn yet. Steyn struggling. Injury? For? Mentally?  Just find it strange he hasn't got a game yet.

Albie only got a game because Mathews couldn't play in chennai.. I'm thinking he's not first choice for Kirsten?
Bit harsh on steyn tho.. But I guess moody feels that boult can bring his World Cup form into the ipl.. Don't think they can play both really.. Their Indian batsmen aren't good enough.
Wait and see if Morris who's bowled very well until now gets dropped for Watson when he gets fully fit...

This game is pretty much over after the first 5 overs.
You know it's a flat pitch when Dr Smith is getting runs. Mumbai just don't have any bowlers and with malinga past his best, can't see them winning a game.

Add to that rohit possibly injured. Reckon tendulkar, ponting and bond might have to come out of retirement at this rate

Talking out of your rear end? Or is that where they brain is situated?

'Flash in the pan' Dale Steyn 396 poles @ 22 in 78 Tests

Clubman Anderson after 12 years struggled like hell to even break 30 average.

Good game, Kings xi looked nowhere with 3 overs left. Draw level then monster the super over.

Dodgy bowling on both parts, but where was Faulkner going?

Rahane and hooda would have been my pick for the super over, not the 3 aussies.

To be fair I'd say previous to this the 5 matches and 16 overs prior to this is a bit more than seldom bowled. Curious how he didn't go to him today though despite him doing fairly well in the other games in general, but I guess none of the more specialist bowlers were getting hit around that badly. His best innings in the tournament so far has been at 3 but then they kicked him back down the order in place of Rahul and Ojha.

Fair enough regarding Bopara's bowling, commentary made out like he never bowls. And Rahul and Ojha have been dreadful. Sunrisers seem to have all top order batsmen(Warner, Dhawan, Rahul, Ojha, Williamson, Bopara etc) and only one 'finisher' (Morgan) who doesn't get picked  ???

Reckon johnson's better off heading away from the ipl and preparing for some test match cricket. Looks woefully out of form. Going at 10rpo + in every game.

Rcb look on course for a 220+ score. Carnage on a small ground

That was stupid, surely the dead ball rule should only come into play if it's a catch?
Not like hitting the wire took the ball over the rope ???

Think it bought it back in abit. Fielder stopped looking, and it landed just a few feet behind him. Could have hurt had it landed on him!

If they lose today Mumbai.  Be a lot of air miles for nothing going out there.

Hales not selected. Long way to go to pick up a cheque.

Mumbai have done that quite a few times, buying players and leaving them on the bench.

Simmons has gone well

Don't see Hales getting a match next game either with Simmons and McClenaghan doing well.

Waste of time him heading over to the IPL. Probably bought more tactical for next season instead of allowing another team to buy him

Hales only way in in injury.

Pollard wins them games with his catching. Can bat and bowl to boot.

Malinga and mclenagan doing the business with the ball. And Simmons avg 40 plus this year.

big money bench warming for hales.
