Hi guys
Iv just bought one of the bats and i'm away at the minute so I just wanted to know if anyone has got/used one of these and what I can expect when I use it ??
I've always been a joe root fan and i've not only bought this bat because of him but for its looks
Many thanks
-
I've had a few Six6s
Nice profile and decent performance from the ones I used.
Mine were all the same size, one weighed 2lb7 and one weighed 2lb13 (with a 2lb10 one in the middle!)
Weight wise you could get anything if you bought blind, but I've never had a bad bat from GM (and I've owned a few!)
-
Thanks mate
am looking forward to seeing it when I get back
have you had a 606 are they natural face or like painted on ??
-
My 606 was a natural finish with a scuff sheet applied and "GM Now"
I think it's only the 303 that has the polycoat finish :)
-
Depending on the willow it may be bleached.
I have a 606 icon which is excellent. I hope it goes well for you.

I got a Six6 Original here in Australia about this time last year. I want with the Six6 as i like the pick up the best of all the GM models from last year.
Mine is pretty light, bought at 2'7. Now sitting about 2'9 after oiling, fitting toe guard and some bat tape after stupidly trying to drive a yorker to the boundary.
With the DXM machine crafting GM models all to the same spec, you shouldn't have a problem with pick up etc.
-
Thanks for getting back to me guys, much appreciated!!
Had my first net with the bat on Tuesday with an oldish ball as dos get it knocked in by the shop but didn't want to go in all guns blazing straight away. All I can say is it pings.
Had a bowling machine session last night indoors and all I can say is it feel amazing. It's just like the ball hits the bat and just pings away. Never felt so comfortable playing a cover drive in my life.
Let's hope I can get some runs over the weekend.
Best of luck for the weekend guys 👊🏻

I went into the shop with my heart set on getting a six6 last year. They had a rack full of different weights and ended up walking out with a mogul. For me the six6 just picked up like a dog.
Actually reading that back that's a lie, I went in to the shop just to kill some time and ended up walking out with a new bat :-[

Funny old game cricket. I had a good look across the Mogul, Icon and Six6 at the beginning of last summer, and found the Six6 to be the best pick up out of the three.
Each player is different right.

You're not wrong there. I was very close to ordering one off one of the sponsors on here to get the jump on the season and also to save a buck. Glad I didn't go through with it. Love the profile but just totally wrong for me

Bat Update - played 1 game and its totally split at the bottom beyond refurb
Sent pictures to people I bought it off and they said "send it back to us we can see what we can do with it :(

If you've already taken pictures you might as well let us see them too.. ;)

Upload them to an image hosting site (I personally use photobucket) then paste the [img.] code into the body of the message on here.

Not mentioning names but the company was useless
Saying they can see if they can fix it

I cracked the toe of mine last year just before doing my knee. Wasn't that bat though (the bat i mean, my knee was totally $%*ed!)
If it had been the Icon i would have completely understood. Toes on those are twigs, but I liked the Six6 as the toe was a bit more chunky.
Unfortunately, timber is a natural product and you can't avoid all imperfections.
I've not heard of a decent claim from a large retailer here in Australia.
-
Yep, that is one nasty bit of toe damage. Good luck dealing with company/manufacturer, hope you get a replacement one.
-
I would have replaced that on the spot, any reputable retailer should have. Repair is always first port of call but that is beyond fixing.
-
Well I've seen worse, but i hope you get your replacement bat/money refunded because that's crazy toe damage.
-
I bought a GM Apex 606 to use as a net bat a few years back, didnt knock it in for a year or so after, and it split down the edge when I was knocking it in!!
-
This thread is not filling me with confidence, im thinking of another icon dxm(808) after picking up a real nice on from fattus cattus!! :)
-
Been emailing the company all day and its like getting blood out of a stone but im hoping to have finally got through to them.
Sent GM the pics and said the company should just replace it as its throw away
fingers crossed :)
-
Any update mate?

Off the wall suggestion, but have you tried calling the shop and speaking to a real person?

Was on the phone to them a 9:30am as soon as it opened then he said the bss wasn't in till 12. rang back and still not in and so I have his personal email so emailed him. got to call back Friday afternoon.
-
Wow! That's some pretty epic carnage
-
What company did you buy this bat off. Any company should be able to give you a refund.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
-
Should be looking at a refund in my opinion too.
-
Talent Cricket!!!
ive had nothing from them today tried calling but just closed
-
Tweet them with a picture.

An u15 in a 3xi match, had his Six6 606 snap near up to the splice right across the face of the bat. Blade of the bat went further than the ball. He got an upgrade to an 808, so you might be lucky.

Hahaha mate trying to get an email out of that bunch is hard let alone an upgrade. Not going to hold my breath haha
-
I had a bat from talent cricket a few seasons ago which was damaged in the few games after being fully knocked in. sent it back to them and they sorted it out for me. I personally had a good experience with their customer service.
