So there's been a lot of talk about the relevance of handpicking, and the merits of it etc etc. This is not intended to be one of those posts, this is merely intended to let the evidence, and the results, of our meticulous handpicking, speak for themselves.
We saw our UK distributor for SF and CA bats recently, and he brought us a good few bats to choose from. As ever, we were extremely fussy and picked out the ones which we felt were good enough to adorn our shelves and bat racks. We select on a few different factors - performance is always number 1. You can't score runs with a pretty plank! Pick up, dead weight, looks, shape, size etc all come into it too, so it is quite a complex skill to select the best bats, and we don't always get it right but we feel like we do a decent job most of the time!
Below are four of the bats we selected. Two CA Plus 15000 Players Edition bats, and two SF Black Edition bats. Both of these are pretty rare - and certainly rarely this beautiful, so snap em up quick!

Some lovely clean blades you got there Paul but the CA's edges look like they'll need a lot of preparation. Always baffles me why they bother to put the 'Knocked-in' sticker on.
Is the CA the one Misbah was using the other day?
-
Well, we can do the preparation for you, by hand, for just £0.01 when ordering in October!
Yes, we always advise people to disregard that sticker - a little bit annoying! Yes I do believe that is the same one as Misbah!

Can we get some profile shots please?

More grains than Uncle Ben!

Very nice!

they are on our website, on the relevant product pages. Will see if I can get them added to this thread later too, but limited to what I can do now (on the train home from H4L!)
The CA bats have 42mm and 43mm edges respectively. Ridiculous bats...

Those CA's are lovely looking sticks, for sure. Yours for just three hundred and sixty quid. And that's with a saving of ninety quid off the RRP. Although they might be big bats, for me, there's always the nagging issue of underpressed, overdried willow and short lifespan with Asian-made bats. What's your take on this, Paul, Chris?

I can understand people's concern, and they are slightly drier than other bats. We simply advise customers to oil them a little more than other bats, and certainly do this ourselves when knocking them in. However, the major fact which is relevant here is that we've had CA bats for over 2 years now, and have not had a single return. Compare that to any other brand, and it really is very impressive!

Lovely bats. Really tempted by both these.
-
@shax12 don't forget there is free knocking in! The CA also came number 1 in the top 5 bats of the month too...

Cheers mate will keep that in mind. Really impressed by the CA. Saw your video of the bats.

Great advert for the subcontinent brands.

Beautiful looking bats Paul.
Do the CAs have those 'bendy' handles like Misbahs bat?
-
what are the weights of these paul?

I was a big skeptic of CAs until I get my hands on one. Knock on wood, over two years now and going strong. Huge sixes.
I gave the bat some good knocking with a mallet and netted with it. It opened it fairly quickly. I am so pleased with my CA. That I bought two more for 2016. One of them has 31 grains and I posted its pics here on the forum.
When Iam not using my CA, I use my M&H Amplus or my trusty Laver.

Very good looking bats Paul.

Not a dig at the retailer at all, but why pay over £300 for a bat made in Pakistan or India, when raw materials and labour probably don't exceed £75.

If it's that easy, buy the raw materials for £75 a time and knock them out yourself mate, you'll be a millionaire in no time.

I wasn't saying it was easy, but compare the retail price to something UK handmade produced from the same willow supplier, how can the end cost be justified? Some of these people in India earn less than 5 quid a day.
-
But once you've added in the costs to ship the bats over to the UK and then add the relevant import taxes, you'd be surprised how much it works out as. I fully agree however that these people deserve more money for the work they do, but sadly this isn't likely to change anytime soon.
To put it into perspective, I pay less for a bat 100% handmade in the UK than I do for a bat made by my soft suppliers in India... (inc delivery/taxes etc).
