Title: It's okay to be NV-ous
Post by: WalkingWicket37 on February 17, 2016, 04:05:04 PM
Me again with another new acquisition.
There is already a review on this bat from Chad, but now it is in my possession courtesy of a swap it only seems fair that I do a review while I'm on a roll!

There isn't a lot to say about this bat really. A H4L G2 NV with 7 wide grains. They're nearly straight and run through the toe almost all at a 90 degree angle. The hitting area is nice and clean with a couple of blemishes, one on each edge.

The dead weight with a scuff sheet applied and 1.5 chevron grips is just over 2lb12, but it picks up a dream, I wouldn't have guessed that if I was asked what I think it weighed.

There is a small amount of concaving to help with the balance and pickup, with the spine running down to the toe.

If Julian Millichamp looked for a bat that sound d like a screaming cat when you tapped it up, this bat would be more like a lion who stood on a plug! Thanks to Chad knocking it in this is an absolute beast, if it were a dinosaur it would be a pingasuarus Rex!

In short we have a lovely H4L that performs as good as anything I've had recently, it's ok to be NV-ours if this one!

The vital stats
Weight in it's current state: 2lb12.125
Edge size at peak: 35.5mm
Edge size at shoulders: 13mm
Edge size at toe: 17mm
Spine height at peak: 62.5mm
Thickest part of the toe: 23mm

Discussed swapping this with my Scat but didn't work out with Chad, by the time I sold it & checked in to see if the bat is still available this was gone, lucky mate. To make sure I don't get too NVious I am getting one from Jake. Seeing all these H4Ls wanting to get hold of mine sooner.

Just a quick update - I've used Norman the NV in a couple of net sessions and this is a serious bat.

It sends the ball flying off the face and makes a lovely sound when it does it. Here is a ping test video so you can all enjoy the sound of leather on Willow  :D

Very good mate hope it works for you. My Nv is coming out on Sunday at my nets. So excited. Could be a good season for all h4l batters [emoji1303][emoji1303]

Presumably you've been lending it out then?

Cheeky sod!
I can use the face if the bat thank you very much. I was allowed to bat against the U13s adimitedly, and a couple of them beat me for pace. Still counts as getting bat on ball though...  :-[

looks lush, and certainly one of the most aesthetically pleasing bats out there imo
