Meaker nearly lost the kiddy makers. Not a good way to go, poor guy.

too many whacks in the plums as a teenager obviously stopped me bowling genuinely quick.

I knew it was something rather than a lack of 'fast twitch muscle fibres' ......or ability.....

Excellent use of spell-checker Nick!

Indeed, I was imagine a bat maker the stood still so long a willow tree grew through him!

Was most disappointing to see it was only someone who should have bought a shockdoctor.

I blame SwiftKey,  keyboard is an utter menace for correct ting words that were correct in the first place. Why Microsoft paid £250m for it I don't know.  What did I originally put?

Meaker damaging his plums was surely prime fattus material rather than a passing autocorrect comment?

I can't beleive that he hasn't had more sympathy. Anyone who's taken a ball to the plums will know it's agony.

I think it's more painful than child birth, and here's why:
Women moan how painful child birth is, but after the first (second, third etc.) child they will still want another baby (sometimes several more).
On the other hand, have you ever head anyone say "it wasn't so bad last time, I fancy another cricket ball to the bollox today"? Nope, never - case closed  ;)

Firstly - your spell-checker is patently still not working! What is a 'ting' word?

Secondly - the title was 'Maker suffers freak grow injury' - absolutely nothing there to alert my 'Plum Radar' Nick!

If you want a real 'ouchie' story, try this one from the NHS archives:

An unconscious 30-year-old man was brought in to us by ambulance. His girlfriend had found him lying naked on the floor of his bathroom and called 999. Upon examination, he was found to have a large lump on his forehead and, strangely, several scratches on his scrotum. The lump was obviously from a fall of some kind, but we couldn’t work out the cause of the scratches until he’d woken up. He said he had been cleaning his bathtub while naked, kneeling on the floor beside the tub. His cat, apparently transfixed by the rhythmic swaying of his scrotum, lunged forward, sinking its claws into this deliciously pendulous target. The man wasn’t sure what had happened next, but clearly he’d jerked forward to protect his package and cracked his skull on the edge of the bath.

 :D :o :(

This is why I've never trusted cats.

I did that one on purpose to show you what I have to put up with, if I don't watch it carefully. Might go back to stock android keyboard, seemed to understand me better!

"It wasn't any worse than when you get hit there when wearing a box... Later, when I was in A&E..."

Haha.

Its easily done when you first start playing (so Meaker can't use this excuse). By sods law the time you forget it is the time you get a ball to the nadz, and you'll never make that mistake again

To be fair, Meaker doesn't play cricket that often.

Very easily, my first half a season I didn't wear one as no one told me I had to. Faced a few guys who are 75+ too. Stupid in hindsight but if you're new to the game completely but not young then people just expect you to know
